What would you say are your good / healthy habits? Anything from healthy foods you eat? Exercise you do? Hobbies like reading? How do you relax from work? Keep fit? Looking for lots of healthy inspiration!

I take a multivitamin and apple cider vinegar every day

I try and exercise is some form every day, I like running most but in January the weather made that dangerous quite a lot so I did a home hiit workout or a 3mile walk

I got rid of facebook, that one has done wonders for my mental health

Oh and I have a little glass next to the kitchen sink and fill it and drink it every time I go into the kitchen

ZenNudist · 05/02/2021 18:23

I drink fizzy water and lime as my treat drink, rather than wine or g&t.

I also drink litres of peppermint tea all day.

I have meat free Friday.

EssentialHummus · 05/02/2021 18:23

I rarely drink. It’s not a conscious thing tbh, I just don’t have much of a taste for it.

Pinkpeanut27 · 05/02/2021 18:24

I’m rubbish at exercise but walk at least 4 k a day with my 10 yr old .
Have turned my diet around since before Xmas and ditched sugar and white carbs and make sure half of any meal is veg .

Really need to up the exercise though

Conkergame · 05/02/2021 18:25

I exercise every morning (do a different type each day so I don’t overstrain one muscle set) and do yoga every evening to make sure I get a proper stretch.

OhTheTastyNuts · 05/02/2021 18:27

I do a HIIT workout every day. It only takes 20 mins but I'm so much more toned as a result!

ConkerBonkers · 05/02/2021 18:29

I try to have a relaxing hot bath every night. Not watching a lot of news is also good for the soul! Eating oily fish regularly, fresh veg every day, and keeping hydrated are also key.

ConkerBonkers · 05/02/2021 18:29

Forgot to say, I don't drink either, and limit caffeine to once a day.

SandysMam · 05/02/2021 18:31

I don’t drink alcohol. I haven’t for several years and I feel and look so much better for it. I look back now and can’t believe I did that to my body!

Pukkatea · 05/02/2021 18:32

I walk at least 10k steps a day and exercise 4-5 days a week. I could use some more healthy habits though, I'm currently eating custard out of the pot.

IMissFrance · 05/02/2021 18:33

I do HIIT 3 times a week, yoga twice and try and get in a jog if I can.

No alcohol or caffeine. (That's more because of a medication I take, but health benefits too)

And limit my carbs.

Titsywoo · 05/02/2021 18:33

Gardening/having an allotment - good exercise, nutritous food with no weedkillers etc used, time in the fresh air and hands in the dirt (the last 2 do me a world of good!)

Strokethefurrywall · 05/02/2021 18:37
  • Exercise (either HIIT or weight train) 6 x a week
  • rarely drink
  • Eat a plant based diet (no meat, dairy or processed foods)
  • drink a lot of water
  • walk/run outside as much as possible
  • walk the stairs to 7th floor of my office building as many times as possible each day
  • get at least 7-9 hours sleep each night
  • take time to read or listen to podcasts
  • ignore my emails as soon as I leave the office
  • take lots of breaks from social media
  • meditate regularly
flappityflippers1 · 05/02/2021 18:37

Ditched FB and Insta - haven't looked back!

I do "10 mins me time" several days a week - this sometimes is in the morning if time, mostly in evening after DS in bed. I have mud masks/eye masks/face masks that take no more than 10 minutes. So after my morning shower/before bed, I'll pop the mud mask on, get dressed/get PJs on, then have a drink before taking it off. Some days its the mud mask, others an eye mask etc.

I have swapped tea and coffee during the day to hot water with a wedge of lemon - that's made a world of difference

Stopped buying junk food, we only have fruit for snacks now - if we want cake/biscuits, we have to make them from scratch.

Only buy 3 pieces of good quality butchers meat for a 2 week period, the rest is veggie/vegan meals.

Reduced bread massively - we're toast fiends so have ditched the toaster, so it's a bit more effort to make now, and we've started having healthier breakfasts.

I have moved my phone out of the bedroom, and charge it overnight on the landing now. Also no screens at all for at least 30 mins before bed. (TV, Kindle, Phone etc)

I practice mindfulness, deep breathing and yoga a few times a week.

Greenland21 · 05/02/2021 20:06

I really need to take up some of these habits! The hot water with a wedge of lemon for example instead of tea and coffee, what difference have you found it’s made?

Drink at least 2 litres of water a day
15000 steps a day
No social media - fb, insta & Twitter before anyone says this is.
Good skincare- every morning & night without fail
Moisturise every day
Veg with every meal

EvilSylvanianRabbit · 05/02/2021 20:12
  • I don’t like alcohol so I don’t ever drink
  • I eat live yoghurt and proper fermented sauerkraut
  • I floss daily
  • I take a multivitamin, cod liver oil and extra vitamin D
  • I take good care of my skin, never wear make up to bed

Unhealthy - I do use my phone too much, and I don’t get enough exercise.

DuringDinnerMints · 05/02/2021 20:17

I don't drink or smoke.
We don't own a car so I'm forced to walk more.
We eat all our meals together, at the dinner table.

I'm naturally quite lazy so walking means I get exercise whether I like it or not!

flappityflippers1 · 05/02/2021 21:07

@Greenland21

I've had loads more energy, I'm way more hydrated, my skin is glowing (admittedly that's also the healthy eating and face masks too!)

The most surprising though is if I drink lemon water, I don't get the afternoon slump, I'm energised all day. If I lapse and stick to tea/coffee, I'm struggling by the afternoon!

FluffyBlueJumper · 05/02/2021 21:15

No alcohol, cigarettes, sun.
Exercise everyday.
Low-carbing.

ComtesseDeSpair · 05/02/2021 21:20

If I want something like chocolate or sweets my deal with myself is that I have to run the long way around to the enormous supermarket to get it, which is a loop of about 7km. It means I get a good run, and at least 90% of the time I get to the supermarket and realise I don’t actually want the chocolate or sweets anymore anyway.

I pack away my home office at the end of every day to give me mental space between home and work.

I cleanse, tone and moisturise every evening; including most of the time when I’ve been out and get home terribly trashed.

Justcallmebebes · 05/02/2021 21:21

Drink at least 2 litres of water a day, yoga, pilates and cardio exercise, v little sugar in my diet, vitamin d in the winter, minimal alcohol and a mainly meat free diet and aim for 7 to 8 hours sleep a night

micc · 05/02/2021 21:21

I try and work out most days. Even for 20 mins. The Nike training app is fab.
I also drink water like theres no tomorrow. I have 3-4 litres a day.

AH1991 · 05/02/2021 21:23

I try to work out every other day for at least 30 minutes and then do yoga / flexibility exercises in between to stay loose.

So far going good.

Justcallmebebes · 05/02/2021 21:23

Oh and I keep my home and work space neat and tidy and uncluttered. If my living space is clean and organised I feel a lot better
