Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

@Macncheeseballs and @Nottheduchess yes, they go over rugs / room dividers etc and yes, from room to room.

JedEye · 29/08/2021 09:43

Well I’ve been wanting a robovac for about 4 years but the costs were over £400 at the time and DH scoffed that it’s just a gimmick so it remained in my Amazon basket. Until today!

Due to a combination of the low price and the ongoing MN glowing reviews, I have ordered the Eufy 11s max. It arrives tomorrow. Can’t believe how excited I am about it! Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/08/2021 09:56

Out of interest how much vacuuming does your dh do @JedEye?.

Tiddleandplonk · 29/08/2021 10:06

Lincslady53 who did it for you please. We are thinking of this but lots of builders were we live are not the best.

52andblue · 29/08/2021 11:52

@OohThatCat

Ooh also Lakeland heated airer, it’s amazing for winter, I used to hate putting washing on radiators. Now I put on some washing in the evening, put it on the airer before bed, set the timer for 12 hours and in the morning it’s dry! And no extra humidity in my already damp and humid old house!
@OohThatCat

Do you use one with a cover? can you link to it please?
(also live in damp old house & in Scotland so rains all the time...)

SwimmingUnderwater · 29/08/2021 12:52

I have ordered the Eufy too. It arrives today!

mommybear1 · 29/08/2021 13:28

@lifeinlimbo2020 thank you I am having a good look at them today! Exciting times 🤣🤣

lifeinlimbo2020 · 29/08/2021 13:35

@mommybear1 living the dream 🤣🙌🏻

OohThatCat · 29/08/2021 14:02

@52andblue - Here it is! I got a recommendation from a friend and love it, soon as you open the cover after it's been drying, you can feel how warm the air is inside!

OohThatCat · 29/08/2021 14:03

@52andblue Forgot to day - also handy if you want to wash say a duvet cover, you can pop that over it instead of the cover and dry it at the same time!

RainbowZebraWarrior · 29/08/2021 14:24

Just had a 2nd Eufy Max delivered. Taking it round to my Mums now as it's a surprise for her. She has bowel cancer and a hernia. She recently bought a stupid heavy ball Dyson, which neither me nor her are capable of using. This is going to be a game changer for her. So excited!

Happy Eufy day to those who also have them coming today.

BornToBeWilde · 29/08/2021 14:39

If you have stairs how do you stop a robotic vacuum from committing Hari Kari?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 29/08/2021 14:50

My kettle. It automatically dispenses water, so no need for me to lift it with my weak wrists. (Disabled)

Rollator. A zimmerframe on wheels. Takes the jolt out of walking, as when using crutches they hurt my arms. Don't have that issue with the rollator, and it means I've somewhere to sit when my legs inevitably give out on me.

Slow cooker. I make all sorts in it.

VickyEadieofThigh · 29/08/2021 14:56

@NotThatSocial

Mirena coil Literally changed my life. My periods went from ridiculously heavy, intense pain to the point I hallucinated on occasion, feeling depressed, swollen glands, pounding head, you name it to about 36 hours of light bleeding, mild cramps and slightly low mood.

A new hairbrush from Avon recently. I have long hair that's fine but lots of it and it tangles really easily. This is the first brush I've ever had that gets through it easily without hurting me and pulling a load of hair out.

Exactly the same for me with Mirena! I'd been grey with pain for 10 or 11 days out of every 23 (I am not exaggerating) for years before I found a woman GP who took me seriously.

Out of interest how much vacuuming does your dh do *@JedEye*?.
Yes my thoughts exactly! It’s not going to benefit him is it.
Fluffycloudland77 · 29/08/2021 15:03

It is not.

polishthatfloor · 29/08/2021 15:07

A previous thread like this prompted me to buy a bamboo eye mask to sleep in. Whilst I take it off at some point in the night through over heating it's made nodding off a cinch. A clothes de-fuzzer has been less successful Grin

JedEye · 29/08/2021 15:09

I’m on a roll, just got back from shopping. I might have purchased some books I’ve seen on this thread..

  • A Pinch of Nom
  • Atomic Habits

Coming soon.. a better version of me! Grin

Any recipe suggestions?

Having a Tupperware cereal container in the car with a scented bin liner in it. The kids can put all their wrappers and things in it and my car stays like a car and less like a skip on wheels

Twitchynose · 29/08/2021 16:23

Eufy has arrived! Currently wondering if Amazon/Eufy store are currently pondering the sudden urge in sales. I think they need to invent some sort of drone duster next Grin Resisting the urge to unpack until I’ve actually found the floor again in the lounge…
New game changer discovered - Saalt soft menstrual cup, had a different brand but couldn’t get on with it as I found it too stiff to fold with my slightly dodgy hands. Still got my Dixie Cup steamer which is fab though sterilises it in 3 mins.

Porridgeislife · 29/08/2021 16:37

I’ve just made an order for a Flat Lay bag & Olaplex thanks to this thread.

Life changing for me:

  • Revlon One Step, amazing for my fine frizzy hair
  • Microbladed eyebrows plus regular lash & brow tinting. I’m very blonde & don’t need to wear lash/brow makeup now
  • A good webcam (Logitech C920) and wireless headset (Plantronics Voyager), along with a Dell dock, vastly improved WFH. The dock means it seamlessly connects to either personal or work laptop
FuckingFabulous · 29/08/2021 17:10

@MapleMay11

Tretinoin - for the skin of my dreams!
Where did you get it from?
SwimmingUnderwater · 29/08/2021 17:16

The Eify is at work. I am wondering how long before it breaks?! What is the guarantee in it? Cat is seriously freaked out.

FuckingFabulous · 29/08/2021 17:40

My daughter says her walking stick from NeoWalk was a game changer for her. Made her feel less like she was pitiful and more like she had a cool accessory. Hers is a glittery one with a light in the base. I would suggest them to anyone who needs a bit of help walking around and doesn't want a traditional OAP accessory. It's boosted confidence here no end
