Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

Babyliss Big Hair styler - I've ditched the straightness and can have what looks like a salon blow dry anytime I like.

Twiceover · 24/08/2021 12:42

Lakeland heated airer. Love being able to put a load of washing on and have it dry overnight.

LynetteScavo · 24/08/2021 12:45

And Amazon Prime. I thought everyone had it, but it seems not.

Dbank · 24/08/2021 12:59

Star Miele automatic dosing washing machine, can't imagine why all machines aren't designed this way.

Star Induction hob, fast, responsive, easy to clean, independent timers on each ring. I'm never going back to gas.

Star Fissler Pressure cooker, works like time machine.

Star Ecowater water softener, would never have a house in the south east without one.

Star Weber Gas BBQ, used all year round, still looks good after 15 years.

Star Dyson hair dryer, brilliant.

Star Philips Hue lighting system, with motion detectors. No more arguments about leaving the bathroom lights on!

Star Synology Wifi Router, great coverage, lots of features, VPN, web safe, threat detection, fail over to mobile etc.

Weighted blanket - I dont know why or how it works but I sleep like a baby when I use it. Got mine cheap from Aldi.

My Kindle - I always vowed that I would never have a Kindle and stick with real books but now I am completely converted. I still love real books but now I enjoy having a Kindle to take anywhere. I still buy the odd 'real' book but only if it's a special one.

Ugg slippers - best slippers I have ever bought.

Oodie - l love mine, I do look like a giant square in it but in the winter it is so warm and comforting.

My digital drawing tablet. Now I cant draw to save my life but always wanted to learn digital art and got a tablet for my birthday. It's great if I am feeling stressed and really helps me focus - even though I am drawing basic stuff.

I saw someone mentioned Olaplex - that is something I would like to try one day as I have heard good things about that.

amatsip · 24/08/2021 13:11

Nail scissors in my handbag pocket, so handy when we are out and about, opening things, taking tags of cuddlies daughter insists on holding straight after purchase, loose strings etc. Just nice to always know a pair is close by.

Arrowheart · 24/08/2021 13:23

Minimalism here too. Things and people. Game changer.

diamondpony80 · 24/08/2021 13:25

Soup maker - We never seem to finish the veg we buy so now instead of throwing it out I can throw it all in the soup maker and 20 minutes later we have soup!

Collagen powder - I've been experiencing hair loss for years and my nails were really weak and peeling and breaking really easily earlier this year. No supplements were doing the trick until I got collagen. Just a spoonful in my coffee every day has made a massive difference to my hair loss (not falling out anymore) and my nails are back to normal with no more breaking.

Atomic Habits book by James Clear - some great tips for getting more done in the day and better use of my time.

Catscrat · 24/08/2021 13:35

Rapidbrow has grown my eyebrows back after I overplucked them as a teenager - am actually amazed at the difference!

Meal-planning for the week while I do the online shop, saves time, money and excess trips to the supermarket.

undersleptagain · 24/08/2021 13:38

Reversing camera in my car, I love it.
AEG fan oven, it is literally the best oven I have ever owned, and I am quite old and I do a lot of cooking so I have used a lot of ovens over the years!

Givemethatknife · 24/08/2021 13:48

Dishwasher
Drier
Air fryer
Chucking out crap regularly
Having a cleaner
Having a bookkeeper
Cook ready meals
All the exciting things…

Popetthetreehugger · 24/08/2021 13:52

Another one for swimsuits , mine has legs to a long mid thigh . I’m happy to sea swim now 🙌 and meal replacement shakes , only have if the alternative is a rubbish meal deal sandwich or not feeling the love for what’s in the fridge … it’s totally effort free and clothes fit that haven’t in a couple of years ! But the rest of the time I carry on as normal… meals out , wine 🍷

PamDenick · 24/08/2021 13:56

Meal boxes for us...

Bohemond · 24/08/2021 14:03

Mine is very simple. I do the food shopping on the same day every week. I am self employed so used to do it as and when. Now that I do it on the same day every week I know exactly how many meals I need to buy, what I need to stock up on (rotation) and we waste hardly anything.

My amazon prime , audible and spotify subscriptions keep me sane !

ErickBroch · 24/08/2021 14:12

My Bose noise-cancelling over the ear headphones. Four years and I still use them every day. Made commuting a dream and I still love them at home when doing the housework or cooking.

LadyDanburysHat · 24/08/2021 14:20

Definitely Eufy robovac. Love having clean looking carpets all the time.

chaos76 · 24/08/2021 14:22

Washing machine with huge 9kg drum and 1400 spin makes doing laundry so much easier

TerraNovaTwo · 24/08/2021 14:38

FatCatThinCat · 24/08/2021 14:53

Robot lawnmower. Our lawn is the size of a football pitch (slight exaggeration) that took most of a Saturday to cut. Now it's pristine with no effort from me. Love it.

starrynight87 · 24/08/2021 15:20

ForeverInADay · 24/08/2021 15:33

Ladies Board shorts (surfing shorts) for swimming. I just can't understand why they aren't more popular?

Just back from holiday and I wore them every day for swimming with a swimming costume.
