Rule given to be a God Parent

Idiotalert · 16/08/2021 12:27

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
My DD has been asked by her friend to be a God Parent to her child.
This Friend has stipulated that all the GPs have to agree to see the child on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays
or Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays.
Must agree to take said child away at least once a year. And she wants it in writing. Also proof that they were baptised
in a church. This friends wedding had silly ideas and now this. One bridesmaid was told that she needed to loose 3 stone
or not be one. Her mum wasn't in hardly any photos as she wasn't stylish??? No children at the wedding.
DD explained that as she works full time has 3 children of her own will not be able to be a GP.
Friend has now cut off DD and 2 others from the list.
Is this what the world is coming to.
I can understand that she wants people in her child's life but these rules are ridiculous.

Shes better off NC

Christ…
Iv heard of bridezilla but what fresh hell is this?

Secretsout · 16/08/2021 12:29

No it isn't what the world is coming to. This woman is a lunatic and I'd be very much unfriending her from my life.

Knittingupastorm · 16/08/2021 12:29

This Friend has stipulated that all the GPs have to agree to see the child on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays or Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays.

Some people really do live in their own little worlds, with seemingly zero awareness that other people have their own lives.

DesperateForSun · 16/08/2021 12:30

She’s batshit. Your DD is much better off without this in her life

Waspsarearseholes · 16/08/2021 12:31

Fuck that noise. If I were your daughter I'd be delighted and relieved that this nutter wasn't in my life any more. What a dick.

MindyStClaire · 16/08/2021 12:31

Christ. I guess it's one way to get free childcare.

TidyDancer · 16/08/2021 12:31

Wtf! I have multiple godchildren and two DC of my own. When am I supposed to fit in pesky little tasks such as eating, sleeping and working (according to that schedule)?

That woman is utterly batshit crazy.

LeopardPrintTits · 16/08/2021 12:31

Three times a week?! Other than people I live with and colleagues, I can’t think of anyone I physically see that frequently! I would definitely decline!

cathcath2 · 16/08/2021 12:31

What on earth is she talking about? Your DD is better off without her.

NinaBallerinaShoes · 16/08/2021 12:32

If the CF has two or more godparents, that’s 6 out of 7 days child care covered!

Redglitter · 16/08/2021 12:32

Does the friend realise Godparent isn't the same as childminder

Your daughters well out of that one

Alonelonelyloner · 16/08/2021 12:33

WOW. I have no words for this batshittery. I kind of hope this makes the Daily Fail, as this CF probably reads it.

AdventuresDownRabbitholes · 16/08/2021 12:34

Well that's one way to get free childcare.

Fuck that.

messybun101 · 16/08/2021 12:35

Be absolutely delighted that friend has dropped contact with your DD. It's a lucky escape for your daughter!
I actually have never come across this strange behaviour before. I'm gobsmacked 😂

ApolloandDaphne · 16/08/2021 12:36

That is completely bonkers. I would wonder about the state of her mental health to be honest. Surely no-one can be that self absorbed?

speakingofart · 16/08/2021 12:36

My god children are clearly deprived and have to make do with Christmas and birthday presents plus the occasional ice cream.

SparkyBlue · 16/08/2021 12:37

She sounds deranged. Your DD is best off keeping a wide berth from her. I somehow think she will have difficulty finding suitable godparents

RuthTopp · 16/08/2021 12:37

That's godly of her . She's obviously mad , bad, or sad.

JulesCobb · 16/08/2021 12:39

Is this what the world is coming to
Of course it is not. This isnt the norm.

Needing to be baptised is normal for a godparent. The rest is cheeky fuckery of the highest order.

Abouttimemum · 16/08/2021 12:39

My goodness! She’s batshit

autumnboys · 16/08/2021 12:40

LOL. The only reasonable request there was the proof of baptism, which some churches do ask to see, as godparents must be baptised themselves in some denominations. The rest is batshit crazy.

Stompythedinosaur · 16/08/2021 12:41

Absolutely deluded!

IncessantNameChanger · 16/08/2021 12:41

I cant believe this. Some of my kids godparents wouldnt see them once a year.

In fact if I could go back in time I would go back and re choose some of them

isthisareverse · 16/08/2021 12:42

Poor kids

imagine having to live with a mother like that.

DiscoLightsOnAFridayNight · 16/08/2021 12:43

This Friend has stipulated that all the GPs have to agree to see the child on Mondays Wednesdays and Saturdays

Sounds like someone has an alternating shift pattern & has come up with a creative way to get free childcare Grin
