Just when you think ending a statement or sentence with "discuss", along comes "I'll wait."

It's so fucking obnoxious.

OP posts:
UnsuitableHat · 08/08/2021 18:03

Rant over.

BritWifeInUSA · 08/08/2021 18:04

Just that.

HurryUpAndWait23 · 08/08/2021 18:04

That one doesn't bother me so much. I pair that up with a friend having a really shit time and messaging me needing to get things off their chest.

Although it wouldn't be so forgiving to the random
internet willies ranting about some political BS and ending it with that.

ImRhondaAndthesearentreal · 08/08/2021 18:05

Simples.

Or 🤷🏼‍♀️

HurryUpAndWait23 · 08/08/2021 18:05

Oh another obnoxious one, ending a unpopular opinion with "change my mind".

OP posts:
cariadlet · 08/08/2021 18:06

No?

sofiegiraffe · 08/08/2021 18:06

....no?

As in: "I am right and you are totally wrong, no?"

That's the most annoying one for me 😂

HurryUpAndWait23 · 08/08/2021 18:06

Yes!! Good call that's a twatty ending as well, no?

OP posts:
sendinallthesheep · 08/08/2021 18:07

"no?" as in "I'm a pretentious know it all, no?"

Mamette · 08/08/2021 18:08

Amirite?

LimeSodaTwist · 08/08/2021 18:09

HTH

sofiegiraffe · 08/08/2021 18:09

Thought not.

As in: "Can you say something more clever than me? Thought not."

Tiredforfive45 · 08/08/2021 18:12

Go!

Like the start of a shite race that nobody asked to participate in.

Best places to eat in Newcastle? Go!

LifesNotEnidBlyton · 08/08/2021 18:14

Not exactly the same but on Mumsnet when it is like this....

OP Theres a blister on my fanjo. What could have caused this?

And someone comments

"I dont understand you at all... What is a "fanjo"? I don't know what that is. Oh, unless it's on your labia, is that what you were talking about?".

So the annoying bit is the sarcastic "is that what you were talking about?". Not annoying when you finish a sentence with that seriously, but really annoying when someone uses it to make a poster sound idiotic and like they (the commenter) are a higher class of person.

This is the worst
VladmirsPoutine · 08/08/2021 18:16

I quite like "I'll wait." Anyone using it earnestly has completely missed the point.

LysistrataVickers · 08/08/2021 18:19

End of.

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 08/08/2021 18:22

Simples. How did the catchphrase of a meerkat become ubiquitous in adult conversation?

Garfunkle · 08/08/2021 18:22

HTH

I have seen that many times here. It annoys me even though I have no idea what it means. What does it mean?

Kanaloa · 08/08/2021 18:24

I also came on to say no? It’s very patronising and irritating, no? It makes you sound like you think the idea of someone disagreeing is laughable.

Kanaloa · 08/08/2021 18:25

@Garfunkle

It means hope that helps, except the implication is that you don’t really care if it helps. So say an op says I don’t understand why some people like bowling. You might answer

Because we like it. HTH.

Llamasally · 08/08/2021 18:28

“Rant over” is just the worst. Anyone I am ‘friends’ with who includes this on a social media post is immediately hidden for everyone’s sake.

ImHauntingThisPlace · 08/08/2021 18:31

Just saying.

Angry
skodadoda · 08/08/2021 18:33

Fact!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/08/2021 18:33

Only works verbally but I have this bad habit of letting my sentences peter out instead of coming to a definitive
