It shouldn’t be said that “only women have a cervix”.

Watching Keir Stammer on Marr this morning scrambling to answer whether or not it is transphobic to say “only women have a cervix” was the final nail in the coffin for me this morning with Labour. In the aftermath of The Lancet calling women, “bodies with vaginas”, I think I’ve finally figured out that the current belief system is that transwomen are women, but women who were observed female at birth are “bodies with vaginas”. Clearly Labour aren’t in need of the votes of bodies with vaginas, brains and a spine.

@dearfanny

The only way they get my vote again is to elect a female leader. One with a cervix i mean
He was up against all the women in the leadership contest, you can read the car crash MN 'chats' they had. Every one of the women was full on anti-female politics. However noticeably, they were all honest and up front about it, and Starmer was not.

@Waitwhat23

There has been a recent rush by TRA's to change the narrative to 'both sides are as bad as each other'. It's nonsense. It's an attempt to justify some of the horrific behaviour aimed at women for the horrific crime of saying sex is immutable.

There is no GC equivalent to this - www.terfisaslur.com

The person who aggressively screamed 'witch' repeatedly in the face of a woman peacefully protesting in front of the Scottish Parliament has no female equivalent.

There are no women making gun threats towards a whole nation of women online (while being supported by their University for doing do).

Women are not deplatforming, disrupting meetings, doxxing, getting people fired from employment and sending death and rape threats.

Women are ribboning, chalking slates, leafleting, signing petitions, writing to their elected representatives, fundraising and discussing issues on a heavily moderated board.

If they believed we were as bad then they would absolutely not want transwomens safety at risk having them in spaces with us.

That painting a picture, like that shit Hollyoaks storyline where hulking great Sally gets taken down by the GC fems.

@HirplesWithHaggis

I live in Scotland, there literally is no political party who can bring themselves to support women.

Well, that simply isn't true, you have a choice of two. ISP and Alba both have woman-friendly policies, though both also support independence for Scotland. If this is a problem for you, bear in mind there's no date set for indyref2...

Most women in Scotland would not feel able to vote for Alba, Haggis. For reasons which should be obvious.
DisappearingGirl · 26/09/2021 21:22

54Ninjawannabe I do have a lot of sympathy with what you're saying. I'm so angry with Starmer and Davey about this. However I still think a Tory government will do more harm to more people (including women) than a Labour or Lib Dem government. And it just feels wrong not to vote at all. And does anyone even look at spoiled ballots? So I may end up voting for Labour again simply because there's no better alternative. I just don't know 🙁

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 26/09/2021 21:24

To be fair a lot of female animals have a cervix......but ONLY female ones mind.

Joystir59 · 26/09/2021 21:32

I will vote labour but I'm heartily sick of them.

Agree. When you're a farmer you know you can't turn a ewe into a ram and vice versa. It's an inconvenient truth
HirplesWithHaggis · 26/09/2021 22:18

Fair enough, @Kareq. But there's still ISP. I believe they will be contesting the local elections to be held next year. A massive swing of women voters to them would send a powerful message (without actually risking indyref in any way.)

Why is it all about women?

Surely it's just as offensive to state all men have a penis?

Why is it always women and girls who are being used as canaries down the social policy mine?

All human women and girls have vaginas and cervixes

All human men and boys have penises

montysma1 · 26/09/2021 22:39

Transmen are women. Women who identify as men. But they are not men.
Only women have cervixes.
Humans cannot change sex.
Welcome to biological reality.

urbanbuddha · 26/09/2021 22:47

I just don't understand why he is pandering to the tiny tiny tiny percentage of the population who are TRAs while actual women are being brutalised and murdered everyday by (usually) men - surely that should be a more pressing issue. It's so completely baffling why the Labour Party are purposefully trying to lose women's votes to appease a small minority.

Agree. It's nonsensical.

VanGoSunflowers · 26/09/2021 22:50

Biological reality indeed. A man cannot become a woman, any more than a white person can become a person of a different race. It’s genetic.

Waitwhat23 · 26/09/2021 22:53

I'm sure it's probably been linked already but in case anyone is thinking 'what the fuck is going on?' and wants to know more, the Break It Down For Me thread on the FWR board is an excellent source of information - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3145470-Break-it-down-for-me

But so many of Labour's women are just as bad. So unless Rosie Duffield gets elected leader, I'm out. Politically homeless.
SpringCrocus · 26/09/2021 23:50

Just so fucking wrong, and insulting to women.
Fuck off Labour, no more support or votes from me

SlipperyLizard · 26/09/2021 23:50

I’ve got to say, this thread is heartening as it shows that this nonsense, when it meets daylight, is not supported by the majority of women (or men). This isn’t some niche issue for the FWR board, it affects all of us and goes to whether we’re prepared to see our material reality destroyed because a small number of people feel discomfort in their body.

Keir Starmer was an absolute disgrace this morning, as bad as Ed Davey last week. I’m sure Johnson would be no better (because he’s awful at preparing for interviews & I understand Carrie is a TWAW believer).

I cannot vote Tory, but I will spoil my ballot before I support a party that believes in an ideology that harms women & young girls (setting them on a path of lifetime medication & sterilisation) in the name of “inclusivity”.

ClareBlue · 27/09/2021 00:55

This isn't a fight against the general male population. The vast majority completely support the need for biological safe spaces etc. This is a fight against a small minority who intimidate organisations who want to be seen as inclusive and gain support from a sector of society who feel they want to be inclusive without understanding what the implications are for the direction this is moving. The vast majority of people don't really know what is happening here and would be extremely concerned if they did. The gender politics Labour indulge in will not get them elected and you do have to wonder if they are comfortable with being an oposition party and don't really want power and accountability.
Closing down debate, labeling people as phobic, manipulating language, intimidatation and distortion of facts, we've seen it all before. We've beaten it all before too.
The real damage is we have no oposition to a Government that is self serving and dysfunctional because the oposition are so obsessed by gender politics and language.
And Borris chugs another glass of wine and laughs his fecking head off.

NCBlossom · 27/09/2021 01:54

I’m sad to say that for the first time in my life I don’t want to vote for any of the major parties. Labour have totally let me and many others down. Too woke. Conservatives are busy ripping up the fabric of Britain. I feel very demoralised!

Maybe I should vote Green. And just campaign against zero hours wages etc.

NiceGerbil · 27/09/2021 02:03

Not RTFT.

Next time he hand wrings about women in Afghanistan. Or reacts to a woman being murdered by saying violence against women needs to stop or whatever.

Fucking tell him that he's a total fucking hypocritical bastard.

That's my thoughts.

The Green party is just as captured as the Lib Dems and Labour though.
Crankley · 27/09/2021 03:35

Why the Green Party imagine any woman would vote for them I can't imagine when one of their people tweeted an invitation to “non-men”. Hmm

SailYourShips · 27/09/2021 04:01

What can we do to stop this mind bending shit becoming an accepted 'truth'?

SailYourShips · 27/09/2021 04:14

He really is a bumping weight prick, as is Ed Davey and any other man who sees all this shite as a great way to erase women.

If they're saying this now, what will they be saying in 5 years!

SailYourShips · 27/09/2021 04:17

Please don't. Spoil your ballot paper but please don't vote for any party who peddles this. Watch the opening scenes of The Handmaid's Tale before you put an X in the box.
