To think that chocolate tastes better when it's shaped like an egg

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:17

Is it just me who thinks this?

Currently obsessed with mini eggs - the Smarties ones, Milky Bar ones, the regular Mini Eggs.

Why does chocolate seem to taste better when it is shaped like an egg!? Or am I just a weirdo!?

Yes! You are not weird!

My partner hates Easter eggs. More fool him, they are better. He's a moron.

Happycat1212 · 06/03/2021 21:19

Yes, it really does taste better!

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2021 21:19

Bunnies also taste better than bar shaped. Mini eggs are incredible.

MuddleMoo · 06/03/2021 21:20

They do! The smarties egg is just lovely.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:20

What is wrong with your partner!? I cannot believe he doesn't enjoy a chocolate egg 😂

It is so bizarre, I know the chocolate is the same as the bars but egg shaped chocolate is just a thousand times better!

Yes! DS agrees with me. Why does easter egg chocolate taste so much nicer than regular chocolate?

Sooverthemill · 06/03/2021 21:21

Of course it does. Also bunny or any animal shape.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:21

@AnneLovesGilbert don't get me started on Maltesers bunnies...oh my god they are divine

FlyingPandas · 06/03/2021 21:23

OMG yes yes yes yes a million times yes.

With you 100% OP.

I have no idea why a Cadburys Easter Egg tastes nicer than a Cadburys chocolate bar but it does.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:23

I heard M&S have done a CHOCOLATE DACHSHUND for Easter
Oh my days

Eckhart · 06/03/2021 21:24

Cadbury's Animal Bars are the same thickness as an Easter egg, and individual Milkybars. They do the trick.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:25

@thenightsky

Yes! DS agrees with me. Why does easter egg chocolate taste so much nicer than regular chocolate?
It is one of life's mysteries but it is so true isnt it! Why can't we have Christmas eggs and August bank holiday eggs

Why should we reserve this delicacy for Easter??

OP posts:
Nightbear · 06/03/2021 21:26

Chocolate has to be in coin form at Christmas.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:26

@Nightbear I wholeheartedly agree but can we start a petition for Christmas eggs this year

OP posts:
LadyCatStark · 06/03/2021 21:26

Yea they do and so do advent calendar chocolates (as long as they’re not that awful Kinerton)!

rainbowninja · 06/03/2021 21:27

I'm inclined to agree but I feel like the Cadbury's Easter eggs have been thinner and not as good in the last couple of years? I used to love Cadbury's eggs. Now I would rather have Green and Blacks.

DwangelaForever · 06/03/2021 21:27

I think whatever way it sets in easter egg form tempers it differently to bars. 1000% nicest in egg form.

Queenie6655 · 06/03/2021 21:29

A million times yes

Just scoffed a few this week

On a health kick now but my god those eggs were divine 😍😍😍👌🏻

OnlyHerefortheBiscuits · 06/03/2021 21:29

YANBU!! I wouldn't trust someone who didn't like CURVED chocolate better than regular chocolate

....or people who 'just couldn't possibly' eat the whole thing in one sitting....😂

Scarby9 · 06/03/2021 21:30

100%
I don't now like the taste of most orfinary chocolate bares eg. Cadbury's etc.

But give me that same chocolate shaped like a egg and three times the price per ounce and I will eat it till the cows come home.

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 06/03/2021 21:30

@rainbowninja maybe they are making them thinner to reduce the fat or sugar content or something?

OP posts:
AntigoneLost · 06/03/2021 21:30

Completely agree. Can’t stand Cadbury’s bars since the recipe changed but the eggs are almost as nice as the bars used to be, even though it’s the new recipe.

rainbowninja · 06/03/2021 21:36

Didn't realise Cadbury's had changed their recipe. I'm sure the eggs are thinner but I do still love mini eggs and creme eggs 😋

Liquorishtoffee · 06/03/2021 21:38

Oh yes. Must be eaten with a cuppa.

Unless it’s a Creme Egg as that is just toe-curlingly sweet.

SellFridges · 06/03/2021 21:44

So, the thinner the chocolate, the higher quality it needs to be. So Easter Eggs are all made from high quality recipe chocolate. If you like Cadbury, pretty much the best you can get is a packet of Buttons.
