The f**king weather...

beardeddragon174 · 13/05/2021 19:00

I am BU. I know I am. But , here in Wales anyway, for the last 3(?) weeks, it's like mother nature is having a good old laugh going "poor bastards can only meet outside... we'll see about that!!!"

Is it really May or has it been March 2020 this whole time....?
😭😭😭😭

Another Brexit promise broken!!!

OverByYer · 13/05/2021 20:33

I’m so tired of it, the longest winter ever

OrangeBananaFish · 13/05/2021 20:40

I feel the same. I'm used to having heatwaves in May. Also the rain has been really heavy a lot of the time. It's rain you get on holiday except in the Med the rain only lasts half a day at the most then its bright blue skies and sunny weather again. We're just getting the rain. Hail too. Hopefully June will be better.

RandomMess · 13/05/2021 20:44

My town has its sunniest April on record and 2nd sunniest May on record last year. Better weather than "down south".

This year is just utterly miserable getting out with the dog is a gamble as the weather forecast keeps changing!

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 13/05/2021 20:54

I work in a school and we're having to leave doors open because of bloody Covid, so I'm still wearing a vest. Howling draughts in all the corridors. The only warm place is the staffroom, because if anyone opens a window there 'for air', we're all so sick of being freezing that it's instantly shut again.

Heating at home went off for about a day and is back on.

I'm very bored of wearing jeans when not at work. I'd just like the chance to wear some summer clothes.

Shergill15 · 13/05/2021 20:56

YNBU. So sick of the rain. Feels like November not May. I generally don't mind the cold but the rain quite literally dampens my spirits. Had some garden work planned but its too chuffing wet! Last year I bought some lovely Summer clothes but there was nowhere to go, now we can out but I really don't fancy soggy chips in a beer garden wearing a parka

Volcanoexplorer · 13/05/2021 21:00

YANBU. The weather has been shit. I’m fed up of bring cold and wet. Had enough now!

TheMoth · 13/05/2021 21:19

I've attended many a rainy prom in May. And pretty sure I've often worn tights until May half term, but that's often cos it's colder inside schools than out.

But it is a shit May.

ihavethehighground · 13/05/2021 21:22

Wait until it's hot and humid and people are complaining about not being able to sleep and sweating

Beseigedbykillersquirrels · 13/05/2021 21:23

My place of work switches the heating off in April until October and it has been chuffing freezing! Especially when having to have windows and sometimes doors open. We're all wearing coats.
The changes in the weather are remarkable too - you wake up to frost and 2 degrees, have rain and hail by lunchtime then it's 17 degrees and the sun's popped out mid-afternoon, it's hard to know what to put on when getting dressed.
It's utterly shite.

colouringindoors · 13/05/2021 21:24

YADNBU

It's utterly fucking miserable.
I REALLY need some sun, and soon Sad

BlueLovingGirl · 13/05/2021 21:24

I love the winter (I love being cosy and warm) but even I'm fed up of the constant rain.

LawrenceChaney22 · 13/05/2021 21:25

Never thought id still be wearing a scarf to work in may but here we are ! Not looking at the weather app anymore it’s depressing Sad

newtb · 13/05/2021 21:26

'Tis pissing down in SW France too if that makes people feel better. Poor lizards they' re too cold to come out and play.

nauticant · 13/05/2021 21:27

StillMedusa · 13/05/2021 21:28

My school has switched the heating off..as it's May... and we have to have all the windows open.. Covid.. and I wore my coat in the staffroom at lunch time! The classrooms are so chilly, the kids have barely any time outside as it is as each class (Special Ed) is going out separately. It's just grim. We had about 15 mins outside today in the rain.

WHERE IS MY SUNSHINE!?!?!?!

Coldwine75 · 13/05/2021 21:29

Same, non stop rain now for ages. Fed up.

Feedingthebirds1 · 13/05/2021 21:35

Typical Welsh weather🙄

This time last week I was on a narrowboat on the Llangollen Canal!

bitheby · 13/05/2021 21:35

I'm in Wales too. There have been some nice days here and there but the forecast now is for rain for days and days and days.

Rakip · 13/05/2021 21:36

Had smatterings of snow a week ago and just solid rain since then, I have my fingerscrossed for not even a sunny day! Just a day without rain and no heating on would be smashing right now!

Abracadabra12345 · 13/05/2021 21:38

@DynamoKev

I like living in a temperate climate where it's not too extreme. I don't like hot weather so this is just right for me. Sorry.
Me too. It’s spring, not summer. The humidity and heatwaves will be here soon enough. People just expect summer to start in April like last year (and recently, in previous years) which shouldn’t be the norm.
creaturcomforts · 13/05/2021 21:39

Nope, I was looking forward to at least a few days of sun, especially with covid, have felt it would give everyone a boost.

It's so weird, we had a couple of days of warmth and it was fantastic, and then back to this, its just so damp and miserable..

I've noticed it with my young teen dd, since covid struck she had been staying in her room, when the weather had been ok, she had been staying out with her friends after school, we need some warmer weather!!!

Abracadabra12345 · 13/05/2021 21:42

Oooh, interesting....

HalfBrick · 13/05/2021 21:45

My boiler is broken and won't be fixed for a few days, I'm home working, wearing a scarf and coat. I went for a spin in the car just to warm up. Ffs.

Northernsoullover · 13/05/2021 21:49

I wore tights to work the other day. Thick winter ones. IN MAY FFS!
