To never have biscuits in the house?

Me and my OH don't like biscuits so never buy them. So no-one is offered a biscuit when they come round.

I don’t buy biscuits because I will eat them all in one sitting if I do.

In fact I’ve just snarfed some biscuits we were given by a guest.

Biscuits are my downfall.

JaninaDuszejko · 22/08/2021 18:20

I make biscuits and cakes if we have invited people over but I don't like to have biscuits in the house for no reason because I just end up eating them.

TheSockMonster · 22/08/2021 18:22

We like biscuits, but we also have no will power so they only get bought when we are expecting company.

We do keep squash and “proper” coffee (what my MIL calls instant coffee) for unexpected visitors, so we’re not total bastards.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 22/08/2021 18:22

I love a biscuit or 4 but I wouldn't trust a non biscuit eater's biscuits because they never seal them properly if they have been opened previously and they insist they are fresh and not soft Grin.

Marmelace · 22/08/2021 18:23

We have multipacks of chocolate instead, nothing better than sicking tea through a twix.

Marmelace · 22/08/2021 18:23

Sucking not sicking!!!

Wombat64 · 22/08/2021 18:23

No biscuits here.

I eat them if they are in the house. The shop ones pretty much all have palm oil in them too.

PumpkinPie2016 · 22/08/2021 18:27

I don't buy biscuits routinely as we would just eat them if I did.

I will buy some if I know we have people coming thoughGrin

It wouldn't bother me not to be offered a biscuit with my tea at someone's house.

JanisJ · 22/08/2021 18:31

My MIL is aghast when she comes here and we only have normal tea, no cake/biscuits/fancy teas.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 22/08/2021 18:35

DP's probably got some stashed in a cupboard somewhere. I don't care one way or the other, as I can't stand the things. Mochi, though - now that I'd be happy to have in the house all the time.

lboogy · 22/08/2021 18:37

I don't have biscuits in the house either on account or not having a sweet tooth. I only recently started buying plain crackers for my D.C.

BarbaraofSeville · 22/08/2021 18:38

@LavenderPink

What will you do if the Queen pops in unexpectedly for a cup of tea?
I'd offer her a G&T, we always have that in an I hear she likes it.

We never have biscuits in, because if we have them in, we eat them, so would only ever have biscuits for visitors if it was by prior arrangement.

MostlyNormalSometimesOdd · 22/08/2021 18:39

We don’t keep them in our house either.
I mean, we buy them, a pack or two every now and then, and they go in the cupboard, but within a couple of hours DS has devoured them. He know there’s no more biscuits until we get the next big shop so then he hits the fruit bowl

Abouttimemum · 22/08/2021 18:39

We never have biscuits in the house. But this is because I’d be the size of a house end due to my sweet tooth. Plus they wouldn’t last long enough for visitors

Tcht888 · 22/08/2021 18:40

We don't have biscuits in our house either - purely because I love them so much and they actually whisper to me from the cupboard to come and eat them all in one sitting. This is obviously not good for me, so I don't buy them.

Same for crisps.

My poor children - they feel very neglected.

MadMadMadamMim · 22/08/2021 18:40

I don't have biscuits in the house. I'm not a biscuit eater.

DH occasionally mourns this fact - along with various other random things. Conversations between us often have him saying stuff like You never buy beetroot. I'm slightly bemused by this and tell him, That's because I don't like beetroot. Why would it occur to me to buy it? He then claims he loves beetroot (20+ years of marriage...I did not know this).

The thing is we do the supermarket shop together. We wander round the shops together once every couple of weeks and do a big shop. He is free to add whatever he likes to the trolley. And yet...he doesn't add beetroot or biscuits.

It makes no sense to me.

AnonymousCheerleader · 22/08/2021 18:40

I wish I didn't like biscuits...

DukeOfEarlGrey · 22/08/2021 18:41

YANBU but I once worked with someone who didn’t drink tea or coffee and nor did her husband so they didn’t even own a kettle. I told her damn straight that that made her nothing short of a heathen to me.

Peacrock · 22/08/2021 18:41

I don't buy biscuits I'd eat them all haha. I wouldn't expect biscuits at someone else's either.

AlCalavicci · 22/08/2021 18:42

Biscuit free house here too , I dont like them much but occasionally I fancy one and buy a packet , I will eat a few then the pack goes back in the cupboard to be thrown away in about two weeks time Sad

I wish I could buy packs with just a few in , like the ones you get in some cafes.

Crofu · 22/08/2021 18:42

No biscuits here (and no tea or coffee either! )

KentuckyCriedFricken · 22/08/2021 18:44

We never have them either. My dad and his new wife came to visit and were shocked we didn’t have biscuits. I just don’t see the point in them.

Mushtullo · 22/08/2021 18:46

Not here, either — partly because coffee for me is exclusively a breakfast thing, and I much prefer tea by itself, without anything eaten with it. I might bake biscuits, or cake, if I was expecting someone, but it wouldn’t occur to me to keep them in the house in case someone arrived unexpectedly with a hunger for biscuits.

Thedogscollar · 22/08/2021 18:48

Just had a nice cuppa and a choc digestive.
A drinks too wet without oneGrin

gavisconismyfriend · 22/08/2021 18:49

No biscuits in this house, I just eat them if I buy them so there’s never any for guests anyway!
