I'd say police and HR should be your first contacts.

NothingICanDo · 06/01/2021 19:10

...ice?

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 06/01/2021 19:10

Police

MissConductUS · 06/01/2021 19:10

Call the police.

XelaM · 06/01/2021 19:11

Report the person to the police

Alexandernevermind · 06/01/2021 19:11

Sorry he had to go through this. Was it a colleague or customer, reported at the time to line manager? Obviously go to the police. Is he in a Union?

Thisisatflrailservice · 06/01/2021 19:11

Yes

LawnFever · 06/01/2021 19:11

What have his work said? Are there witnesses? I’d report it to the police, and take pictures of his injuries

Wingedharpy · 06/01/2021 19:12

For no reason?

Omeara · 06/01/2021 19:12

Call the Police, ask them to make sure that any CCTV is preserved.

Wingedharpy · 06/01/2021 19:14

I should have worded that better - there is never any justifiable reason for punching someone.

What I really meant was, did this happen out of the blue or was there an argument beforehand.?

Sheilafeeler · 06/01/2021 19:15

Sorry my bat died. Colleague at a clients house they were on site

Police. HR/line manager.

Sheilafeeler · 06/01/2021 19:16

No, witnessed to be unprovoked, punched in the face then the man grabbed his face in sheer rage and was pushing thumb into his eye

Twickerhun · 06/01/2021 19:18

Sheilafeeler · 06/01/2021 19:18

Police. Report as assault. Do you know the circumstances that led to this. Hope dh is ok. Take photos of injuries and seek medical advice.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 06/01/2021 19:19

Police.

Line manager and HR, to be repeated when he has police information.

There is no other course of action, surely!

NoEffingWay · 06/01/2021 19:20

Call the police
Write a detailed statement before they arrive-the sooner the better
Take photos of any injuries and make sure they are time stamped
Stop for a minute and take a deep breath

CoffeeRunner · 06/01/2021 19:22

Police 100%.

Also HR or the boss if it is a small company without HR.

SeaToSki · 06/01/2021 19:23

Does he need medical assistance? That first. Then make sure the other guy is kept away, calmed down, restrained etc so he cant kick off again.

Then all the other stuff

Yesmate · 06/01/2021 19:24

What do you do? You call the Police.

HollowTalk · 06/01/2021 19:24

That's terrible. Definitely the police.

rwalker · 06/01/2021 19:28

police

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 06/01/2021 19:28

How vile.

Police - make sure he has pics taken. (for court)

Medics- for checking injuries.

Write an account down quickly... What was said.. What happened. Witnesses - names & addresses.
