Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

@Lndnmummy thanks for the discount code! I’ve given this a go Smile

Hanswurst · 26/08/2021 13:09

@OohThatCat thanks, I think I’m finally going to treat my laundry to one! The stress of drying all the washing all winter is definitely worth the price!

@Mum233 I guess I’ll have to keep searching! Thanks anyway!

aquamarine1 · 26/08/2021 13:23

Could you share the products please @starlight13? They sound great!

QueenBee52 · 26/08/2021 13:49

@sheepisheep

Sleepphones! Flat headphones you can wear in bed. Brilliant for playing something quietly to help you fall asleep.

Thought of three other things:

  1. Stasher bags. Absolute game changer. They keep things fresher for longer and I'm not constantly using sandwich bags and causing more landfill.

  2. Too Good to Go app. I have had some bargain hauls from here, it helps me go longer between shops and it's a low-risk way of feeding toddler DS new foods.

  3. My local "Buy Nothing" group. I've decluttered my house, met some interesting people and bagged some amazing freebies. The best ones were a woman chucking out all her designer clothes who gave me a bin bag full - well over $1k worth of stuff, a grab bag of makeup from an overwhelmed beauty editor who was also a stressed toddler Mum and a GIANT cherry tomato plant from a fellow ex-pat.

I'm working on being more sustainable and these things have really helped.

Poptasmagorical · 26/08/2021 14:06

Sorry if this has already been asked but I've read as much of the thread as I can.

What is life changing about the robot vacuum and how do I tell DH that I need one?

And is there a robot that picks up all of the toys first? Wink

wizzywig · 26/08/2021 14:08

@mum233, I thought you said threesome

CoRhona · 26/08/2021 14:39

@Poptasmagorical in the summer I started a thread on most useful lockdown things and the robot vacuum came up time and time again. I read the reviews, looked on Amazon and they were pretty much all fab too.

On the back of those, I bought one. It was the easiest thing to set up - and it bumbles around cleaning the carpets and floors, under sofas and over doorways. It does a fantastic job and the carpets have never looked so clean. It's on a timer so it just sets off at the allocated time and when it's running out of battery it makes its own way back to its base.

We currently have balloons on the floor due to a recent birthday, it gently nudged them out of the way.

DH says if it broke he'd buy another one tomorrow.

We LOVE it ❤️

WhoIsPepeSilva · 26/08/2021 15:00

Are robo vacs good with pet hair?

Dellaandthedealer · 26/08/2021 15:32

Vitamix blender
Fit Flop shoes, don’t wear anything else now, expensive but they have good sales
Kitchen Aid, I can do a decent Victoria sponge now!

CoRhona · 26/08/2021 15:49

@WhoIsPepeSilva don't have pets but are great with human long hair!

CaveMum · 26/08/2021 15:58

I’ve purchased collagen powder. I blame you lot entirely.

WhoIsPepeSilva · 26/08/2021 16:55

@CoRhonda thanks. Me too so that's a bonus, have to take the nail scissors to my upright regularly... how am I not bald yet?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 26/08/2021 17:50

@holidaynearlyover I've been looking all day and finally settled on the Eufy 11S for the reasons set out on the two screenshots below - one states it's their most powerful one. Other states it's great for pet hair which @WhoIsPepeSilva might be interested to know (plus £80 off currently on Eufy website and Amazon- so only £159 for a very limited time) I think it only goes a tenner less than that on Black Friday

Laser hair removal
Parlux hairdryer
Bibado

FangsForTheMemory · 26/08/2021 19:18

@SwimmingUnderwater this one but there are loads of different models available www.coffeefriend.co.uk/p/coffee-machine-delonghi-ecam-23-120/

Stevie6 · 26/08/2021 19:19

@allfurcoatnoknickers I take starpowa collagen gummies, do you think a powder is better?

HaveringWavering · 26/08/2021 19:21

@marleyandme

I agree with all the robot vac comments.

Contact lenses - no idea how I coped so long without them now really.

Laser eye surgery! I often forget that I spent 20 years with glasses and contacts before I got it done!
holidaynearlyover · 26/08/2021 19:46

@RainbowZebraWarrior ooh thanks for your research!!

Zazazaz · 26/08/2021 19:50

Ok so I've just bought a eufy before the stock runs out! Thanks everyone. Funnily though, Amazon have the 11s at 129.99 just now which seems like a good deal. I'm beside myself with excitement!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 26/08/2021 19:50

@Stevie6 I've never taken the gummies so can't compare. I think you need to do a side by side of the amount of collagen in them to really know.
