I enjoyed reading the thread on overrated places (so strictly this is a TAAT, sorry) but would love to know where in the UK people think is underrated.
Mine is Nantwich. I'd live there like a shot.

Wiltshire

Not exactly underrated so much as barely mentioned. Beautiful county - the downs are amazing. Lovely little towns and villages. Great walks, places to eat.

WhereYouLeftIt · 12/05/2021 21:56

Norwich.

I couldn't agree more. We have booked a holiday there this year.

Essex. Lots of pretty old villages like Dedham and it gets so much flack.

Bloodypunkrockers · 12/05/2021 21:57

Dundee.

Gets a bad rap but it is a fantastically vibrant city.

Keepyourdistance000 · 12/05/2021 21:59

Another vote here for Wiltshire.

Malteser71 · 12/05/2021 21:59

I agree about Nantwich!

Keepyourdistance000 · 12/05/2021 22:00

Holy Island and the surrounding area.

Scotland - all of it, especially the coasts.

WeeWelshWoman · 12/05/2021 22:00

Swansea.

FixTheBone · 12/05/2021 22:05

The wirral peninsula.

Some truly beautiful towns and villages
Parkgate ice cream
Beaches
Ridiculously good schools
Great transport

Littlecaf · 12/05/2021 22:06

Lancashire coast. Formby, Crosby, Hightown, Southport - and the weirdness of Hesketh........

Littlecaf · 12/05/2021 22:07

Ooooh and Canvey Island. Love a bit of Essex. Tacky but totally unique.

Maireas · 12/05/2021 22:08

Dundee - lovely and so interesting.
Bamburgh

goose1964 · 12/05/2021 22:11

Abingdon, it was a great weekend break, but that may have been helped by an all expenses weekend paid by a brewery.

Speedymarie · 12/05/2021 22:13

Saltburn, love going for a day out there. So pretty and no tacky arcades for the kids to mither for.

Poorlykitten · 12/05/2021 22:13

The Eden Valley. Stuck between the Lakes and The Yorkshire Dales so hardly gets a look in but just as lovely without the crowds.

@Crispynoodle

The whole of Northern Ireland! Simply stunning
This this this!
Snufkin2 · 12/05/2021 22:16

Another vote for Dumfries and Galloway - stunning coast line, great walking, biking, castles, gardens etc. Lots of hidden gems and never crowded. Dundee also fab.

I agree. I saw it on telly a couple of weeks ago and some of the villages are gorgeous. I'd love to visit and travel around a bit. It looks like a beautiful old county.

Nataliafalka · 12/05/2021 22:17

Belfast. What a lovely city and the architecture is amazing. Totally didn’t expect that

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 12/05/2021 22:20

Everyone needs to keep schtum about Shropshire/Shrewsbury. We like it all to ourselves as we’re greedy.

By all means come visit but it’s like Fight Club, the first rule of Shropshire is you don’t talk about Shropshire.

It’s nice to see some love for good old Brum. It’s had a dodgy rep for years but it’s a wee gem of a place that’s in the process of being polished. Brummies are on the whole some of the nicest folks I’ve ever met too.

WhipperSnapperSteve · 12/05/2021 22:22

Cheadle.

WhipperSnapperSteve · 12/05/2021 22:25

Great to see rural Staffs getting lots of mentions, I also really love Burton-on-Trent, although that's Derbyshire border.

MsTSwift · 12/05/2021 22:26

Bury st Edmonds is really nice

WhipperSnapperSteve · 12/05/2021 22:26

@Malteser71

Live just down the road, it's stunning.
