To feel personally attacked re: my semi negligent parenting by Blueys parents

How do they have the energy to play with their kids ALLLLL the time.

All the kit. The little games. The fun ideas. I do play with my kids obviously but good grief. More than 10 minutes role play and I want to to gouge my eyes out.

Light hearted obvs Blush

I often put the Grannies episode on for DS before bed; well the Grannies is really for me but the creek episode after is so chill it makes him sleepy.

I often wish I had more energy/patience to play daft games with him as the Heelers do!

What I love is how although the parents are pretty perfect, they’re also quite real as well. So Bluey’s dad will say “what’s a game I can play lying down?” and I loved the one where their friend the Dalmatian tried to get his dad to play the game but he kept getting it wrong.
Oh and I LOVE the one where Bingo is late and that means she meets her friend at Pre school for the first time and then it montages into them knowing each other for years and years.
It’s such a good show, poignant without being cheesy.

Menissues · 25/08/2021 11:45

Ahhh I don't have Disney plus. Blush

@Doghairismyglitter

I LOVELOVELOVE Bluey. Me and DC watch 1 episode before bed all together each night. It’s the only children’s show I’ll happily watch. The episode where Bingo learns to sleep alone and dreams that Chilli her Mum is the Sun; makes me cry every.single.time 😭 So many episodes make me happy cry actually! Plus the Takeaway episode is genius, I have felt like Bandit one hundred times over 😂

My 3 year old pretends to be the “crazy pillow” constantly. And I’m forever getting “dinged”! I like to think I play with my boys a LOT actually and have a lot of silliness, the show actually gives me ideas, it’s bloody brilliant. Die hard fan I am now Grin

Haha my DD 3 also loves to pretend to be the 'crazy pillow', so much that she introduces her name as pillow now these days
KatieKat88 · 25/08/2021 12:53

@Menissues it's on Cbeebies in the morning too Smile

cleckheatonwanderer · 25/08/2021 13:24

I think it's on BBC Iplayer too?

CaveMum · 25/08/2021 13:53

Some episodes are on iPlayer, they only leave about a dozen or so up at a time - I regularly download them onto my ipad to keep DS occupied while we are at his big sister's swimming lessons!

Laserbird16 · 25/08/2021 13:58

We must always enter the pool with a ninja kick now...very important part of learning to swim

I tried to get DS to do a tactical wee today, even showed him the video of Bingo doing the tactical wee. We usually call it going for try but it wasn't working so this thread inspired me to try tactical wee.
Let's just say it didn't go well at bedtime due to over-tiredness. Lots of tears and DS shouting "I can't do a taco wee!!!" 🤦🏻‍♀️

AllyBama · 05/09/2021 01:25

Not sure if it will air in the UK yet but I’ve just watched the new Fathers Day episode and Bandit and his mate are quietly discussing the pros and cons of a vasectomy (or canine sterilisation?!) while Bluey is playing 😂

Had me in stitches, I had to rewind it to make sure I heard what I thought I heard. Love it!

steff13 · 05/09/2021 01:27

I want to be Muffin when I grow up. "I am the flamingo queen!"

CakeyCakeyCakeCake · 05/09/2021 01:36

Best part about emigrating to Australia Grin

LittleMG · 05/09/2021 12:19

The whole program is their dad being driven mad by them having to make up games all day. I find it exhausting just watching it!

Clackyheels · 05/09/2021 20:34

I bloody love bluey. Kids love it as well Grin we do do dance mode. But in the house.

Simonjt · 05/09/2021 20:41

We love Bluey, its one of the few shows that turns my son into a lovely quiet TV zombie.

Meatshake · 05/09/2021 20:48

"Hey kid, you know how I said you're the most special kid in the universe?"

"Yeh dad?"

"Yeh, well... You're not"

/\ puts me and husband into hysterics every time 🤣

Ireolu · 05/09/2021 20:50

Who else has been asked to open the lid and pit their finger in it...DD cackles her head off :).

PaperDolphin · 05/09/2021 21:05

Omg same.

GailTheSnail · 05/09/2021 21:22

Bluey is the one show both my kids (18months and 4years) love. If we're watching it as a family, we all have to do the dance moves in the intro tune too. It's class

Although, no, I do not have the energy for that amount of energetic play all day

RedPandaFluff · 05/09/2021 21:46

Ahhhhh Bluey is a hit in our house too! Bandit dad-dancing at the start of the theme-tune Grin
