Right, it's 2 in the morning, I've drank too much coffee in a bid to stay up and finish this essay, and I cannot stop thinking about the Richard Osman sex dream thread from the other day.
Richard is not my type despite the very large hands but it has got me thinking about comedy-adjacent people who I think are Quite Fit, and I need to know I'm not alone.

My picks:

  • Richard Ayoade - awkward and funny and lovely and hot
  • James Acaster - exactly the same reasons (I have a type Blush)
  • Mike Wozniak - I was lucky enough to go to the Taskmaster recordings in October and after seeing him on there I've secretly thought of him as quite attractive. Think it's the moustache, but I'm usually anti-facial hair so I'm not quite sure where that's come from...

Please entertain me during my coffee-fuelled mania by telling me your comedy crushes. I can't be the only one can I?

Oh bother, I've completely neglected to mention Aisling Bea and Rose Matafeo (what can I say, I love an accent)

Oh what's his name..the curly haired one in fisherman's friends, bohemian rhapsody and swimming with men.

msby · 26/02/2021 02:12

Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies

SpanishDanceTroupe · 26/02/2021 02:15

Rhod Gilbert and Greg Davies
Yes to Rhod! It's mostly the accent, I think (I love Elis James for the same reason), and the fact he sort of seems like the missing Welsh Gallagher brother. Never really got the Greg hype, though...

Just googled Mike Wozniak as I couldn’t picture who it was. I never found him attractive as Brian in Man Down but the photo of him with longer hair and the thick full moustache has just changed my mind!

Henio · 26/02/2021 02:29

Ed gamble for me!

SyntaxSlut · 26/02/2021 02:29

Joe Wilkinson... can't get enough of the "hipster lumberjack" look 🤣

FossilisedFanny · 26/02/2021 02:33

Greg Davies and Mickey Flanagan

heatherhoneys · 26/02/2021 02:34

Hugh Dennis

God yes, James Acaster. I don't think I've ever had such an intense crush on any celebrity as an adult. It's embarrassing. It's something about his sleepy eyes and the fact that I want to make him do that proper beam that he does when he finds something funny, and also that he had his heart broken and I want to mend it. Sigh.

Quite fancy Greg Davies as well, it's the tall school teacher thing. And there's really someone every season of Taskmaster. But nobody pushes my buttons quite like Acaster.

ManchesterBees · 26/02/2021 02:38

Lee Mack!!

It's like you've read my mind! I feel quite embarrassed about it really, like I've reverted to my early teenage self BlushGrin

Dylan Moran, during the Black Books era. Probably still would now to be honest.

Lee Mack!!
Never had much of an opinion on Lee but since seeing how hilarious he is on the upcoming series of Taskmaster (or what I saw of it, at least) I have warmed to him considerably!

He's an American comedian that randomly popped up on my Facebook feed, Drew Lynch. He's really good looking (I think anyway) and has a stutter and the cutest laugh!
My kid refers to Richard Adoyade as her dad every time he comes on TV. Her dad has chosen not to be involved but if she asks questions she gets honest answers, she has asked what his name is, his name is Richard, it was when RA had the ads on tele where he said his name is Richard.... she pipes up that's my dad. She did this for a couple of years but now it's changed to that's my dad that's not my dad he just has the same name as my dad, cos of my groans to the same "joke" every time he's on tv. So Richard Adoyade has a special place in our home even though he's not my type, he is my kids "dad". Prob shouldn't tell the Internet that but 🤫

peachgreen · 26/02/2021 02:50

Me too @SpanishDanceTroupe. One of my friends has the same crush and we are constantly texting back and forth about it. It's ridiculous, I haven't been like this since I was about 16, I swear!

Have you read his books? It won't help. He's so bloody lovely.

ShowOfHands · 26/02/2021 02:50

I saw Wozniak and all I could think of was Steve Wozniak (who seems very lovely but not really a comedy crush candidate)! Google has helped.

TinySongstress · 26/02/2021 03:01

Dylan Moran Blush

SquarePeggyLeggy · 26/02/2021 03:06

Does Ben Willbond count, being a comedy actor? Well, anyway, him.
Kieran Hodgson, weirdly even more so when he's doing his impressions

supersonicginandtonic · 26/02/2021 03:37
