Just a carry on really from the other thread. Everyone seemed to have so many different words for "beeping' your horn.

OP posts:
Tianatiers · 15/04/2021 18:27

Honking

KVIIIlyne · 15/04/2021 18:27

depends what exactly you are trying to describe Grin
(from the other thread too!)

mommybear1 · 15/04/2021 18:28

Papped, toot toot (for toddler DS)

gophergordon · 15/04/2021 18:28

Beeped

WonkyCactus · 15/04/2021 18:28

Peep.

Effinell · 15/04/2021 18:29

Honked or peeped

VictoriaLudorum · 15/04/2021 18:29

It's a beep if I am annoyed (usually a fairly long one or two) and a toot if I am "greeting" someone (a couple of short ones).

FizzyPink · 15/04/2021 18:29

Beeping but we just got a new car and the horn is such an embarrassing squeak I’m having to hold in my road rage Blush

Wakemeuuuup · 15/04/2021 18:29

Beep or honk

MeanderingGently · 15/04/2021 18:29

'Sound' the horn, or 'beeped' it....

Saucery · 15/04/2021 18:31

Bip it. Or lean on it.

nyomihu · 15/04/2021 18:33

Beeped, papped or honked

Never Pomped

ScottishBeth · 15/04/2021 18:33

I know this isn't what you are asking but I have never beeped my horn! I've been driving two years. I tried to once but didn't press it hard enough! Luckily the driver of the other car saw me just in time. (I was on a roundabout and he nearly joined it without looking.)

ShowOfHands · 15/04/2021 18:35

I've never beeped/bibbed/sounded my horn in 8 years of driving.

DynamoKev · 15/04/2021 18:36

Blow or sound.

KVIIIlyne · 15/04/2021 18:37

@ShowOfHands

I've never beeped/bibbed/sounded my horn in 8 years of driving.
Shock

I believe you, but I am surprised!

You haven't even been behind someone who didn't notice the light was green and a gentle beep woke them up? It's not always aggressive or to defend yourself.

Mummy1608 · 15/04/2021 18:38

Honk or press. Occasionally parp, but parp also means fart in our household lol

SocraticJunkieWannabe · 15/04/2021 18:39

Beep

OhMyMirror · 15/04/2021 18:39

I say pamped/pamp. Im just outside Glasgow.

Angrypregnantlady · 15/04/2021 18:40

Pap. Beep. Honk.
My car isn't very good at doing the polite little beep though, so I try not to do it unless I have to, I flash my headlights to alert someone to traffic lights changing

PivotPivotPivottt · 15/04/2021 18:40

Beep. I've never beeped my horn except from a couple if times passing someone I know. My car is old and the horn is pathetic I would too embarrassed to use it aggressively 😂

KVIIIlyne · 15/04/2021 18:42

I had a car like that! It makes driving really hard!

SomewhereInbetween1 · 15/04/2021 18:42

BrownEyedGirl80 · 15/04/2021 18:42

BrownEyedGirl80 · 15/04/2021 18:43
