I get anywhere between 7-8 hrs usually sometimes even 9 rarely but still tired sometimes.

About 7 hours in one chunk (if I go to bed at 11). DD wakes up at 6ish but DH takes her at 7 for a couple of hours every morning so I go back to bed Grin

Starjammer · 11/08/2021 06:53

(I'm v lucky that DH doesn't 'do' lie ins so I get them all.)

BendingSpoons · 11/08/2021 06:57

Currently I get about 8-8.5 most nights. I prioritise sleep and my kids currently sleep well. We have occasional bad nights and occasionally I go to bed mega early.

I still feel very tired by the end of the day but I don't have that 'walking through treacle' feeling like when DS was a poor sleeper. On my days at home with the kids, I often feel a bit groggy in the afternoon and this concerns me a bit.

Southwestrunningmum · 11/08/2021 06:59

About 6 hours.

Bloballbovish · 11/08/2021 07:02

I get approx 6 hours, but sometime less. Pre-children I'd aim for 9 but usually got 7-8 on a work day.

Dd2, a baby, wakes between 5 and 6 most days. I'm doing bedtime with dd1 until 8.30-9pm, have to stay with her until she falls asleep, a recent regression. I should go to sleep much earlier but after 9pm is my only me time, especially in the school holidays. So I have supper and watch TV or read for a bit.

Sleep is broken frequently by Dd2 still breastfeeding so it's not even a solid 6 hours. But I sleep feed now - flop a boob out at her and doze off again. Otherwise I'd be dead from lack of sleep by now!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 11/08/2021 07:02

DS is 5.5 and doesn't sleep through although isn't particularly disruptive when he wakes. According to my fitbit I get an average of 7-8 hours a night. Pre DS I needed 9-10 hours but I have adjusted and manage fine on the lower amount now.

snoozeytime · 11/08/2021 07:05

About 6, very broken hours. Sometimes slightly more. DH gives me a lie in v occasionally but that's after I've kept her asleep 6-8ish so it doesn't help a huge amount. He gets to sleep in to 8 every day and often longer. That's during holidays and weekends- we are up at 6.30 when working.

DisgruntledPelican · 11/08/2021 07:05

Around 5-6 hours, but that’s mostly because I don’t go to bed as early as I should most of the time. DS is 18 months and recently started waking around 5am. Before that it was 6-6.30am.

I’m fine on it though, 9-10 hours’ sleep makes me feel groggy and unwell. I don’t get less sleep now than I did before I was a parent, really.

bongbigboobingbongbing · 11/08/2021 07:08

Usually about 7 hours. On days when I've had 8 hours I feel like a superhero. That pretty much never happens though!!

nanbread · 11/08/2021 07:13

5/6 hours. I should go to bed earlier but it's the only me time I get. My children have additional needs, take ages to go to sleep and wake early.

Incywinceyspider · 11/08/2021 07:15

These days, about 8 hours. DS has the occasional broken night but usually sleeps until about 6. He's 22 months.

MayorGundersonsDogRufus · 11/08/2021 07:16

Maybe six hours. Often broken. DD is 8 now but she was a terrible sleeper when she was younger and my sleep patterns have never recovered!

Lostmyway86 · 11/08/2021 07:17

About 7. I have two babies under 2 but they sleep well 7-6ish. I go up to bed to read about 9 but rarely fall asleep before 11 and then up at 6. Feel fine on 7 hours.

Tablow · 11/08/2021 07:19

I get about 5 but broken as my dc2 wakes every hour or so. He's just like his sister who finally slept through at 4 so only 2 years to go!

megletthesecond · 11/08/2021 07:21

About 6. It's got worse as they've got older (teens). Arguments and disruption until gone 11pm.

Bellend101 · 11/08/2021 07:23

Same here!
Sirzy · 11/08/2021 07:24

6 is a good night.

Ds is pump fed overnight so that’s at least one get up a night but on a bad night it can be multiple get ups. That’s before any other issues with DS and on top of that my anxiety makes it hard to get to sleep.

MonsterJammin · 11/08/2021 07:25

According to my Fitbit i average 7-8 hours a night of actual sleep after it adjusts for any "awake" time. Dc are 6 and 3 and we've been lucky with good sleepers. 3 yo is generally the last one in the house awake in the morning, he can easily be after 9am and needs to be woken for nursery.

mafted · 11/08/2021 07:26

Maybe I need more as I read the thread title as how much sleep do your parents get? Grin

NoHeavenNoMore · 11/08/2021 07:27

DD1 due in two weeks. I get between 5 and 6 and I'm not even a parent yet 😫 early start time at work does that to your body clock. If I'm lucky, I'll get 7 hours at a weekend and feel on top of the world!

Downthewarren · 11/08/2021 07:28

4/5 hours between work, uni and a 16 month old 😂

I survive on copious amounts of caffeine 😂

AnonymousCheerleader · 11/08/2021 07:34

4/5 hours if I'm lucky. Currently pregnant and really struggling to sleep but I'm not a good sleeper anyway.

Neverrains · 11/08/2021 07:35

5-6.

Cosybelles · 11/08/2021 07:36

DD in bed for 11h so as much as I want during that window!

Camomila · 11/08/2021 07:36

Usually 7 or 8 with one or two interruptions so I guess 6 or 7 (DS2 usually has one night feed and DS1 usually runs into our bed at some point at night).
