How do they have the energy to play with their kids ALLLLL the time.

All the kit. The little games. The fun ideas. I do play with my kids obviously but good grief. More than 10 minutes role play and I want to to gouge my eyes out.

Light hearted obvs Blush

But he does look knackered!

guiltynetter · 23/08/2021 21:50

Bluey is my absolute favourite but I do sometimes worry my kids are watching it thinking I wish my mum and dad were a bit more like that 🙈

The charades one always makes me cry when they say everyone gets what they want at nanas house 🥰

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 23/08/2021 21:50

I wish chilli and bandit were my mum and dad.

It is a bit dodgy though when I suggest to my 5 year old that we put a “bluey on” though Confused

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 23/08/2021 21:50

@Cannes12

I honestly think Bluey was commissioned by the Austrialian government to teach macho Aussie men how to be nurturing parents.
Maybe not commissioned but I did hear that it's had an impact on parenting. I love watching it with my DGS and the fact that he does the dance in the opening titles along with the bum wiggle
Narwhalsh · 23/08/2021 21:57

Bluey is brilliant and I will not hear one bad word said against it! DH takes the lions share of our childcare and he definitely feels empowered after watching it

TempName01 · 23/08/2021 21:59

I love Bluey too, I cried at the one where she makes a friend on holiday

APurpleSquirrel · 23/08/2021 22:00

We love Bluey! We watch several episodes before bedtime. We've all started using phrases from it & playing some of the games.
However, Shaun can fuck off! Angry

SteppinOutwithMyBaby · 23/08/2021 22:00

They're heelers: Australian cattle dogs have boundless energy and enthusiasm. They also like to make sure that everyone does what they think is right.

BlueyandBingo · 23/08/2021 22:06

They are the most fun parents ever…..

Figmentofimagination · 23/08/2021 22:09

Just reading these comments to my DH and he is laughing and agreeing with everything. He loves the grannies.
He's just reminded me that my DSIS and BIL watch at least 2 episodes a day, not with my nephew as he is too young, just for themselves.

Lottle · 23/08/2021 22:14

I fancy the dad. Blush

JustcameoutGC · 23/08/2021 22:19

I was triggered to buy a bissel spot remover as my kids have taken to dragging their bare arses across the carpet, sofas, pouffe etc because of Bluey.

JustcameoutGC · 23/08/2021 22:21

But DP prefers it infinelity to peppa "shit fat useless daddy" pig

NotSonicTheHedgehog · 23/08/2021 22:28

I have a tattoo of Bandit Blush

Greyrootszerohoots · 23/08/2021 22:28

Bluey is the new Duggee for me!

NotagainTuesday · 23/08/2021 22:30

@Figmentofimagination I was in bits watching Baby Race. My DS was always the last to do things in our baby group but in his own time he did sit, bum shuffle, crawl and walk. Other mums would prop him up to encourage him to sit but I just sat there and hugged him most of the time because I had the impending doom of work returning well before the others.

I also love the Takeaway, BBQ Salad, Claw, Sleepytime & Grannies episodes! And the one where Bingo is in hospital and Bluey & Bandit do a video for her!

Chilli & I work in a very similar field which I love :)

IfIHaveToTellYouAgain · 23/08/2021 22:33

Oh my goodness… Bluey 😍
My kids have fought like cat and dog their whole lives (almost 6 and almost 5) despite me trying everything to get them to play nicely together. 8 weeks after discovering Bluey it’s like we live in a different house! They’re actually nice to each other! And they can play co-operatively and solve their own disputes!
I love it!
Bandit and Chilli are awesome parents and I want to be them 🤣

VanGoSunflowers · 23/08/2021 22:34

I am rubbish at playing with my child. Really rubbish at it.

And Bing can suck a fat one

pecanmix · 23/08/2021 22:35

Oh god I love bluey more than my kid does hahaha

Doghairismyglitter · 23/08/2021 22:35

@NotSonicTheHedgehog OMG please post a photo 🙏🏼

IGuessIdProbablyBeAnne · 23/08/2021 22:36

I love Bluey. The parents aren’t perfect - the episode where they watch screens all weekend, another where Bandit says about playing the game where “Dad reads the newspaper”.

The “early baby” episode makes me cry, having had both DD and DS prematurely (32 and 33 weeks). In the episode, Bluey’s friend says the nurses must tell her to go home, but she doesn’t want to leave the baby in hospital.

“Be the bravest you’ve ever been”.

Reminds me of how hard it was to leave my babies in NICU. Thankfully, both healthy now.

VanGoSunflowers · 23/08/2021 22:38

But have you all discovered Storybots?? That show is epic.

There is one episode and Snoop Dogg (actual rapper bloke - Snoop Dogg) appears to teach you about how computers work. It’s amazing.

Iveputmyselfonthenaughtystep · 23/08/2021 22:39

I am grateful every freaking day for the tactical wee. Dd 6 just will NOT go for a wee unless she's half wetting herself already, until DS9 suggested she went for a tactical wee before we went out. She did it immediately. Me, DP and ExH all adopted it and I only found out weeks later it was from Bluey. I'd been giving DS all the bloody credit.
Which he lost when he started Zinging me and his sister on a regular basis. Grrr.

Stripey3000 · 23/08/2021 22:39

I wish I could be mates with Chilli and Bandit Grin

FrangipaniBlue · 23/08/2021 22:47

I no longer have a small child but feel like after reading this thread I need to watch Bluey......

Sneaks off to add it to watchlist for next time I'm on the turbo trainer......
