Lotus Biscoff spread. So many people rave about it and how they’re addicted and it’s better than Nutella. So I got some, for the first time, to put on pancakes.

And it’s rubbish: like prechewed biscuits in oil 🤮 I was expecting something brilliant and it was 🤢

Pancake spread with Gu salted caramel spread wrapped around a banana was divine though.

People who hate it - did you try smooth or crunchy? Smooth is a bit rubbish, bmcrunchy is amazing! Also, if you don't get the real thing but a knock off it's pretty gross.

I agree the speed is rank, but they also do a sauce for drizzling over desserts/pancakes/whatever you like and it’s amazing on waffles.

Making your own is a good to control the sweetness and select your preferred texture. It works with a fair number of biscuits such as Lotus Biscoff or those lovely Swedish gingersnaps that always arrive in rubble and dust if you buy them from Amazon. Stella Parks' recipe is excellent:

I bought it a few months ago after reading about it on here. Horrible. Binned most of it. Disappointing much. Sickly.

DSis adores it and bought me some for Christmas a couple of years ago. I gagged and chucked it out. Too sweet even for DC. It put me off the biscuits and I used to like them.

I own a coffeeshop and anything I make with biscoff flies out, in fact I'm making a biscoff cheesecake tomorrow...I don't get it myself, I could take it or leave but it's definitely very popular!

Picked our Gu spread up from Waitrose but The Google tells me it’s also in Sainsbury’s & Morrison’s.

You are not wrong op. It just tastes of sugar and oil and is pretty disgusting. I really do not understand the hype.

It's too claggy on its own, you need to make a Cheesecake with it. I can't make them anymore as I just eat it all....

Have seen it on the supermarket shelves and thought as I like the biscuits I should like this. Now not so sure though I have seen a few recipes using it. I really really do not need this and just have to keep telling myself this. Op your review is definitely helping.

We had honeycomb ice cream and chocolate in our pancakes tonight. Bloody awesome! No need to buy weird claggy biscuit oil spread!

Pre chewed biscuits in oil is exactly what it tastes like.

I like it melted in the microwave and poured on ice cream.

I think it would be clag central on a pancake but am a traditionalist and only like lemon and sugar or butter and sugar.

YaBU. But only have it occasionally, it is v sweet and millions of calories

Maltesers spread is also ok.
