Saw elsewhere people discussing ticket prices for Adele and that there are payment plans available. Since when do you need payment plans for a gig?

Had a look and it’s £257 for one ticket. It’s outrageous.

"Just got tickets for erasure at £65 which is a bargain"

Where please? I thought I'd missed their uk tour and the dates don't work for Europe.

Isseywith3witchycats · 28/10/2021 18:16

we have paid £60 each to see Alice Cooper and the cult next year and even the seats at the front of the stage are only in the £80 bracket i dont mind paying those sort of prices but a couple of years ago the eagles were £250 a ticket they are good but not that good, we usually go to Manchester arena and prices are always under £100 and we have seen some good bands for that price i wouldnt be able to justify £500 for two of us for a couple of hours live music

No it isn’t. It’s business. Supply & demand.

Resale sites have proved that the true market price for entertainment & sports tickets for which demand far exceeds supply is much higher than vendors have traditionally charged.

Adele and her management are testing what the market is prepared to pay for a very scarce commodity. If they have got it wrong, the shows will not sell out. If they have got it right, it will set a benchmark for other major artists.

iklboogiemaninthecloset · 28/10/2021 18:30

I thought maybe that was for a VIP ticket, but they’re £1499

Christ, for that I'd want her to come over and make me tea.

MydogWilloTheWispEvilEdna · 28/10/2021 18:32

Supply and demand.

I wouldn't pay that much for Adele but I find her a bit meh.

However I have just paid £130 for a Red Hot Chili Peppers ticket. I still completely regret scoffing at Kate Bush tickets on her last show at same kind of figure.

Football tickets are £90 each, so it's worth it if you are a huge fan.

Tabitha005 · 28/10/2021 18:40

@Sparklingbrook

I don;t think there's a band or artist that is worth paying that to see.
Agreed. I'd never pay more than about £50 for a gig ticket. Although, I also don't get the fuss over Adele - when she sings, it always looks and sounds as though it's hurting her.
LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 28/10/2021 18:43

Wow. Cost of living really shot up eh Adele? Guess living in an LA mansion needs bucks

This was on Erasures FB page earlier, The Erasure Information Service pre-sale for our May 2022 shows in Belfast, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Leeds, Hull and Liverpool is running now. General sales for those shows start at at 10am (UK) on Friday (29/10).
NoDecentHandlesLeft · 28/10/2021 18:58

Yikes, I've paid less than that for a stellar line up at a weekend festival, that is insanity.
I'll pass and listen to the album.

ILoveCreamCrackersMe · 28/10/2021 19:02

What's the point of going to an Adele concert? Does everyone just stand around in groups crying, thinking about some tousled haired guy they used to date whilst she honks on for 2 hours?

Couldn't you just get the same emotional pain from volunteering on a charity helpline?

Longdistance · 28/10/2021 19:02

@coodawoodashooda and pay for their divorces and listen to them drone on about their breakups on stage.
I’ll get my coat…

dworky · 28/10/2021 19:03

@DrManhattan

Haaa she's not even that good
It's the going price for a top artiste. She evidently is or she wouldn't be able to charge it.
Haudyourwheesht · 28/10/2021 19:05

Gawd she's going to have to pay a hell of a lot of tax on that.

Dandymax1 · 28/10/2021 19:07

£90.45 is for a particular area. I think it's now standard to charge this. These amounts aren't up to the artist. I don't agree but if I desperately wanted to see Adele, at least a payment option is there.

Surelyunsure21 · 28/10/2021 19:15

I paid less than that to see Tom Jones and he’s a living legend! Confused

MadisonAvenue · 28/10/2021 19:17

Football tickets are £90 each

No they’re not.
We’ve got Man Utd season tickets but I know that the price of a standard ticket purchased from the club is between around £30 and £55 for adults, depending on where you sit in the ground.

TeaAndToastNameChange · 28/10/2021 19:19

I used to love Adele but her personality and down-to-earthness have disappeared. Left in LA somewhere. The old Adele wouldn't have charged so much! Her new song is a bit pants too! :(

newterritory · 28/10/2021 19:20

Would only pay big money to see Springsteen on Broadway - I'd remortgage my house lol Smile

Taking the kids (2 of them) to see Ed Sheeran next year, that set me back nearly 300 quid - I thought that was OTT!

Itstheprinciple · 28/10/2021 19:20

I'm going! Can't wait! Tickets started at £90 for general admission. None left this morning so i am in the Golden circle. It is a lot of money but I'm so excited.

DrManhattan · 28/10/2021 19:21

@dworky
That's my opinion, I'm not speaking for anyone else

TrussOnABus · 28/10/2021 19:25

Who cares? If you can't afford them don't buy them. Lots of luxurious commodities in life are costly. Handbags, shoes, cars, holidays. How is this any different? People will buy them, she's great.

And FWIW, you get payment plans for all of the above too!

TheFairyCaravan · 28/10/2021 19:32

That’s bloody ridiculous.

DH absolutely loves Bryan Adams. We’re going to see him for £63 for the pair of us. Granted that’s because his ticket is free because I’m disabled but I would’ve paid for both if I had to.

MydogWilloTheWispEvilEdna · 28/10/2021 19:36

This is an adult ticket for an upcoming Premier League game. Not even the best seats...Confused

I wouldn't pay 257 quid to be put to sleep. I'll just take a sominex.

whereisthekey · 28/10/2021 19:45

they started at 90 something for a ticket. i got some and when you go to BST there is a lot of music on, you're not just seeing Adele but music all afternoon on other stages, food stalls etc. it's not the same as going to a standard Adele gig.
