Breaking the rules ?

Who has flouted the rules over Covid app ping and carried on regardless, still mask wearing and keeping a social distance ?
Would you ?

In other words, would I be unreasonable to consider carrying on safely if I thought I could ?

If you get ping via the app it's is advisory to isolate......just delete the app

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 20/07/2021 21:01

I deleted the app. Its not mandatory to have it.

LST · 20/07/2021 21:01

I deleted the app

Biker47 · 21/07/2021 09:06

I've deleted the app, if I got a notification on it at this point I would have ignored it anyways.

RobinPenguins · 21/07/2021 09:08

I deleted the app so don’t have to face this dilemma. If I was contacted by T&T I suppose I’d have to comply but for something that’s not mandatory, fuck that.

alloalloallo · 21/07/2021 09:17

I don’t have the app, never have. I originally downloaded it but it kept crashing my phone and kept closing every time I tried to open it so I deleted it - my phone is new enough, and I update it regularly so 🤷‍♀️

Aqua55 · 21/07/2021 09:19

I won't be isolating, even if I had symptoms

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/07/2021 09:20

Never had the app, still wear the mask and social distancing as much as I can.

Pottedpalm · 21/07/2021 09:21

I have never had the app; my old phone wouldn’t support it and I didn’t bother with it on mew one.

Shelddd · 21/07/2021 09:35

Really? Why?
MadeOfStarStuff · 21/07/2021 09:39

You’ll get a very vocal few selfish idiots posting but most people actually do give a shit about other people I hope and would isolate if required

Youdiditanyway · 21/07/2021 09:45

Deleted the app so guess I’m flouting the rules in a sense too. I’ll be allowed to have my second vaccine in a fortnight so think that excludes me from needing to SI next month anyway. I don’t go out clubbing or drinking, I’m rarely close to others for more than 2 minutes so think I’ll be ok. Definitely always wear a mask indoors and on the school run.

If test and trace called me then yes I would. But I am not having the app
skippy67 · 21/07/2021 09:50

I've deleted the app. I'd isolate if I was contacted by test and trace though.

pointythings · 21/07/2021 09:52

I've never had the app. If I got contacted by Test and Trace I would absolutely isolate - I work for the NHS, some example I'd be setting.

I am also continuing to sanitise, distance and wear a face covering in shops and other indoor public venues. It's not that much of a hardship. And I'm vaccinated.

WeHaveComeSoFar · 21/07/2021 09:58

I would isolate if test and trace personally contacted me. But I won't isolate if the app tells me to. I only have it to check into places as I cba filling out forms.

LynetteScavo · 21/07/2021 10:07

A colleague admitted to me she'd been coming to work when she shouldn't have. She's double vaccinated and took a lateral flow test every day.

Personally I would have stayed at home - I would have still be paid.

234Pepperplant · 21/07/2021 10:08

I got rid of the app. I reinstall occasionally if a venue absolutely insists on it to check in, but then I delete it again. I’m happy to obey test and trace if they actually contact me and I’m still wearing a mask and distancing in all the same places I was before and I’m double vaxxed etc etc, but I am not having the app.

BelleClapper · 21/07/2021 10:11

We were told at work to ignore pings and do daily LFTs. So we’ve all deleted the app.

LindaEllen · 21/07/2021 10:29

I'd like to be pinged to be honest for 10 days of peace from all of the obligations that are now legal again. After a lovely relaxing year, I can't cope with it anymore!

WallaceinAnderland · 21/07/2021 10:29

I've never had the app.

SexTrainGlue · 21/07/2021 10:32

The number of pings reflects the very high transmission we have now.

What else would people expect when you end restrictions when transmission is high and rising (and if online posters are to be believed, many had abandoned infection control measures before they were abolished)

It's not a faulty app. It's the entirely predictable (and predicted) outcome of choosing this particular way of opening up (other options available)

Bloody great. Really wonderful.

I had hoped the one single lesson people would learn would be to try to stay away from others if they're ill, but noooooo. Of course not. God forbid.

memberofthewedding · 21/07/2021 13:10

I dont go out and even my medical appointments are (mostly) home visits. Im double vaccinated and I dont have the app nor do I intend to get it. My chances of going to pubs, restaurants and night clubs in the forseable future are negligible.
