I enjoyed reading the thread on overrated places (so strictly this is a TAAT, sorry) but would love to know where in the UK people think is underrated.
Mine is Nantwich. I'd live there like a shot.

Leicester
I agree actually. Best place I've lived and worked and would go back like a shot if the logistics worked out.
romdowa · 12/05/2021 19:48

Belfast and cardiff. Both places I'm really excited to visit again.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/05/2021 19:49

Morecambe. Especially the Midland Hotel.

Grantham is rather interesting as well, random bits of history.

Heyha · 12/05/2021 19:51

Lots of Staffordshire is very nice too, I think. Stafford itself not so much but if you're more of a rural sort it's worth a look.

BillywigSting · 12/05/2021 19:52

I'm loving all these votes for Liverpool, and feel quite vindicated in my love of the place. It's a wonderful little city for sure.

Glasgow

Newcastle

Aberystwyth

Belfast

Namechangeforthis88 · 12/05/2021 19:54

Dundee. Loads to do.

jakeyboy1 · 12/05/2021 19:54

Ooh another - Chepstow - gorgeous.

JamCrackers · 12/05/2021 19:55

I agree on Birmingham and Liverpool. I’m a Londoner and they’re my other favourite UK cities.

Derry is a great place. Love walking round the wall.

Flappityflippers1 · 12/05/2021 19:56

The Wirral

Second a PP saying Chester, and also Hull.

Andover

RampantIvy · 12/05/2021 19:56

Yes to Newcastle and Northumberland.

My vote goes to Aberystwyth. It's the closest sizable town to me. Been here fifteen years and love it. Wouldn't want to live in England again. Rural Wales with beaches, mountains and a safe place to bring up kids.

Livelovebehappy · 12/05/2021 19:58

Hebden Bridge.

Honeybee2021 · 12/05/2021 19:59

Lookdeepintotheparka · 12/05/2021 20:03

Agree Northumberland is stunning!

Forest of Dean

Herefordshire

PetuniaPot · 12/05/2021 20:03

Lozza70 · 12/05/2021 20:03

County Fermanagh, Lakeland’s

VaggieMight · 12/05/2021 20:03

Lytham St Anne's. It's lovely for cycling along the seafront. It's near Blackpool but worlds apart.

CarrieBlue · 12/05/2021 20:03

Hull

wdmtthgcock · 12/05/2021 20:03

Newcastle
Dundee

wheresmymojo · 12/05/2021 20:07

Ashbourne

MissKeithsNeice · 12/05/2021 20:09

Is Leeds under-rated? Aren't most people of the opinion that its a great city?

I'd count both Northumberland coastline and Chester as active tourist spots. Likewise, neither Cardiff and Glasgow can be counted as underrated, surely?

wheresmymojo · 12/05/2021 20:10

I'm from rural Staffs near the Peak District (originally, parents still there) so lovely to see so much love for it just avoid Stoke

JokeTheCoalman · 12/05/2021 20:11

South of Scotland- Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway.
I think most people tend to go up to the Highlands for a visit but lots of beauty spots down here and tend to find the further South the more peaceful it is, lack of crowds which is nice

Fixitup2 · 12/05/2021 20:11

I agree with Chester.
