He didn’t even offer me a cuppa.

My boyfriend got home early from work today. Spent the day on the sofa playing on his iPad whilst I was WFH in the same room. He did not, even once offer me a cuppa. Am I being unreasonable to be cross.

YABU get your own cuppa.

YANBU to be cross and I should stop making him a cuppa every single morning before work.

Yeah I'd be irritated but I'd also just pipe up and say "if your making a cuppa I'd love one too, thanks for asking!"

livefornaps · 15/12/2020 20:19

God what is the point of that useless shit-slob.

goopsoup · 15/12/2020 20:19

Absolutely stop making him a cup of tea! Selfish twat.

WorraLiberty · 15/12/2020 20:19

Did he make himself any?

If so, I would've just said 'Oi you tight git, where's mine'?

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 15/12/2020 20:19

Did you offer to make him one?

Groundhogdayzz · 15/12/2020 20:20

YANBU being in a relationship is about caring and wanting to make life easier for each other.

livefornaps · 15/12/2020 20:20

Is he also crap in bed? He sounds like a particularly undynamic sloth. I wouldn't want to shag him anyway.

ComtesseDeSpair · 15/12/2020 20:20

I wouldn’t expect anyone to make me anything unless a) they’d gone to make something for themselves, in which case they should offer or b) I asked them to do it. And the same applies in reverse, DP has a tongue, if he wants something he’s perfectly capable of asking.

Circumlocutious · 15/12/2020 20:20

Just ask for a bloody cuppa and stop seething inside.

Trisolaris · 15/12/2020 20:21

Was he making his own and didn’t make one for you? Or just didn’t make any? As the two are different. Some people are constantly drinking cups of tea/coffee and others don’t drink that much between meals so it wouldn’t occur to them.

tenterden · 15/12/2020 20:21

YANBU but did you ask for one? Was he actually making one for himself and ignoring you?

Either way, nobody likes a martyr so why didn't you say "Oi! Make me a cup of tea will you?"

Rose789 · 15/12/2020 20:21

Surely you only offer a cuppa to someone if your having one (unless it’s a guest obviously)

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 15/12/2020 20:22

Stick a laxative in his next time. Won't be able to sit gaming. Be sat on a loo instead!!

PawPawNoodle · 15/12/2020 20:22

@livefornaps I don't think he's offering to shag you as it goes. What an odd comment.

OP I don't see why he should offer you one unless he was making himself a hot drink. Coming home early from work doesn't make you the tea bitch.

BoomBoomsCousin · 15/12/2020 20:22

If he made himself one and not you YANBU. Otherwise YABU.

Coffeeeeandcake · 15/12/2020 20:23

Just to add, I spent my lunch break washing dishes.. whilst he was in his iPad.

He is usually very lovely and considerate, but today he’s performing poorly.

OP posts:
NuniaBeeswax · 15/12/2020 20:23

Use your words and ask him.

Coffeeeeandcake · 15/12/2020 20:24

But he also didn’t make himself one to be fair.

He has commented on the fact we don’t have any squash left this evening.. despite having been off work all day Hmm

OP posts:
Norwester · 15/12/2020 20:25

I think it matters if he had one himself, and also if he is generous and thoughtful in other ways. (Like maybe no cuppa, but he always remembers to buy your favourite biscuits even though he hates them).

Coffeeeeandcake · 15/12/2020 20:26

Coming home early from work doesn't make you the tea bitch

This made me laugh, and seems reasonable.

I’m not getting up 40 minutes earlier than I need to get up to make him a cuppa ever again though. That ship has sailed Grin

OP posts:
goopsoup · 15/12/2020 20:26

Does he ever make you a cup of tea? He doesn’t sound very considerate, you don’t ask him he wants a cup of tea in the mornings do you, and he still gets one.

livefornaps · 15/12/2020 20:26

@PolPotNoodle, to clarify, I think his non action is indicative of a certain amount of get up and go, ya know what I mean Wink I find anyone glued to a device like a moron all DAY long, not even a couple of hours, like an absolute dunce, without any consideration for the other person in the room is probably a bit of a pig in the scratcher as well.

goopsoup · 15/12/2020 20:26

I’m not getting up 40 minutes earlier than I need to get up to make him a cuppa ever again though. That ship has sailed

Why?!

Dishwashersaurous · 15/12/2020 20:27

If he made one for himself but not you then yanbu

But if he didn’t make any then yabu

goopsoup · 15/12/2020 20:27

I mean why were you doing this?!
