This is a niche AIBU but I'm fit to burst.

Just get it on FFS.

YANBU

Put us out of our misery (but not quite yet...?) Grin

BritPopBabe · 28/03/2021 12:22

Agreed! I think Jo will string us along for another couple of books yet though!

summeriscomingsoon · 28/03/2021 12:24

No. No more stringing along. My nerves are shattered with anticipation.

Just finished Troubled Blood. I'm desperate now.

They won’t get together until JKR has decided she’s done with the series of books. It’ll be the last part of the last book.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 28/03/2021 12:26

It’s better to keep them as working partners with tension
If they get together it’ll ruin it. Like When Niles & Daphne became a couple

HelloDulling · 28/03/2021 12:27

It will be the end though!

Oh no. No no no. I need resolution.

OP posts:
Snowfalling · 28/03/2021 12:28

No. Dear God no. Please no. Hell no.

I would lose respect for JKR if she pulled a cheap trick like that. It would ruin the series for me.

Yea I was going to say that! It always goes a bit ‘feb’ afterwards doesn’t it?

Who wants to read about a couple working together and arguing about who did the breakfast dishes that morning?

summeriscomingsoon · 28/03/2021 12:33

Who wants to read about a couple working together and arguing about who did the breakfast dishes that morning?

Me!

I want to read a cracking good detective story interspersed with them grabbing each other for fantastic sex.

I need to lie down.

OP posts:
toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/03/2021 12:35

I worked with a couple who had an affair, left their respective spouses and lived together. Trust me - a meeting that starts normal then descends into who didn’t take out the rubbish isn’t fun...

toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/03/2021 12:36

I misread that as forensic sex!

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 28/03/2021 12:36

I don’t want them to be a couple it is really cliched ending. Aww they’re a couple
How predictable and dull

toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/03/2021 12:37

Hart to Hart!

WisestIsShe · 28/03/2021 12:37

YABU their relationship is good. There's more to life than romance.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 28/03/2021 12:37

What? Don’t know what that is

Dogsaresomucheasier · 28/03/2021 12:39

That’s the thing with great working partnerships, they are far better than most domestic ones.

I think I’d like to read Strike and Robin as a happy-ish couple, too. Strike is so very nearly the perfect bloke with a well-developed sense of feminism someone should enjoy him. I quite fancy some mini-Strikes, too.

Mn753 · 28/03/2021 12:39

Yanbu

BritPopBabe · 28/03/2021 12:40

I'm with Judas. Last part of the seventh and final book. I do think there might be a fumble before then which they both agree to forget ever happened.

A fumble will see me through for a while

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 28/03/2021 12:48

Agree, if they get together it will be the end. I can't see it working if they are a couple

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 28/03/2021 12:50

It’s a cop out if they become a couple. Changes the dynamic and terrible cliched.

BritPopBabe · 28/03/2021 12:50

I hope Jo is reading this!

Is there fanfic?

NewYearNewTwatName · 28/03/2021 12:51

A fumble will see me through for a while

yeah me too Grin all the regrets but not regrets blah blah blah.

TBF the first 2 books I really didn't want them to get together or have any romantic notions, I just wanted light detective stories, but now I've got use to the narrative I kinda just want it over with.

Thing is I know it'll spoil the books so sort of still don't want it to happen.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 28/03/2021 13:03

Don’t do it Jo...
