And we are supposed to be going as a whole family, with the grandparents, to France on Sunday.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I will be let into France.

OP posts:

The efficacy of the batches is not in question they work,it has no clinical impact

LibrariesGiveUsPower45321 · 03/07/2021 18:43

YANBU. Mines on that list too.

moynomore · 03/07/2021 18:53

I dont think you’re meant to be going to France on holiday anyway, essential travel only

Yawn

moynomore · 03/07/2021 18:57

@Rockitrosie

I have lost my little card! Does that mean I can never go abroad again?! shock

Is that what is accepted as proof? Surely they would be easy enough to fake... - obviously I'm not advocating this!

This is what I came on to say Grin - of course they won’t be expecting people to show those little bits of card at the airport - as you say they are far too easy to lose and/or fake.

It all sounds like a gigantic pile of bullshit to me!

You have to show your Covid Travel pass on the NHS app. Not the NHS Covid 19 app.
RamItBunty · 03/07/2021 18:59

Your vaccination status is recorded on the NHS app
You don’t need to keep the card

Hobnob86 · 03/07/2021 19:04

Could be worse, both of my doses were the unregistered Indian ones! We are due to travel to Greece in September for a family holiday and I felt OK about it as currently you don't have to isolate on arrival in Greece if you are double jabbed, but I am basically not jabbed at all according to the EU now! I'm super annoyed and all I can hope is that EU will see sense and allow the Indian manufacturered jab to be recognised.

Covidconfuse · 03/07/2021 19:07

Had no idea about this but have just checked and I also had 412OZ001 :-(

gamerchick · 03/07/2021 19:22

I don't understand the batches. Mine are PW40037 and similar for my second but PV and 5 numbers. Why are mine different to other peoples.

Whatamess582 · 03/07/2021 19:24

I wouldn’t take my word as gospel OP but France are really bad at checking anything at the border. We have these forma that hosts of UK visitors need to fill out and pay for (30€ A pop) and send them to your guests a month in advance to arrival (thanks brexit!!) and despite all the hassle and and fear mongering I’ve yet to hear of someone actually being asked for it. Some people I know haven’t even done it and were fine.
During lockdowns I know literally hundreds of people who went between uk and France (both ways) and did not have PCR tests checked and no one was checking temps or final destinations or quarantine addresses.

Obviously it’s not ideal but your chances of being let in as if nothing is wrong in the world is pretty high.

Oh fgs.. People can go to France if they want to as long as:
 • from French point of view: tested + fully vaccinated or essential reason. Essential reason includes being French or EU national or family of the same.
 • from UK point of view: tested + quarantine on the way back.

It doesn't sound like it will be an issue. Have a great time!

mumda · 03/07/2021 19:31

My first is one of these.
However my GP info just says Astra zeneca. Which is wrong as its covidshield according to the telegraph.

Bebethany · 03/07/2021 19:32

Take a screen shot of both sides of your card as soon as you get it.

saraclara · 03/07/2021 19:39

Lots of European countries have already said they'll unilaterally accept the Indian vaccine.

You'll be fine OP. And again, it seems like the vaccination passport scheme that this relates to isn't even in force yet.

shinny · 03/07/2021 20:19

You will be able to enter France. There is a list of compelling reasons to go, issued by the Ministry, and one of those reasons is being a Brit. Vaccinated or not, you can enter.

Really? I wasn't aware of this latest development. I just had a look at the list and it includes French nationals, EU nationals or certain British workers. I cannot see where it includes every British person.

Wrong.

It doesn’t say that at all. Where are you looking in that document?

You need to read the bullet point in full... being British isn't enough. Only specific British workers are included...
oblada · 03/07/2021 22:17

It does however include being French / family of a french national, thus allowing me to travel in a couple of weeks. But an unvaccinated Brit (not married/related to a French or EU national) is unfortunately not allowed in.

LuluJakey1 · 03/07/2021 22:31

@Thiscantreallybehappening

The NHS app doesn't show batch numbers, do how will they enforce it?
Yes it does- shows both batch numbers and dates injected and name of vaccine.
Belladonna12 · 03/07/2021 23:30
**@Belladonna12* - Countries don't have to decide that only countries authorised by the EMA are to be trusted though. Considering that they were quite happy to accept decisions by the MHRA before Brexit I think it is entirely political and nothing to do with safety to not accept them now.*

The conspiracy theories on here are insane.

Prior to brexit, the MHRA had to comply with, or exceed, the minimum standards set down by the EU so of course they could be trusted to be compliant. That is no longer the case and decisions made by the MHRA are quite rightly being treated as decisions made by a 3rd country.
No, the MHRA didn't have to comply with EU rules when we were in the EU.

emetophobe123 · 03/07/2021 23:51

@ShameCloud

Batches 4120Z001, 4120Z002 or 4120Z003 are the batch numbers of those manufacturered in India and not recognised by some parts or Europe as a Covid vaccine.

Mine is one of these… I’m buggered anyway as I’m not getting a second due to the blood clot risk but this is the fly on the turd!

I had one of those batches too but if you're worried about the blood clot risk and under 40 you might be able to ask your GP to have the Pfizer as your second jab (I did this).
OchonAgusOchonOh · 04/07/2021 01:01

@Belladonna12 - No, the MHRA didn't have to comply with EU rules when we were in the EU.

I'm not saying they had to be compliant with the EMA but there are standards that apply throughout the EU that member countries need to comply with. If a drug is authorised in one member state, the company can apply to have this authorisation recognised in other EU countries. Member states can rely on one anothers assessment of drugs because they are recognised to meet minimum standards of assessment.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 04/07/2021 01:27

It’s not really a big deal, it’ll get sorted eventually.

It wasn’t registered in the EU, because it wasn’t being sent to the EU, nothing to do with cutting corners or whatever people are banging on about.

If individual countries want to accept it, they can, or if they don’t, they won’t.
I’m sure they all will eventually though, there’s no reason not to, I suppose the countries who are more reliant on tourism have the incentive to do it a bit quicker
