Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

@Zazazaz and @RainbowZebraWarrior - you won't regret it!!

Vanishun · 26/08/2021 20:35

Lots of these! Also, thanks to mumsnet, an understanding of autism in women that led to my diagnosis and then my husband's.

And then a recommendation for Melatonin gummies from Biovea which has helped him sleep deeply for the first time ever really.

aquamarine1 · 26/08/2021 20:38

Thanks @starlight13 much appreciated!

MsFogi · 26/08/2021 20:53

@olivethegreat

Eufy definitely! Love him.

Nespresso, I never buy coffee out now just take it with me

Period pants for dd when she started periods just turned 9, total life saver . She's older now and has zillions!

But my main one is a heated plug in mat for period pain, helps both of us and I can now work on period days instead of often calling in sick. And I'm about to use it on my arsing aching hip after a day out! Was recommended by someone on here and has transformed my pain!

@olivethegreat can you tell me what the mat is/where I can get one?
SwimmingUnderwater · 26/08/2021 21:11

@godmum56

oh and water gel crystals mixed in with the soil in all my plant pots....water less often and use less water.
Where can I get these? Never heard of them!
Gwlondon · 26/08/2021 21:31

@juliainthedeepwater

I’ve just bought my first mooncup and have a feeling I might be kicking myself for using pads and tampons for about 20 years!!
Same for me! Mooncup. It has really made a difference for me.
Stevie6 · 26/08/2021 22:05
@Stevie6 I've never taken the gummies so can't compare. I think you need to do a side by side of the amount of collagen in them to really know.
My chance you can link the one you have (again?) please

Twitchynose · 26/08/2021 22:06

@MsFogi I don’t know if this is what olivethegreat was referring to, but I have the older version of this www.amazon.co.uk/Beurer-Comfort-Heating-Fleece-Finish/dp/B00AAW1VKQ/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=heat+pad&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1630011502&sr=8-8 that I use for my neck/upper back pain. Tuck it behind me on the sofa or under me in bed on a bad day. Mine has various heat levels and switches off automatically after a set time. They come in different sizes too.

@smallgoon

The GHD straighteners that I purchased in 2004 which are still going strong.

My £100 Which Best Buy coffee machine which means I never have to spend £££ on coffee in London anymore, since I work from home. *Lavazza Jolie Plus in case anyone cares

Tarte Shape tape concealer which covers a multitude of sins!

I have the same coffee maker and agree!

I’ve googled Tarte Shape Tape and see it’a a concealer, but I can’t work out why it’s called “Tarte Shape Tape”. It’s not tape, it doesn’t change the shape of anything and who wants makeup called “Tarte”?! Can anybody explain? Grin

HaveringWavering · 27/08/2021 08:45

@Window1

I can't believe how many people have a robot hoover.
I bought mine after the last thread like this! Love it! They are also come down in price very significantly in the last couple of years.
rockyIV · 27/08/2021 09:13

Yeti coolers. Will keep coffee hot literally all day. Game changing with a newborn Wink.

Amazon/Alexa plugs. Programme certain things to come on and off at certain times or control it all through the app. I use them with my hair straighteners. Never ever have to worry about "did I leave my straighteners on and burn my house down this morning?".

Realising I can actually take our buggy with me for a run. Baby loves it and sleeps the entire time and I don't have to wait until evening to cram a run/shower/hairdry in before love island.

Air fryer Multi USB plug Wireless headphones Magnetic white board with clip in pen Bulk buying loo roll/washing powder online Tumble dryer Philips Lumea Retinol/vitamin C tonic Olaplex bonding oil MAC high lighter powder Benefit make up setter High wasted buttery soft leggings off Amazon. Thick material, don't fall fall down and not see-through

I really want a robot vacuum!

Great tip about the multi USB plug - that's gone in my Amazon basket! Please could you link to the leggings? Thanks Smile
Confusedmeanderings · 27/08/2021 12:20

Automatic watering system for the garden - never have to do the watering and plants are still watered when we're away on holiday.

Pyrolitic oven - no more oven cleaning

My electric blanket!

Like many others, my kindle.

Rear parking sensors.

I was wondering about a robot vacuum, but then I looked at all the toys our new kitten has lying around and thought maybe that would have to wait!

coodawoodashooda · 27/08/2021 12:28

Yeah id like the leggings link too.

ProfessionalWeirdo · 27/08/2021 14:08

In my case it was being colour-analysed, and finding out exactly which colours and styles suited me (and, just as important, which didn't).

3luckystars · 27/08/2021 14:23

Wheee would a person get colour analysed and is it very expensive?

Lockdownlumpy · 27/08/2021 14:34

@diamondpony80

Soup maker - We never seem to finish the veg we buy so now instead of throwing it out I can throw it all in the soup maker and 20 minutes later we have soup!

Collagen powder - I've been experiencing hair loss for years and my nails were really weak and peeling and breaking really easily earlier this year. No supplements were doing the trick until I got collagen. Just a spoonful in my coffee every day has made a massive difference to my hair loss (not falling out anymore) and my nails are back to normal with no more breaking.

Atomic Habits book by James Clear - some great tips for getting more done in the day and better use of my time.

@diamondpony80 please tell me more about the collagen! My hair has been thinning for a while and my nails could do with some help too. Which brand do you use?
ProfessionalWeirdo · 27/08/2021 14:37

I had it done a long time ago. It was arranged by a friend and I'm afraid I can't remember what it cost. But maybe this might help:

Twitchynose · 27/08/2021 17:45

What have you done to me?! Eufy is being delivered tomorrow. Just need to clear some floorspace so I can actually use it now!

SwimmingUnderwater · 27/08/2021 17:47

Please keep us posted! I just couldn’t be bothered moving everything off the floor and unplugging everything first.
