How often am I seeing this on Sm these days 🙈

‘And just like that..such and such is 7’ etc etc 🙄

Aibu in doing another massive eye roll at seeing this yet again or am I just a miserable bugger?

OP posts:
DeborahAnnabel · 09/09/2021 10:26

Yes, it's the new #feelingblessed

Another bug bear of mine is "This one". Does "this one" not have a name?

WorraLiberty · 09/09/2021 10:27

Oh, I thought this was going to be about a deleted thread 🤣🤣

I see that far more often.

idontlikealdi · 09/09/2021 10:27

Maybe stay of am if something so innocuous bothers you. Or just cull who you follow/ your friends 🤷‍♀️

SoulfulSal · 09/09/2021 10:29

That feeling when you xyz.

What? What feeling? Just an opener to tell everyone that your six month old dribbled or your 4 year old drew a circle by themselves Hmm

Glitterblue · 09/09/2021 10:43

I'm getting irritated by the number of posts I'm seeing that says "Go smash year 2, beautiful girl" and "first day in reception done. He smashed it".

I don't even know why that irritates me but it does!

SoulfulSal · 09/09/2021 10:50

@Glitterblue I feel the same and it's totally petty 😂

But my mind goes 'No, Sarah, no. Your four year old didn't 'smash it'. At all. They likely just fumbled through the day the same as ALL the other four year olds and no better or worse' 😂

TallulahBetty · 09/09/2021 10:51

Picture of present, captioned 'the boy done good'

GRRRRRRRRR

whatswithtodaytoday · 09/09/2021 10:53

I HATE IT. I'm so glad I'm not the only one... even my most sensible friends have started doing it.

I am cracking up!

'This one' has annoyed me for so long!

As does what OP said!

Mercurial123 · 09/09/2021 10:54

It doesn't bother me in the slightest. Plenty of annoying phrases on here such as "well done you", "you go girl", " I went for a little cry"....

newnamenellie · 09/09/2021 10:54

Absolutely agree with all of these - toe curling 😆

moynomore · 09/09/2021 10:54

Aaaaand .... relax.

Yes. You're miserable #hopetohelp. Your SM isn't a democracy. You don't have to listen to anyone who disagrees with what you think is allowed on the internet. Stop making yourself miserable. Stop following people you don't like.

Droite · 09/09/2021 10:56

I get really irritated by "Me being me ..." Who else would you be?

PileOfBooks · 09/09/2021 10:56

Oh gosh agree with all this. Have hated "this one" for ages. "You smashed it" to a kid that can't read. In fact any of these "he only went and did it"... or any of the talking-to-the-person posts. "Only 3 years ago you were X and after all this y and z now you have come through and bleurg."

LittleMysSister · 09/09/2021 10:56

Thought this was going to be about Sex and the City! Grin

Indecisivelurcher · 09/09/2021 10:58

Uh oh, what CAN I post later then when my 4yo goes for his first afternoon at school?!

Was totes going with
And just like that this one starts school #feelingblessed #smashedit

CounsellorTroi · 09/09/2021 11:02

The birthday greetings to young adult children “”Happy birthday x I’m so proud of the man/woman you’ve become”. However the children concerned are often nothing to write home about. It’s the same as couples who gushily wish each other happy birthday/anniversary and say how much they love each other. Often not a reflection of reality.

I know I sound like a bitch.

Smash is the latest social media buzzword

Agreed. Too many to count; it's social media language.

As long as it doesn't make you "shake" and "fume", you're alright!

Reallyreallyborednow · 09/09/2021 11:07

I work in safeguarding (we often look at social media for indications and evidence) and we have a general rule of thumb that the gushier a facebook relationship is the more likely it is to be abusive. It they have a couples page “janeandmark smith” instead of individual ones- huge red flag.

Stumpholecavern · 09/09/2021 11:11

I have an irrational hatred of 'just like that' too! Is anyone else old enough to read it in a Tommy Cooper voice?
