Someone posted this in a group I am in, and I find it really offensive AIBU?!

OP posts:
CheetasOnFajitas · 28/11/2020 12:10

@Besswess88

It’s so sexist.

It’s not ok at all, we need to move on from this shit.

But we have! This sort of “comedy” is not remotely mainstream any more, almost everyone here has said it is dated. We have no idea of the context of the post- could it have been meant as an ironic comment? Have you not noticed that the internet is chock full of people saying unfunny, unpleasant things? It doesn’t reflect how people actually interact in society.
Suzi888 · 28/11/2020 12:12

@WunWun

It's poor taste but not offensive. I'd make my judgements about the person who posted it.
Yup^^ it’s just silly
Mommabear20 · 28/11/2020 12:12

🤦‍♀️ why can't people take a joke anymore?

Melaniaswig · 28/11/2020 12:13

Inappropriate. What’s the context of it being posted OP?

AnotherMumma · 28/11/2020 12:17

I can't believe anyone would post that in 2020. Crass and grim. The guy responsible is obviously a relic. Hopefully his type will die out soon enough.

Spinakker · 28/11/2020 12:18

Silly, outdated, seaside humour. Like others have said. Suprised you've not come across these things before.

CheckMyLeftPhalange · 28/11/2020 12:20

Like I said, it’s not offensive. I would judge someone who thought it was though. And assume they were of low intelligence. That’s because such old outdated humour that it’s just not funny.

NoPainNoTartine · 28/11/2020 12:20

@Besswess88

The fact that it only became illegal to rape your wife in 1992 in the UK is a pretty nasty underlying undertone.

I don’t think any protected characteristic trumped any other tbh.

I think when we shrug our shoulders at any of it, it lets in the more sinister underlying stuff.

you need a hobby. You are taking that far too personally.
Phyllidakettle · 28/11/2020 12:21

Give your head a nod love.

CallmeAngelina · 28/11/2020 12:23

Do I think it's funny? Not in the slightest. More, pathetic really.

Am I offended? No.

AllThatIAmRoom101 · 28/11/2020 12:24

Why do people feel the need to be offended by everything these days? So sick of it

Steezy · 28/11/2020 12:26

I also have big boobs but not offended by this one bit.
Honestly does feel like everyone is sensitive to absolutely everything nowadays.

Besswess88 · 28/11/2020 12:27

As I said it was posted in a group related to the community (town) I live in, it has absolutely no relevance to anything at all.

OP posts:
Guavaf1sh · 28/11/2020 12:30

People are way too ready to be offended nowadays. If anyone asks ‘should I be offended by this’ the default answer is ‘no’

ivykaty44 · 28/11/2020 12:30

I think that type of innuendo humour has had its day, about 40 years since. I don't find it funny but I am not offended

Oooohbehave · 28/11/2020 12:35

No it's silly 'carry on film's humour. Ooooh matron

CheetasOnFajitas · 28/11/2020 12:37

It not posted in response to anything, or as part of a wider discussion?

Just comment with one of those red rage faces or a “wow” and leave it at that. Did it get a lot of “likes” or “ha ha” comments?

This was quite common to be discussed as offensive in the 80s and 90s. Along with carry on, benny hill etc. It’s not new or recent.

BlueCheckedTeatowel · 28/11/2020 12:39

silly humour. not something i would send but not something i would be even remotely offended by.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 28/11/2020 12:40

I can’t get worked up over this. I’ve received many comments about my large boobs but I don’t think jokes/humour should be censored because I’ve been on the receiving end of smutty jokes

It amuses me that it’s so dated

DominicCummingsBlog · 28/11/2020 12:41

@NoPainNoTartine

The OP wants to be offended and is clutching at straw.

Desperately trying to merge this with child abuse, domestic violence, racism - and whatever else you've tried to throw in the mix - is not helping you at all.

The only offensive person on here is you!

Ultimately it doesn't matter if you find them offensive or hilarious. You don't get to ban them and decide what is acceptable and what isn't.

Spot on!
knittingaddict · 28/11/2020 12:41

Massive deja vu here. I've seen the same artist linked (or very similar) with a different picture and an almost identical post months back. I only go on here and moneysavingexpert, so it must have been on one of those.

cardoon · 28/11/2020 12:43

I don't like it

TheTrashBagIsOursCmonTrashBag · 28/11/2020 12:43

Not funny imo but I’m not offensive and I too have had my fair share of stupid comments about my big old boobs. Humour is subjective and so is offence- when it comes to shit like this.

GabriellaMontez · 28/11/2020 12:44

It's not funny.

You're welcome to feel offended. But unless your boss gave it you it's not inappropriate.
