I’m guessing most people will be in ... anyone planning anything special / different to help celebrate it at home?

OP posts:
RoganJosh · 27/12/2020 19:46

We’ve got some sparklers in and we’ll have a fire pit. Rock and roll.

MistletoeandGin · 27/12/2020 19:46

Raclette, wine and belting out 80’s power ballads with DH. No different to any other year really Grin

Sparklesocks · 27/12/2020 19:46

We are in tier 4 - so are just going to have a really nice dinner and a big bottle of fizz, watch a film and relax. Might get dressed up for fun too.

AnneBoleyn1536 · 27/12/2020 19:47

I never do anything, so I'll be doing what I usually do every night - read, TV, bed by 10:30

Mincepiehangover · 27/12/2020 19:48

Tesco finest meal deal for us. Secretly pleased l don't have to go out this year!

ZenNudist · 27/12/2020 19:49

Zoom drinks with friends

CreamFirstThenJamOnTop · 27/12/2020 19:49

Same as we always do..... a takeaway, 2 or 3 drinks, a film then a Happy New Year kiss at midnight.

This is pretty much what I'll be doing too, except I go to bed later, but with the addition of having to sit hugging my fearful dog because, no doubt, there will be loud firework going off all around at midnight.
ilovesooty · 27/12/2020 19:55

Zoom quiz with friends. Then I'll catch up with with the TV I need to watch. I have no wish to celebrate anything this year.

wendz86 · 27/12/2020 19:57

Pizza and snacks and see which child falls asleep first.

bagginses · 27/12/2020 19:57

Exactly the same as every year. We make beds on the floor in the living room and spend the evening with our DDs watching movies until midnight, when we leave them to have a sleepover downstairs. They love it!

countbackfromten · 27/12/2020 20:02

I’m doing a night shift at work and after having to self isolate I honestly cannot wait to be back at work and caring for patients!!

PatchworkElmer · 27/12/2020 20:05

Fire pit and sparklers with DS before he goes to bed. Will probably go to bed at 10ish ourselves, which is what normally happens on NYE here.

Lindy2 · 27/12/2020 20:06

We have a family tradition to always go to Brighton on new year's eve. We play in the arcades, go for a walk around the lanes and the seafront and have fish and chips at Harry Ramsden's for lunch. We are tier 4 so it's obviously not going to happen this year. Of all the things we've cancelled and missed out on it's this one that's making me saddest.

This year I think we'll just do a bit of party food at home. Have a bottle of wine and tell 2020 to f**k right off.

GenericDietCola · 27/12/2020 20:09

Party tea and karaoke night with DH and the DC

tappitytaptap · 27/12/2020 20:14

Maybe some sort of nice meal deal type thing (wonder if M&S doing one?) and film, but we will be in bed before midnight as my 2 year old is a crap sleeper! Last year our family stayed at my parents house. I went to bed at 10.30 and got up just before midnight to eat some party food my mum had cooked, have a glass of something fizzy and see in the new year 😂

Dita73 · 27/12/2020 20:16

Same as every other year. Sausage rolls, cheeses and Jools Holland

Peanutbutterblood · 27/12/2020 20:18

I've got the chinese ordered and in planning a little disco party with my dds. With lots of wine

delilahbucket · 27/12/2020 20:20

We never have childcare so pretty similar to usual. Takeaway and we have champagne sat waiting.

Oly4 · 27/12/2020 20:21

DH is cooking and we’ll have some juice wine.
Plus Jools Holland.

Ginogineli · 27/12/2020 20:21

Well I’ll happily be honest and say I’ll be having friends and their kids over - 4 families tier 3.

Most people I know doing similar

Oly4 · 27/12/2020 20:21

Nice wine not juice Grin

hartof · 27/12/2020 20:21

Pjs, steak, drinks and kitten cuddles. Usually would get a takeaway but I can't see that going smoothly this year with no restaurants being open I think takeaways will be really busy. We never go anywhere on nye anyway so no different for us.

thetaleunfolds · 27/12/2020 20:25

Home alone with my baby and dog watching a film. Will probably cook myself a pizza and crack open a bottle of merlot to really push the boat out 😄

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/12/2020 20:29

At midnight I'm having a fire and am going to burn my 2020 diary and calendar.
