Just when you think ending a statement or sentence with "discuss", along comes "I'll wait."

It's so fucking obnoxious.

OP posts:
WingBingo · 08/08/2021 19:01

I thought it was “happy to help”. Sounds more sarcastic to me.

Also @ImHauntingThisPlace agree with you, “Just saying” is awful.

It actually means I’m saying what I like and I know you won’t like it.

BoarOnTheFloor · 08/08/2021 19:01

I also hate “I can’t even”. It’s not a full sentence!

Justletmelogon · 08/08/2021 19:02

Drops mic

Janaih · 08/08/2021 19:03

Thoughts?

Makes my teeth itch. So condescendingly superior.

RavenclawsRoar · 08/08/2021 19:11

Don't see it on here so much (more of a Facebook thing ime) but following a long, bizarre rambling about some stupid conspiracy theory: "wake up!" Bonus point for "sheeple" tacked onto the end.

Geamhradh · 08/08/2021 19:14

@Kanaloa

I actually find it weirder when people say ‘awaits flaming’ after saying something nobody would flame them for. Also ‘going against the grain’ before repeating what a hundred posters have just said.

So when someone says ‘I eat ham sandwiches for lunch. Getting my hard hat on!’ I find it so odd.

Yes! That's very odd, because they think they're being all controversial and cutting edge and everyone goes "yeah, I do that as well, doesn't everyone?"
GiveMeAUserName123 · 08/08/2021 19:15

Don’t say boom! I love boom 😂

Hepzibar · 08/08/2021 19:15

"Does that make sense"

TonyChestnut · 08/08/2021 19:17

Do you know what I mean?

Of course I do!

RobynNora · 08/08/2021 19:19

As seen on LinkedIn …

‘All children should be helped to fulfil their potential. Agree?’

Always irritated by the way LinkedIn ‘influencers’ end their daft statements with ‘agree?’ Especially when the statement is obvious as hell!

Also hate ‘Go’. So bossy!

PopcornMuncher · 08/08/2021 19:23

I hate "go figure" Angry

Agree about "no?"

I also cannot bear "I'm afraid" the smugness of it just irritates me

MessyLifeCleanHouse · 08/08/2021 19:27

Me thinks 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Lindy2 · 08/08/2021 19:31

I find statements that end "thank me later" just really irritating.

Usually they are preceded by some bland fact that no one was interested in to begin with or some statement that is so blindingly obvious no one needed it pointed out to them in the first place.

Asking to be thanked just seems so smug and rather needy. I say thank you to people who are actually helpful not because someone has randomly stated they are to be thanked for their unsolicited "help".

Bingbongbash · 08/08/2021 19:32

Ynbu - also 'just saying'
Or 'dear'.

Popetthetreehugger · 08/08/2021 19:34

Sorry don’t know how to highlight! But , educate yourself… once said to me on Facebook by an American (who was a full on trump supporter ) I’d asked why ? Not in a rude way , this was way back before he was president, (when we were still laughing,) she told me her reasons then went on to say that London was totally unsafe , was a no go city due to Muslim law , the police couldn’t even enter . When I said that wasn’t what I’d witnessed… she said educate your self ! You are delusional 🤣 also from now on it’s got to be hi there Helen 🙌😎

ProfYaffle · 08/08/2021 19:44

It's not the end of a sentence but 'think'

As in "I was on holiday: think Hotel by the beach" Why not just say "I was on holiday in a Hotel by the beach"? Confused

BlusteryLake · 08/08/2021 19:45

Two that wind me up are "much?" as in "You are stupid, much?" But the absolute worst is adding "Let that percolate for a moment", as if we little readers couldn't possibly keep up with the intellectual processing of the author, so need a bit of extra time to catch up.

Kanaloa · 08/08/2021 19:48

I also hate the percolate! Or ‘I’ll give you a minute to catch up.’

It’s not a video/audio recording. I can stop reading to take it in whenever I like!

Kanaloa · 08/08/2021 19:48

Thought of another, which is a post ending with me being addressed as ‘reader.’ As in ‘reader, I did such and such boring thing.’

Greyrootszerohoots · 08/08/2021 19:51

Oh it’s so obnoxious and seems to be the phrase of ‘older generation’ Facebook memes.

‘Who here walked to school uphill both ways? I’ll wait’

MoChridhe · 08/08/2021 19:56

Do you get me?

I can't even.

Lol

SwedishEdith · 08/08/2021 19:58

"End of" is the worst. I remember Saskia on Big Brother years ago kept saying it, usually when incapable of arguing her point.

I really hate "You do know some smartarse fact is x don't you?". Usually said that way to try to humiliate someone who clearly didn't know.

NigelWithTheBrie79 · 08/08/2021 20:02

I keep seeing 2 things that annoy me.

  1. "She said what she said!" Usually by a sycophantic follower on SM
  2. "LET THAT SINK IN!" Usually after some insipid influencer speaks out copies and pastes a very long rant.
Plantpot75 · 08/08/2021 20:04

@ProfYaffle
I just came on to say exactly the same! It annoys me so much. It’s pointless - I had a sandwich (think cheese and pickle) Just say you had a cheese and pickle sandwich FFS.

I will forever more read HTH as Hi there Helen 😂

Arsebucket · 08/08/2021 20:04

“Thoughts?”

My husband does this when he thinks he’s being superior abs clever and it makes
my vagina shrivel up and die.
