Does anyone else find it odd that the press haven’t found him yet, given that they must be looking everywhere and most people would recognise him if they saw him now? Do you think someone is harbouring him somewhere? Why are they hounding his wife and not looking for him? I mean can’t hide forever can he, at some stage he’s got to come out of the woodwork and face the music instead of hiding like a coward.

Have you really god nothing better to worry about OP? Do you think he should be tarred and feathered, or may rolled around London on a tumbrel? He’s lost his job and been totally humiliated, leave the poor sod alone.

To be honest, I would be more concerned with the treatment of Chris Witty by the public and the police. Now he is metaphorically rolled around in the streets of London and the press just seem to love it.

No of course I don’t think he should be tarred and feathered, but I am pretty disgusted that he left his wife to deal that media storm. He could have faced the music and said ‘I’m sorry, I was an idiot’. But instead he has scuttled off to let her deal with it all. It’s pretty shitty behaviour.

He should be at work. Although reports suggest this has gone down very badly with his constituents, and even worse with local party members.

I can't believe its so quiet in the press about him. It's best for the children but how did they to orchestrate that?

He justifiably lost his job and should have been sacked much sooner for incompetence. He used taxpayers money to give his bit on the side a job, as well as giving her brother a multi million pound government contract. He failed to declare his interest in another company he awarded a multi million pound government contract to ie his sister's company.

He used his personal Gmail account to conduct government business so there can be no oversight or scrutiny of how and why these contracts were awarded.

So yes he should be hounded by the press and tarred and feathered and even that would be too good for the lying, hypocritical, weasel.

Why would the press be looking for him everywhere, what are they going to do if they see him, he has resigned, he has left home, does it really matter. The safety of Chris Witty is more concerning.

Constituency home is apparently locked up. Unless he’s hiding with the blinds closed and is sending out for takeaway/deliveries etc. But he’d still have to answer the door.. Or maybe he hasn’t left his wife at all and is in fact hiding in his creepy red office?

He only resigned from government I think, not as an MP, so is still accountable.

He is certainly not hiding behind his morals and moral compass, it is not big enough to encompass even his scrawny frame.

I suspect the press have rightly kept quiet now because they were already sailing close to the wind by publishing the pictures of him where his (minor) children were able to see them.

Regardless of one’s feelings about Matt Hancock, the press should be brought to account legally over their handling of the situation, as should the person who sold them the story.

There are ways to report someone without having to have it splashed all over the tabloids.

As for tarring and feathering, how convenient it was that that story broke on the day when it emerged that hundreds of thousands of COVID tests had gone missing in the farce that is track and trace.

Every politician on earth has cheated on their partner, it was ever thus. It might not be particularly edifying to know that but Hancock has been used as a scapegoat.

However, the rest ought to be careful what they wish for. Without him in the picture the question has to be who will be next. They’re getting awfully close to Boris now, and with Hancock gone he isn’t going to have a scapegoat to blame.
