To never have biscuits in the house?

Me and my OH don't like biscuits so never buy them. So no-one is offered a biscuit when they come round.

So what's the problem ?

SmidgenofaPigeon · 22/08/2021 18:02

Ok.

BlackInk · 22/08/2021 18:03

I think it's polite and welcoming to have something to offer to anyone who pops in for a cup of tea or coffee. Do you offer something instead of biscuits?

BlackInk · 22/08/2021 18:03

In fact, the instant anyone knocks at the door my DC hopefully get the biscuit tin out...

We never have them either, me and the kids don’t like them, I don’t get the love for them, cake on the other hand 😏

LavenderPink · 22/08/2021 18:05

Fair enough

sittingonacornflake · 22/08/2021 18:05

I really fancy a cup of tea and some biscuits now.

thistimelastweek · 22/08/2021 18:06

We have to buy biscuits specially if people are staying.
Casual visitors don't get one.

sittingonacornflake · 22/08/2021 18:06

Also do you really not like ANY biscuits? Have you tried them all?

I mean, they do chocolate covered biscuits....

AutistGoth · 22/08/2021 18:06

Same at my childhood home. My Ddad just never bought treats - he didn't believe in buying them. Said it was a waste of money.

Not BU. Glad to hear that you are not contributing to food waste etc.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 22/08/2021 18:07

I get those Cornish crunchers from M&S. they’re not sweet, they’re made of cheese. They don’t always make it as far as being offered to anyone else though.

Singinghollybob · 22/08/2021 18:10

No, we never have biscuits or cake in either. We'd get some in we were expecting somebody but wouldn't have an to offer any guests turning up unannounced

LordEmsworth · 22/08/2021 18:11

If someone tries to bring biscuits in, do you turn them away or just insist they leave the biscuits outside?

PrincessNutella · 22/08/2021 18:11

WTF. Get on your quaint little English bicycle with the basket and pedal up to the High Street and get yourself a nice packet of chocolate digestives right now before the vicar rings your doorbell and shame is revealed to all the neighbours at the next Jumble Sale.

Singinghollybob · 22/08/2021 18:11

But my reason is because I love them and can't just stop at a couple so we don't have anything nice in the house as I don't have much self control

PersonaNonGarter · 22/08/2021 18:13

I don’t like coffee or whiskey or orange squash. I buy them for guests though. In case they’d ike them.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 22/08/2021 18:14

We never have them too. It's funny how people do "really😱 but what do you have with your tea!?" And then give up on me when I say that I not only don't eat biscuits more than couple of times a year (just not into them, cake is a different matter ha) but also don't drink black/milky tea😂😂😂

I'm with you, OP. We never have biscuits in the house.

userxx · 22/08/2021 18:16

Biscuitless house here too.

LavenderPink · 22/08/2021 18:16

What will you do if the Queen pops in unexpectedly for a cup of tea?

Bythemillpond · 22/08/2021 18:18

We don’t eat biscuits or cake.
But there again no one ever visits us

Did do a too good to go mystery bag and gave most of it away or chucked it as it just wouldn’t get eaten.
Dh kept a lemon cake and said he thought he might eat a slice or 2.
I threw it out when I noticed through the unopened packaging that it was growing green freckles

LaurieFairyCake · 22/08/2021 18:18

I reckon I've got about twenty different packets of biscuits here

I went to IKEA yesterday to buy all the different types they have too

We like biscuits 🍪
