To ask which comedians you think are hot?

Right, it's 2 in the morning, I've drank too much coffee in a bid to stay up and finish this essay, and I cannot stop thinking about the Richard Osman sex dream thread from the other day.
Richard is not my type despite the very large hands but it has got me thinking about comedy-adjacent people who I think are Quite Fit, and I need to know I'm not alone.

My picks:

  • Richard Ayoade - awkward and funny and lovely and hot
  • James Acaster - exactly the same reasons (I have a type Blush)
  • Mike Wozniak - I was lucky enough to go to the Taskmaster recordings in October and after seeing him on there I've secretly thought of him as quite attractive. Think it's the moustache, but I'm usually anti-facial hair so I'm not quite sure where that's come from...

Please entertain me during my coffee-fuelled mania by telling me your comedy crushes. I can't be the only one can I?

I also used to love Rob Newman and Sean Hughes when I was a teenager.

Mummadeze · 26/02/2021 08:24

Can’t believe not one person has said Rob Beckett. He is my comedian crush.

Ed Byrne
Ed Gamble
Russell Howard
Jon Richardson
Dara O'Brien
Jason Manford

Katherine Ryan
Ellie Taylor
Aisling Bea
Sara Pascoe
Sarah Millican

And I know they're not technically comedians but Rachel Riley and Susie Dent from 8out of ten cats does countdown.

MrsTophamHat · 26/02/2021 08:33

Young Bob Mortimer
Chris Ramsey
Jack Whitehall

Limpshade · 26/02/2021 08:33

WHY IS STEPHEN COLBERT NOT ON THIS LIST YET?!

Stephen Colbert

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 26/02/2021 08:35

Yes @Welshmumma92 I was going to say Chris Ramsey!

Richard Ayoade lives on my road but in one of the houses at the 'posh' end.

moonlight1705 · 26/02/2021 08:35

David Mitchell
Ben Miller
Adam Hills (not with the beard though)
Rhod Gilbert

JimmyJabs · 26/02/2021 08:39

Oh yes, Chris Ramsey! When he was on Strictly, I felt like I was the only one who was fixated on him and not Kelvin Fletcher, who I thought looked like he'd been made by Nick Park.

PachinkoFreeFood · 26/02/2021 08:42

Jack Dee, Lee Evans! Also... Michael Mcintyre, Ricky Gervais and Ross Noble! Love a funny person... also bit of a crush on Zoe Lyons and Susan Calman.

PachinkoFreeFood · 26/02/2021 08:44

Apologies for all the exclamation marks, got myself rather flustered Grin

OverByYer · 26/02/2021 08:48

Rik Mayall
Greg Davies
Lee Mack
Jack Dee
Frank Skinner

Negnog · 26/02/2021 08:50

David Mitchell and Richard Ayoade.

Katherine Ryan talked a while ago about Beta males on her podcast and it really put me off James Acaster. I’m not sure if that who she was actually talking about but that’s who it sounded like to me and it made me look at him differently (possibly unfairly)

demelza82 · 26/02/2021 08:52

Nick Helm, Greg Davies, Rhod Gilbert, Ada Buxton

Ha at seeing Mike Wozniak mentioned so many times - he lives in the same city as me, used to see him and his family often before lockdown

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 26/02/2021 08:52

Russell Kane. So not my type, thin, hyper and camp. But I find him utterly compelling, can’t takes my eyes off him when he’s on tv.
Lee Mack but only since the beard.
And yes yes yes to Rob Newman.

Pyewackect · 26/02/2021 08:55

To be honest, none of them.

Negnog · 26/02/2021 08:57

**Katherine Ryan talked about Beta males in the comedy industry - not just in general!

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 26/02/2021 08:57

Oh, Sean Hughes. Adored him as a teenager.

Also Paul Merton. Big crush since my teenage years

Icanflyhigh · 26/02/2021 08:58

Had a thing for Jim Jeffries for years...

Jericha · 26/02/2021 09:00

Rob Delaney
Richard ayoade

BelgianTruffles · 26/02/2021 09:03

Can't believe some of these! I like a funny man but some of these do not need the ego boost of someone fancying them! How can you fancy jack Whitehall given his comedy is essentially about being an overgrown teenage boy?!

I agree with rhod Gilbert and Ed gamble. And Noel fielding. I wouldn't say no to James Acaster either. I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them

converseandjeans · 26/02/2021 09:03

@Pimlicojo

I can't remember his name but the German guy who is sometimes on Would I Lie To You. I find him weirdly attractive.
Henning Wehn? Really?!
LagneyandCasey · 26/02/2021 09:08

I had massive crushes on Kenny Everett and Harry Enfield as a teen.

Nowadays its Greg Davis and Adam Hills.

Labobo · 26/02/2021 09:10

@converseandjeans - I can understand Henning Wehn. He's got a real sparkle in his eyes and a great grin. And he's hilarious. Which not all comedians are.

BelgianTruffles · 26/02/2021 09:11

Henning Wehn seems like a genuinely lovely guy though, and he's seems so clever and funny. His voice is really smooth as well, you could listen to him talk for ages

Some men in comedy seem to have a very high opinion of themselves, and their comedy. I get vibes they wouldn't treat you very well, but Henning would Grin
