Well you haven’t give much to go on!

Comedycook · 25/06/2021 22:07

Best era for sure.

Modern enough to be comfortable but without the screen overload and online nonsense we have now

MartyHart · 25/06/2021 22:08

The 80's had better music.

Grumpyoldblonde · 25/06/2021 22:10

Not unreasonable. I miss it terribly. A fantastic era. Especially the latter half. All that optimism and stuff happening. Film, music, fashion. It felt so fresh

LoopTheLoops · 25/06/2021 22:11

I miss it a lot! Keep saying how things were better then

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 25/06/2021 22:12

Are you watching Glastonbury??
I agree it was a fab time - hot carefree summer of 95, Euro 96, the hope that the change in government brought in 97, awesome music....
but don't all generations think that about the decade of their late teenage/early 20's years??

BlessedBeTheFruitandNut · 25/06/2021 22:13

Things appeared to be much simpler in the 80s and 90s that’s for sure.

RonObvious · 25/06/2021 22:13

Were you watching the Glastonbury documentary too? I’m so nostalgic right now!

FlaminEckVera · 25/06/2021 22:15

YANBU. As you are entitled to feel nostalgic for anything.

For me though, it's the 1980s! Smile

Slub · 25/06/2021 22:15

Yes.
The 80's were ace!

90's was the decade that music forgot.

Goingovertosusanshouse · 25/06/2021 22:16

Same here! Watching Glastonbury now and it’s making my heart ache! Lockdown made me so nostalgic and I can’t shake it, it makes me emotional frequently and at really unexpected times! I want to hear Radiohead for the first time again, lust after Damon and experience a live gig for the first time. I want to go to our price and spend my pocket money on tapes and learn every song along with bsides. I just want to go back!

bodenbeaut · 25/06/2021 22:17

Yes!! Watching 90s Glastonbury!!

LadyCatStark · 25/06/2021 22:18

YANBU I feel the same, it was a much better time!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 25/06/2021 22:18

I loved the 90s though.

90s music was great. And the general sense of hope and that it was all going to be ok!

80s music is awful, not sure what some of you were listening to!

OverByYer · 25/06/2021 22:19

I’m watching Glastonbury too and feeling very nostalgic
I was at uni 1990-93 then had my first job before having DS1 in 2000.
So the 90s for me were good fun times.

SylviasMotherSaid · 25/06/2021 22:19

Oh Glastonbury made me miss the 90s so much especially the 1998 clips I would happily live 1998 and 1999 all over again a few times

Adreinnesarmy · 25/06/2021 22:19

Oh god...totally this! Sheryl Crow got me. How refreshing to see an icon with no eye lash extensions or make up just dressed in jeans. If only we could get back to this...definitely the best era. Only wish I’d kicked the arse out of it even more than I did.

OverByYer · 25/06/2021 22:19

Yes and 90s music was far better than the 80s

Honeyroar · 25/06/2021 22:20

The 90s was definitely the best decade of my life, but the 80s had better music.

wowhie · 25/06/2021 22:20

YADNBU

I was a 90s tween/teen. It was amazing! The music, the fashion, the excitement & optimism.

bodenbeaut · 25/06/2021 22:21

I love 80s music but it was the 90s when I had all my "firsts" I think that's what makes me feel so nostalgic for it. I'm sure it was shit at the time but I feel such fondness for it!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 25/06/2021 22:22

People can't be serious about the late 90s being best? Early to mid 90s best surely
And as for the decade music forgot I can't even begin to list what's wrong with that statement. Other than to say that award belongs to the 2000s.

ScribblyBaller · 25/06/2021 22:22

@Slub

Yes. The 80's were ace!

90's was the decade that music forgot.

SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC IN THE 90s.
Adreinnesarmy · 25/06/2021 22:22

Not that eye lash extensions are particularly a thing now 😂😂. It’s just that hers were noticeably bad even for then but she clearly didn’t give a shit. She literally was just like “here I am with my guitar” and no stylist or entourage.

MartyHart · 25/06/2021 22:22

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing
The end of the 80's Stock Aitken & Waterman music was shit but 80 to 86/7 was brilliant.
Punk, New Wave, Rock,
New Romantics, Ska . Birth of 90's dance music.
