Who has flouted the rules over Covid app ping and carried on regardless, still mask wearing and keeping a social distance ?
Would you ?

@Itsallthedramamick they are not required to collect data now but if they insist would just say I don’t have the app but happy to leave a name and number.

RampantIvy · 22/07/2021 12:30

@Aqua55

I won't be isolating, even if I had symptoms
I have no words Hmm I assume you enjoy being in lockdown
Letsallscreamatthesistene · 22/07/2021 13:07

@Itsallthedramamick

Slight tangent but for those that have deleted the app, how do you respond when you are asked to 'check in' by someone. For eg, I was at a softplay today and they said I had to check in via the app. I assume they wouldn't let me in if I refused??
I pretend

What a kind, pleasant and selfless human being you are.
That disabled person you help, or pass something to in a shop, you’ll be passing on your Covid to a vulnerable person. Doing so knowingly pretty low, isn’t it. 😠

EBearhug · 22/07/2021 13:31

I've left my name and number instead of using the app. I don't have a working phone currently, and there have been loads of people who can't use the app for various technical reasons, or just because they don't want to, so there have to be other ways round it.

CremeEggThief · 22/07/2021 13:41

It'sAlltheDramaMick, (I love your user name!), hopefully a moot point going forward, but it's up to the venue to provide you with a pen and paper to write down your contact details as an alternative. Not everyone owns or brings their phone out, so it's up to venues to have a backup plan in place.

Peaplant20 · 22/07/2021 13:46

I would do it because I would like the pandemic to end.

I have the app so can still check in but I turned off the contact tracing. So it's a complete farce but it keeps the people on the door happy.
Ugzbugz · 22/07/2021 14:11

I have the app but the test and trace is switched off so totally pointless but can't be bothered to delete and install for checks ins which again is pointless as the track is off.

I just say I haven't got it. Do you want my name and number. Never got refused entry anywhere yet.

I give my name and number...I have a very old windows phone so unable to use most apps (i can't get WhatsApp anymoreGrin blessing in disguise as missed out all WhatsApp messages re clubbing together for teacher thank you gift)....but until it becomes completely obsolete or the battery dies I'll stick with it!
Manhattanferry · 23/07/2021 17:46

I test regularly for work, I'm off now for the summer and will continue to test regularly. I didn't realise that ping wasn't a mandatory isolation, I prob wouldn't have stressed so much.
I too can't believe that there are some who would continue to go out and about while experiencing symptoms !

chunderwunder · 23/07/2021 17:56

I can't be sure of course but I'm betting you object to lockdowns.

What everyone else can see is that lockdown sceptics' actions prolong the very thing they object to.

I don't think intelligence is high in this group of people. I very much enjoyed the anti-lockdown protest they insisted on holding recently despite the fact we'd come out of lockdown.

Bless 'em.

Waving a phone at the QR code works fine. If you want to responsible you just give your details on paper. Venues have been told they shouldn't insist on the app.
Menora · 23/07/2021 18:03

I give my details manually
I also deleted it but I would isolate if T&T contacted me. My colleague got into an absolute farce with the app and we all deleted it after that

KimmyAndMe · 23/07/2021 18:05

Just delete the app OP. Nobody cares that people lose their lives because of those that CBA to consider others eh? 🤬

aivilo · 23/07/2021 19:21

I don't have the app and never have.

HOkieCOkie · 23/07/2021 19:22

My ap is switched off so I don’t check in and I have stopped wearing my masks.

FatAnneTheDealer · 23/07/2021 19:30

@Luna2021 and @Fkar1 unless there are specific reasons why the vaccine is not appropriate for you, you should get vaccinated ASAP as per the advice of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Pregnancy alone is not a reason to avoid the vaccine and your doctors/ midwives may not be up to date with the latest advice.

You are not any more likely than anyone else to catch the virus, and in early pregnancy you are also not more at risk than others of serious consequences (so waiting until 12 weeks will not make you any more vulnerable than anyone else). In later pregnancy it is risky to be unvaccinated and you would need a very good reason not to protect yourself and your baby.

Glitterblue · 23/07/2021 19:41

@aqua55 absolutely fucking brilliant. How selfish. It's because of fuckers like you that we are in the position we are. My family lost someone to Covid last year. He was young, fit and healthy.

Spyro1234 · 23/07/2021 20:01

I deleted the app. We need to just get on with life now.

As if Covid doesn’t exist you mean?

Attheheart · 23/07/2021 21:32

I would isolate if I was pinged, but I won't because I have contact tracing turned off. I'm operating on a what you don't know can't hurt policy. If I was a real close contact, contact tracing would contact me direct.

Voice0fReason · 23/07/2021 21:55

I don't understand the need to delete the app.
You can ignore it if you've been pinged but it might prompt you to test more often. You might pay a bit more attention if you notice a cough or feel a bit rough.
You can check into places and if you do then test positive, other people who do need to know if they've come into contact with the virus, get notified.
This information matters to other people, even if it doesn't matter to you.

jgjgjgjgjg · 23/07/2021 22:42

Just turn off the blue tooth tracing bit of the app. Then you won't get pinged. Problem solved.
