Someone posted this in a group I am in, and I find it really offensive AIBU?!

OP posts:
Motnight · 28/11/2020 15:58

@BessWess88, no I didn't. You are obviously confusing me with another poster.

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/11/2020 15:59

I don't find it offensive but I don't mind it funny either. While it objectified women it's not kind to the bloke either. I'd be surprised to see it because it feels very dated.

MiddleEasternMummy · 28/11/2020 15:59

It's dated humour , certainly not funny but why be offended ? Everyone is a snowflake these days !!!

Suzeyshoes · 28/11/2020 16:00

Is it a group chat for the over 70s?

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 16:00

@Motnight I apologise 🙏

Meraas

your personal attacks are out of order, and there's no need to become personal because you don't agree with something. I am offended by your comments Grin and your lack of comprehension of basic sarcasm.

Do YOU know what "gaslighting" actually means? It doesn't look like it Wink

You can rant and rage as much as you want, and be offended if you feel like it. It does not matter. You don't get to decide what humour is acceptable or not. It's a free country, feel free to move if it bothers you so much others are having a laugh.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/11/2020 16:23

@Nc135

Not offensive no. But equally very childish and unoriginal.
This!
chunkyrun · 28/11/2020 16:24

No just tasteless and unfunny

mummytonicekidz · 28/11/2020 16:25

Not offensive but certainly stupid

Badadabing · 28/11/2020 16:29

Is Jim Davidson in your group?
Hmm

NoPainNoTartine · 28/11/2020 16:29

Meraas

sorry to disappoint you, but as this is an anonymous forum, the reason why we don't take you seriously has absolutely nothing to do with the way you look Grin

but I think you completely missed that point when you become enraged with my previous post Wink

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 16:30

@Badadabing no, but I have actually met him 🤣🤣

And yes he’s as bigger prick as you would imagine him to be.

@Motnight

I am an older woman, late 50s. I know blooming well that times have changed because my generation helped change them.

Please stop with the casual ageism.

Was I replying to you?

The sarcasm in my comment clearly flew over your head. I know not all older women are like this. I made that statement in reply to her “modern women being up tight and stuffy” comment.
There’s nothing uptight and stuffy about disliking casual sexism.

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 16:37

Ooh someone else has piled in now and called me “a lesbian” Shock

OP posts:
Maireas · 28/11/2020 16:49

Ah. "Lesbian" used as a term of abuse. You can't possibly be feminine/hetero and even dip your toe in the waters of feminism. You've got to be some sort of anti man extremist, socially and sexually.

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 16:51

Quite - Thing is lesbians aren’t anti man, they just don’t find them sexually attractive 🤣🤣

I guess that’s difficult for those men with fragile egos to cope with.

OP posts:
BonnieDundee · 28/11/2020 16:55

Not offended but it's so 1970s Grin

Maireas · 28/11/2020 16:57

For some men, Feminists = Lesbians because they find them puzzling and possibly threatening. How can you challenge sexism and misogyny? You must hate men.

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 17:01

Yes 🤣🤣

My DD is a lesbian and the person she is closest to other than her partner is her older brother.

OP posts:
Maireas · 28/11/2020 17:10

That's lovely. You've brought them up well Daffodil

NiceGerbil · 28/11/2020 17:26

Not keen. I grew up in late 70s early 80s and thought we had got away from the idea that men drooling over/ grabbing/ groping random women was hilarious.

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 17:38

Thank you. I was lucky enough to give birth to 3 very lovely human beings.

OP posts:
TooLittleTooLate80 · 28/11/2020 17:48

How is this still going on? Get a life OP.

This. Once again, that cartoon would have been seemed as crass and dated in 1970, let alone in every decade since. They’re collectors’ items now from a bygone era that we can laugh at for their foolishness. Orwell pointed out that they are actually more classist than sexist, which I think is true. Their only virtue is that they are less vile than many of the semi-pornographic music videos and other media that portray women being violently assaulted or degraded in some way that so many people turn a blind eye to today because that has been normalised.
