IME yes, hence why I no longer drink!

Howshouldibehave · 08/09/2021 21:51

No, not necessarily-sometimes it’s a load of old shite!

Wandafishcake · 08/09/2021 21:52

I don’t. I just say the first thing that comes into my head. Usually it’s a load of bollocks.

toconclude · 08/09/2021 21:54

@Chrissmasjammies

In vino veritasWink
Lazy saying and not necessarily true.
Bluntness100 · 08/09/2021 21:54

As others said sometimes, sometimes when you’re drunk you have the balls or lack of inhibition to say what you’d hesitate to say sober. Other times you talk proper shite and get all soppy or bullshitty.

Just see if he says it when he’s sober. Then you will know.

Sillawithans · 08/09/2021 21:58

He says nice things to me when sober too.
He always says nice things to me and we get on very well.
Ah well, nothing will happen.

This is interesting. I definitely speak the truth when drunk, but I speak the truth when sober as well - I just hold back more in the interests of diplomacy and have to be careful that I don't disclose too much when drunk. I had assumed others were the same but perhaps drink just exaggerates our natural inclinations / personality - so people who lie or bullshit others will go even further when drunk?

Thursa · 08/09/2021 22:11

My dad was a spiteful bastard with a drink in him, which was most of the time. If he was telling the truth he really didn’t think much of us at all.

frumpety · 08/09/2021 22:13

Are you both in a relationship with someone else ? or just you or just him ? or both single ?

I worked behind a bar for quite a while and was the unwitting eavesdropper on quite a few innapropriate declaration's of love. A lot of people, when they have had a drink or five, like to think there is another romantic future other than the one they have.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 08/09/2021 22:16

I really don’t think I do! I talk absolute shit!

Doubledoorsontogarden · 08/09/2021 22:20

I don’t know or care but I wish my DH would shut the fuck up

Sillawithans · 08/09/2021 22:27

@DukeOfEarlGrey I am exactly the same as you.

@frumpety one of us is in a relationship.

NigellasCookalong · 08/09/2021 22:43

No I chat absolute shite when I’m drunk. Will literally start talking about scenarios that never happened. This is why I don’t drink anymore.

NigellasCookalong · 08/09/2021 22:44

Have also been known to declare my love for people I definitely don’t and never have loved.

RealBecca · 08/09/2021 22:47

If youre in a relationship but you wpuld ru away woth another man tomorrow thats horrible.

If hes in a relationship and sais that to you would you really want a man like that.

SteveArnottsWaistcoat · 08/09/2021 22:47

I just talk pure shite and tend to intensely love everyone and everything. So fucking annoying.

XenoBitch · 08/09/2021 22:48

Dutch courage to tell the truth, or to tell a lie. Either way is a possibility.

CantChatNow · 08/09/2021 22:54

No if I was wrecked I’d tell the postman I was in love with him.
As soon as I read your first post I knew this would be about someone telling you they had feelings for you. You need to talk to him sober and see if he still feels the same!

BobMortimersPetOwl · 08/09/2021 23:13

Not necessarily. I hear the biggest load of bollocks cone from the mouths of those who are rat arsed.

BobMortimersPetOwl · 08/09/2021 23:13

Come, not cone

Twofurrycats · 08/09/2021 23:26

Possibly. But I wouldn't be making any life changing decisions based on drunk conversations.

Lalliella · 08/09/2021 23:34

Run OP. But not with him. Away from him. Nothing good will come of this. One or both of you and/or the other person will get hurt.

DogsandCatsB4u · 08/09/2021 23:48

No I use to lie when I was drunk

youvegottenminuteslynn · 08/09/2021 23:48

So either you want to cheat on your partner or he wants to cheat on his.

Doesn't sound like a relationship based on anything positive tbh.

Sillawithans · 09/09/2021 06:44

No one wants to cheat on anyone, that won't be happening.
