Dp announced after totally blanking me.

At the beach last night with toddler & dog, I was in the middle of talking with Dp when he stares off down the beach and then says ‘Oh it’s the cleaner from x house! (a house he did some work on and visits regularly) She walked past us and said hi to him then to me, no conversation or how are you’s. He then starts saying ‘Oh she’s really nice’ etc etc.
He’s mentioned her or ‘The cleaners’ at that particular job a few times and how hard they work etc. Am I being crazy to feel weird about it? You know when you know them and they just say/act a bit differently?
Fwiw, she’s mid 30’s, dark, attractive

Dark?

GoodGrief100 · 29/10/2021 15:43
Hmm
FlorenceNightshade · 29/10/2021 15:43

Hmmm if he was up to something would he draw attention to her? It sounds a bit odd so maybe just ask him outright why he keeps mentioning them/her?

Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 15:44

@ImUninsultable Dark hair, brunette

I assume dark refers to hair colour.
As in tall, dark & handsome... Ever heard that phrase?

I'd be suspicious OP, he's probably got a little crush and a case of mentionitis

Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 15:44

@FlorenceNightshade I guess not..his face just lit up

OP posts:
Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 15:45

@Shitfuckcommaetc That’s what I wondered

Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 15:46

*Hair, sorry missed it out, dark hair as in brunette, good looking

@ulez I do, but wanted to see if others thought it sounded like an attraction/crush..know he wouldn’t act on it

OP posts:
Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 15:58

Am I being crazy 🙈

Pumpkinsondisplay · 29/10/2021 16:01

Maybe he previously had a low opinion of cleaners and is impressed /shocked she is actually a nice attractive woman?

FlorenceNightshade · 29/10/2021 16:01

@Grinchisback the only person I can think of who drew attention to his crush is the dad from Muriels Wedding! I’d personally be more worried if he saw her, got all awkward and then made you walk the other way

MrsWooster · 29/10/2021 16:04

Are you thinking he’s got mentionitis..?

Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 16:04

@Pumpkinsondisplay No, def not

OP posts:
Morgan12 · 29/10/2021 16:10

You're not being crazy.

He definetly fancies her.

midnightpopcorn · 29/10/2021 16:11

It's mentionitis I expect. We don't know you so you may well be a loon but considering crazy jealous women are actually pretty rare I'd say listen to your gut.

You just know when somethings off... the slight raise in tone when they say their name, the glint in the eye. People will tell you you're mad but when you know you know.

Saying that, it doesn't mean anythings happened. Probably just a harmless crush

Pumpkinsondisplay · 29/10/2021 16:15

Maybe he heard she cleans naked??
Grin

Wilkolampshade · 29/10/2021 16:18

Sorry yes, I would go with mentionitis too. Weird how you know isn't it....

Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 16:31

@MrsWooster Yes I think so

OP posts:
Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 16:34

@Morgan12 How do you know?

OP posts:
Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 16:35

@Wilkolampshade Yes, that’s it, there’s just something, isn’t there? It’s almost like they want to talk about them, but seems so innocent. If I liked someone, I’d do the complete opposite! 🙈

OP posts:
Grinchisback · 29/10/2021 16:37

@midnightpopcorn Yes, you can definitely sense something..different.
In all honesty, I *Am quite a jealous person, that’s why I’m checking. I’m not crazy jealous though

Osrie · 29/10/2021 16:37

If you want to read too much into something

rubicscubicle · 29/10/2021 16:40

Could it be just because he simply did not expect her there?
I sometimes point out people if I was not expecting them.
