...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

Black bin liners. I've been on a mission to stop accumulating new stuff and get rid of stuff we no longer use. I've got rid of about 30 bags of stuff already - some are going to a charity shop (when any of them open again) but a lot I've managed to just throw out. I'd like to embrace minimalism but not sure that's possible while kids are living in the house!

lotusbell · 19/02/2021 22:52

@diamondpony80, am moving house in a week. Have had 3 bags full in my hall just waiting for a charity shop bag to come through the letterbox and was about to give up and take to a nearby clothing bin id read about on Facebook then one was put through last week. My dad lives down the road so I pinched his and filled that too and they were picked up on Monday. I was so happy!

Larsingsong · 19/02/2021 22:55

I bought one of these.
And as someone who's knackered and can't concentrate on anything taxing atm, plus not artistic one bit. It properly relaxed me.

Nintendo Switch and Fitness Ring

Apple Watch

Apple 4k plus box so I can do Apple fitness plus workouts on a tv rather than my phone

Dyson v11

Veg box subscription
Tesco delivery pass (paid with clubcard points)
Doves Farm flour box (delivered)
Bloom and Wild monthly flowers - they last 2 weeks
Seasalt long coat that's lightweight, pretty cosy and waterproof
New Magimix food processor as my old one was leaking oil
Leggings - I've pretty much given up jeans
Massive jigsaw board that fits under the sofa but also has 4 slim drawers for storing pieces eg all the blue bits in one drawer
Jigsaws from Gibsons - love the way they tessellate and they are a British company

orchidsonabudget · 19/02/2021 23:06

@Notgoingouttoday

Several pairs of leggings with a phone pocket - have been living in them since WFH.
What brand are these please?

Bigger house with a home office!

Caplin · 19/02/2021 23:29

New mattress, pillows and duvet 😁 god I slept amazingly and haven’t felt any aches and pains.

A puppy, saving my mental health after losing my brother and dad within 9 months of each other.

Caplin · 19/02/2021 23:30

Oh, and Saint and Sofia trousers have been a pleasure!

Babysharkdoodoodood · 19/02/2021 23:39

New Flyflots slippers
Instant pot which is a life saver when I'm on a late shift (12.30-2200)
New office chair as dining chair was killing my back. OH got me one from his office but I gave it to ds for his college work, as a reward for managing to get distinctions from home.

Just bought hand warmers from Etsy as suggested above by @Aurea

And a 3 hub extension lead with usb sockets so I can charge whilst insta-potting.

scottishgirl242 · 19/02/2021 23:41

A new house!

Celledora · 19/02/2021 23:44

@Lockdownlumpy Usb charging handwarmers - which ones did you get?

meisthree · 20/02/2021 00:13

Lockdown #1. We bought a Lazy-Spa inflatable hot tub for £150 from a friend. Lived in it through the whole first lock down. Kids loved it, I loved it. But the novelty wore off and we haven't used it since. Might bring it back out in the summer but the stress of getting the chemical balance right was unbearable in the end.

Lockdown #2.

MissCaptain · 20/02/2021 00:23

Did you find a heating method for your pool ?

meisthree · 20/02/2021 00:25

Lockdown #2 board games, cards, gin! Expensive gin and wine and food boxes. Bought hoverboards for the children with go kart attachments which were a life saver. They actually wanted to go outside rather than being dragged kicking and screaming. Bought a shed load of houseplants which are slowly gradually dying - each death is a stab to my heart as it shows how rubbish I am.
Spent loads of money. Felt guilty but it was all done out of boredom. Then was skint as partner self employed with minimal income. Sad times

Lockdown #3. Oodies for me and the kids. Discovering cheap nespresso pod knock offs on Amazon. Still have the wine boxes but have dispensed with the gin! Struggling to keep oddly fragile houseplants alive.

Shoulddobetta123 · 20/02/2021 00:29

My bike pannier. Cost £12.99, fit loads of groceries in it, a game changer

CatsnCoffee · 20/02/2021 00:47

@WaltzForDebbie

Thanks. I’ll check them out!

PeapodBurgundy · 20/02/2021 02:48

A home Sand Art Kit! My kids are rally into it, but the packs are quite prices. I bought refillable bottles which makes it much cheaper, and we get a better mix of colours :-)

I've dabbled in the odd bit myself of an evening as well. It's quite therapeutic :-)

GrimDamnFanjo · 20/02/2021 02:53

Wine in a box, various meal deliveries, milkman, who gives a crap for loo roll.

Pyewhacket · 20/02/2021 02:59

Sports bra.

Ineke · 20/02/2021 04:38

Bird Table, bird food, binoculars, great for de stressing and connecting to nature if walks have been too full on.

User23456 · 20/02/2021 04:41

A proper office chair - I'm no longer in pain.

ivykaty44 · 20/02/2021 06:10

I’ve started using milk & more with the app & it’s great to be able to just order the milk and it’s on the doorstep next morning, along with vegetables and meat, eggs and cakes or even cleaning products

I wanted to ditch the plastic waste & it’s certainly reduced as we no longer have plastic bottle but it’s so much more convenient and saves popping to the shop for milk

ivykaty44 · 20/02/2021 06:14

@Caplin I really wanted some but the inside leg is only 27”, standard is 28 usually so I guess there cropped but I’m 31”
