They are trainers. If you like them, buy them.

MrsTWH · 07/08/2021 17:31

Why wouldn’t you buy them if you want them?

girlmom21 · 07/08/2021 17:32

I'd say YABU to buy them at any age because they're gross but if you like them then go for it 🤷‍♀️

Rubyupbeat · 07/08/2021 17:32

They're just trainers, good for any age.

Butchyrestingface · 07/08/2021 17:32

What's being 39 got to do with it? Are you worried it'll scream 'mutton dressed up as lamb' if you wear them?

Bluntness100 · 07/08/2021 17:33

I don’t understand they are just a pair of trainers?

Is this a joke thread or something?

Wobblelmyheadplease · 07/08/2021 17:33

Yep. I'd be buying them for my 19 year old self and feel like I'm a bit past them now.

Buy then if you like them. They're just trainers?

Bagelsandbrie · 07/08/2021 17:33

I had a pair of these when I was about 18 I think Grin

If you like them go for it!

eightyfourandahalf · 07/08/2021 17:34

You could be 68 and still pull them off, depends what you are wearing.
style has nothing to do with age.

whatswithtodaytoday · 07/08/2021 17:34

I bought myself purple glitter DMs for my inner 16 year old. They make me very happy 😁

HummingBeeBox · 07/08/2021 17:34

I was expecting to see something off the wall. They're quite conservative, buy them

AlmostSummer21 · 07/08/2021 17:35

I don't understand?

They look like a pretty standard pair of trainers. I'm 52 & would think nothing of buying them 💁🏻‍♀️

'90's were a bit more lively where I lived

QueenCarrot · 07/08/2021 17:35

My dad wears these. He is 94

RedElephants · 07/08/2021 17:36

I'm very almost 55 Grin I love my Airforce 1s, I have the black and the white ones.. their comfortable, and give me an inch in extra height, I love them..
But then I don't actually give a toss what people think, so.....
Buy them,if you like them!,

cariadlet · 07/08/2021 17:37

It seems a lot to pay for trainers to me (but I know I'm completely out of touch with the cost of big brand trainers). But they're just trainers. They're ok for anyone of any age.

I opened the thread expecting to see something way more daring and age inappropriate than just a pair of trainers.

Wobblelmyheadplease · 07/08/2021 17:37

Thanks, I looked at the airforce and I could get them a lot cheaper than these as can buy in kid's sizes for about £50.

£100 seems a lot for these, that's part of the debate.

I don’t really understand why you wouldn’t wear them because of your age? All ages can wear these. I would definitely go for it though because I have them in a different colour (and I’m older than you) and they are the most comfortable trainers I have ever owned (and I have owned a lot).

LeSquigh · 07/08/2021 17:39

But as a side note, buying kids shoes is a false economy unless you are tiny. They are not built for adult weight and they are never as comfortable as the women’s option and they don’t last as long. In my experience at least.

alwaysstressed · 07/08/2021 17:40

I literally just bought these exact trainers for my 11 year old ds today, except in black

stopgap · 07/08/2021 17:41

I thought they were going to be six-inch wedge heels or something; those trainers scream pedestrian and over 40 to me.

LuxOlente · 07/08/2021 17:42

There are so many fabulous trainers out there, in various shapes and styles and colourways, 90s inspired and 00s inspired and all sorts... so yes, you can buy trainers at 39. But why a plain grey dull pair? Get something with some life!

SuperSecretSquirrels · 07/08/2021 17:42

They’re just trainers. I feel like I’m missing the point. But several other people have said the same and no one has explained.

Is there some kind of child-like connotation to these particular ones? That just look like regular trainers.

Kerzel · 07/08/2021 17:42

What a weird question! You can wear whatever you like at whatever age you are. If you like something, wear it.

noblegreenk · 07/08/2021 17:42

I'm 36 and I love them! Go for it.
