...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

An 8 cubic yard skip

m0therofdragons · 18/02/2021 21:27

Oh, 3 vacuum cleaners after my cleaner closed her business. First one wasn’t great on carpet so I sold it and now I have a Gtech cordless and a corded shark. I love them both. Gtech for a quick clear up and the shark for a more thorough once a week clean.

Suchalicklepumpkin · 18/02/2021 21:28

Kitchenaid sifter and weighing scale

A handheld pastry blender

A Karcher window vac

Ring doorbell (not that it’s getting any use)

Hair clippers

Echo Show for my little boy and his favorite uncle so they can see each other daily

VinylDetective · 18/02/2021 21:29

Projector to watch films on the sitting room wall. We used it in the garden last summer too. It’s like having a home cinema.

TigerBilly · 18/02/2021 21:30

@NoCherryNoDeal

Also a 2 litre water bottle with a straw.

Will be so much easier to up my water intake.

I haven’t read all the comments to see if someone has beat me to it...This would be so much easier for my red wine intake. 😜

Most useful item purchased.... decent bottle opener 🤣

A paper shredder - my old one died at the start of lockdown 1 just as I started pruning all the paperwork in my filing cabinet.

A spin bike, rowing machine and resistance bands. We stopped going to the gym before lockdown 2 as people weren't taking social distancing seriously. Fortunately that meant we were able to order and get our equipment before the next lockdown rush!

A new pair of walking boots as old pair leaked - and we've done a lot of walking through wet muddy fields.

A Shark vacuum cleaner to replace the pathetic Dyson cordless that hardly picked up any bits.

AllAroundTheWrekin · 18/02/2021 21:33

An Instapot

a pressure cooker / slow cooker / saute / yoghurt maker / soup maker / rice cooker / steamer / sous vide / oven - all in one pot.

It's flipping amazing.

ivykaty44 · 18/02/2021 21:33

I hired a spinbike - its going back in April as I know I won't use it during the summer, then I can see whether I hire it again next November or rejoin the gym

Thatwentbadly · 18/02/2021 21:33

@Kolo

Do I need a robot vacuum cleaner? 🤔
Yes!
VerbenaGirl · 18/02/2021 21:34

Amazon Prime, which I cover in free Kindle books and urgent school supplies alone.
An Instant Pot - bought to replace my broken slow cooker, but really useful to have the other features too.
Cable & Cotton lights to make my bedroom more relaxing, as I was feeling a bit stressy at bedtime. The orange ones are particularly calming.
Outsmarted game - which is really good for playing with teens.

Harveywoo · 18/02/2021 21:35

Extra bantam chooks
Maybelline mascara primer (how did I and my feeble eyelashes not know of this sooner?)
Philips lumea
A roll up jigsaw puzzle mat
A pile of cheap printer ink cartridges for the kids school work
Very stretchy jeggings to accommodate my lockdown ballooning
Simply cook monthly sub
Loving everyone’s purchases, trying not to add the lot to my Amazon basket!

HurricaneBitch · 18/02/2021 21:36

Eufy
Gousto subscription
Hammock
Sandwich/Panini/Waffles toaster
Speaker (DH got me it for Christmas and I bloody love it)
Cardigan that wraps around me, it's my cardigan of doom!

NotQuiteUsual · 18/02/2021 21:38

5 Billy Bookcases.

Our lounge is organized and showcases our shit nicely

Wood fired pizza oven Blush it was heaven sent over the summer and then beyond. We spent some of the money we had budgeted for a week away at spring bank.

Welshwabbit · 18/02/2021 21:43

Two things:

(1) Finally getting a monitor to connect to my laptop. Having two screens has made everything so much easier.

(2) An electric piano. Didn't realise you could get them for significantly under £1000 with weighted keys and everything. Took the plunge and it has made me really happy. I last played regularly when I was in my teens. Hasn't taken me long to get a few pieces back up to "enjoyment" standard. My eldest is also learning and having lessons (currently remotely) with an old friend, which has been lovely too.

Maiyakat · 18/02/2021 21:45

Gorilla gym for DD
Decent wellies for me - walked through a lot of mud and puddles!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/02/2021 21:47

Proper hairdressing scissors, ordered immediately BJ made his announcement in March. I have a blunt fringe and even my hairdresser commented the other day (on Instagram, I haven’t seen him in person since December) how good I was getting at it!

CoRhona · 18/02/2021 21:47

Maybelline mascara primer (how did I and my feeble eyelashes not know of this sooner?)

False eyelashes. I’ve taught myself how to put them on and much prefer how I look on video now!
Just strip glue ones, Eyelure.

Kobo for my elderly, library addict mum

I bought something similar after seeing my neighbour in hers so much.

She always looks so cosy and covered up while I was always manoeuvring a wheelie bin whilst clutching a cardigan round myself and freezing my wotsits off.

In fact all my lockdown purchases have been warm and comfy clothing I think. Smile

Livinglavidalockdown · 18/02/2021 21:51

Nail drill and acrylic set.
I can now do my own nails, so will never need to return to the nail bar.

weegiemum · 18/02/2021 21:51

Wine.
Bluetooth speaker (was for Christmas from ds18) and now I can blast out cheesy 80s music and cause housebound teens to groan and roll their eyes.
Wine.
