Oh ffs, another thread where op, apparently 40+ posts in, realises information could be identifying so a thread posters have bothered to reply to is gone. Always seems to be when the resounding response is YABU. Funny that Hmm I'm sure I'm not the only one put off responding by this happening so often.

Looubylou · 12/06/2021 17:29

YANBU, a thread I commented on this morning has disappeared. Very annoying.

So annoying.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/06/2021 17:39

Exactly 'freckers*, total flounce. Purposely didn't identify the particular one as it is something that happens in general but if this doesn't last, least I've had my rant! Grin

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 12/06/2021 17:42

YANBU OP, this sort of thing is getting more and more ridiculous.

@Freckers if you report your post, the thread will probably stay, as long as no-one else makes it into a TAAT.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/06/2021 17:44

It's just happened again, tho a troll this time, so I know it's different. It's the clear 'Well, I didn't think it would go like that. Sniff.' posters that annoy me!

I'll report mine too

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/06/2021 17:46

That wasn't confirmed. Perhaps they realised it would be identifying Hmm

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/06/2021 17:48

I know mnhq probably can't, but if would be great if they could take a look and reply 'Well no, nothing v identifying there, the situation maybe but you as the poster, no. Thread stands Grin

OP posts:

Like a VAR for the thread.

"The moderator has been advised to look at the screen, slowing it down, checking again....THREAD STANDS!"

Mathusulahere · 12/06/2021 17:57

Thing that pisses me is when a poster posts dangerous misinformation and before it can be challenged ZAP.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 12/06/2021 18:23

Exactly Freckers Grin
At least if misinformation goes zap it's not spread.

I hate it when you're reading a thread and have offered advice and the OP asks for the thread to be removed due to 'real life concerns'.

In my opinion, you know the risks before you post. It should be a rule that Mumsnet forbid the removal of any thread, no matter what, even if someone they know are on Mumsnet and saw it. No exceptions. You take the risk to post, you know what you are doing, so too bad! Tough! Don't post at all if you are afraid of being outed. Imo that is not good enough reason for the removal of a thread. Post at your own risk, or don't post at all I say.

KarensGobbyChops · 12/06/2021 20:48

This happens to me a lot - I'm wondering if there's a connection to the type of thread I post on Grin.

Lockheart · 12/06/2021 20:51

Equally, don't post at all if you're not prepared to get closure or an appreciative response from the OP.

If you invest time and effort in an internet thread which could go poof at any moment for the sole reason that you want a thank you or a good story, more fool you.

Threads disappear, it happens. If you don't like it then other forums and other types of media are available.

Exactly Probably.

No one looking for a thank you or closure here Lockheart, just after a robust discussion to see OP get thread removed because everyone said they were BU is frustrating. I get what you're saying tho but understandably when there is a thread you're drawn to and post on, debate on etc it is a pain when it's gone and you know exactly why. I'll be slower to post in future tbh because as you say, it could absolutely disappear.

OP posts:
thecognoscenti · 12/06/2021 21:11

It's incredibly irritating, and never seems to happen when the OP is being backed up and agreed with. When they're getting their arse handed to them, they suddenly decide that having 2.4 kids and a husband who cycles or plays golf is DEFINITELY going to identify them.

LateAtTate · 12/06/2021 23:01

@NeonDreams exactly!
If people get identified it’s their problem. If they don’t want to be identified then don’t post

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/06/2021 05:55

Exactly to all of that! Another one gone overnight Hmm Puts me off posting.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 05/07/2021 10:17

Two moreon my watched list today Hmm I don't watch that many.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/07/2021 21:47

And another two.. Hmm I think I might be the jinx!

OP posts:
Whiskycav · 21/07/2021 21:51

Its happening more and more. Posters know if they tell mn, that they have over shared or have been recognised, MN will take it down.

So they all say that 3 I have been on today have been removed as op felt they could be outed in RL.

And yes, it's always when people aren't agreeing with them.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/07/2021 22:23

Exactly. It's annoying!!
