Bumply · 24/09/2021 13:58

Cringeworthy on many levels.

Gilmorehill · 24/09/2021 14:02

Appalling

ElectricDeChocobo · 24/09/2021 14:04

The main character's name is Karen though.

Lavender24 · 24/09/2021 14:04

😂😂😂😂😂

LuckyAmy1986 · 24/09/2021 14:06

What do you find outrageous exactly?

TheresNothingIWantMore · 24/09/2021 14:07

I think it's deliberate to get exactly this type of free advertising!

LuckyAmy1986 · 24/09/2021 14:08

What do you find outrageous exactly

That they are feeding into the stereotype of women named Karen

OP posts:
LuckyAmy1986 · 24/09/2021 14:08

@TheresNothingIWantMore you might be right there! Just think it’s so unfair on Karens

Ponoka7 · 24/09/2021 14:10

Older women are the only group who we can stereotype. Ageism is the allowed ism.

ElectricDeChocobo · 24/09/2021 14:11

And I don't see what's outrageous about having a film called Karen about someone called Karen.
Gorl · 24/09/2021 14:12

It’s not stereotyping older women. It’s stereotyping racist women who use white fragility to oppress black people.

SirenSays · 24/09/2021 14:12

🤣🤣🤣

LuckyAmy1986 · 24/09/2021 14:14

@ElectricDeChocobo have you seen the name Karen being used for any particular stereotype over the past year or so?

OP posts:
LizBennet · 24/09/2021 14:16

2/10 on IMDB? I’ll pass.

Hmm
flumpetto · 24/09/2021 14:18

I think it's awful. It propagates the view that older white women can't be allies which we can and are. So divisive and unhelpful.

Soubriquet · 24/09/2021 14:18

Same

Yes, the stereotype of racist white women. Which this film is about.

Was about to say, that's a looooow score
TrifleCat · 24/09/2021 14:19

I have said it before and I will say it again - this is really really unhelpful, it is divisive and it does absolutely nothing to help tackle racism.

ElectricDeChocobo · 24/09/2021 14:19

Incidentally, this seems like a fairly small film. How did you find out about it?

AryaStarkWolf · 24/09/2021 14:20

The reviews haha

LuckyAmy1986 · 24/09/2021 14:24

@ElectricDeChocobo not sure why you’re interested but yesterday I was watching Cribs with Tia Mowry. Her husband was in there, looked familiar so wondered what I might have seen him in. On IMDb first thing (as most recent) came up as Karen. Hth.
