MM's dad.

I mean the interview this morning. He said that H told him it was his own fault that he had a heart attack! WTF seriously. He missed his daughter's wedding due to a heart attack and Charles walked her down the aisle (although they seem to dislike C as well now). He stupidly released her letter since he couldn't get through to the couple and now not allowed to see his grandchild. I feel sad for him.

YABU - stupid to feel sorry for him

He has not and continues not to act like a caring father. He has undermined her and fanned the flames of the press. If Megan posted what he has done and the things he has said on here we would be telling her to go nc and talking about toxic parents. Just because someone is old and I’ll doesn’t make them a nice person.

He reminds me very much of my DH’s mother. We’re no contact.

I’m still in shock about how self-serving and manipulative she was. I’d never experienced it first hand before her.

Meghan’s dad gives off that same energy.

YABU. The man was a fairly absentee father, he sold his daughter out to the press, sold her private correspondence and now sells his tale of woe to anyone left who'll listen. Not at all surprised she went NC. It's what she'd be advised to do on here!

And sorry but this is bullshit. He willingly and knowingly released her letter to the media that already hated her, to make a few quid and get a bit famous.

Nobody who ever wanted to have a relationship with his child would have thought that was a good way to go about it.

YABU - He said in very plain English that he is blackmailing his own child and you feel sad for him. How is releasing private correspondence going to “get through to the couple”. The mental gymnastics being done to make Meghan the bad guy is absolutely phenomenal.

Agree with you. Prince Harry thinks space between him and his family will find a way to heal itself but isn’t willing to heal the relationship between her and her father.

So disappointed about how they have conducted themselves since leaving the Royal Family.

I’ve always felt a bit sorry for him but he should really have lived by the no comment advise. It’s sad all round to see a family relationship that seemed so close now so fractured. The press seduced him, I don’t doubt it.

I’m sorry to go off at a tangent a bit but what is the thing they could have done to intervene that they said they could only do once and if they did it they couldn’t then protect their children? What did that mean? A super injunction or the like? I can’t figure that out.

The level of unreasonable you are is off the scale. For starting another Meghan thread, for defending this man, for actually believing anything he says, for thinking you have more insight into Meghan's personal relationship with her father than she does....

YANBU. I can't think what he did before the wedding that was so bad as to warrant being cut off by his own daughter. Before the wedding, it was one set of photographs. And his future son in law had never bothered to meet him, despite flying all over the world.

I can't understand how its acceptable for one person to make a career out of being a victim, but another is given no sympathy.

This is really disgusting. What if he dies without ever seeing his daughter again? Does one silly mistake cancel a lifetime of raising someone? Plenty of us had much worse fathers than him but remained civil.

This smacks of using people then callously disregarding them when they are of no more use/might be embarrassing.

Completely agree. Both him and his other daughter are just in it for as much cash as they can muster and as many problems they can cause Meghan.
