FLOTUS doesn't get paid, MrsMigginsMate (god, I want a pie right now), but it does have a tax payer funded budget for staffing costs. According to Melania's ex-friend, Stephane Winston Wolcoff, Ivanka nicked most of that budget to staff her own "office". Ivanka also reputedly placed one of her lackeys with Melania to undermine her from the outset - said lackey responsible for Melania's speech that plagiarised Michelle Obama's speech. It's like bad Dynasty.

Hello all, didn’t realise a new thread was started during the night! I’ve been gaily posting over there!

Anyway, reposting this because it’s worth it!

I don't feel too downhearted - it's clear some previous Trump voters have been put off by his antics in the last 4 years. The fact most Trump voters either like his personality or don't care about it is scary but there have clearly been a percentage of republicans who couldn't hold their nose.

I so agree about Michelle Obama and am very sad that she rule out running for President a whilt back. This latest shit-show wouldn't have made her any keener to enter the fray, I'm sure. Sad I hadn't thought about Chelsea Clinton, I have huge respect for her, so much more than I do for the Trump woman. But whilst Ivanka would benefit from her heritage amongst hard-core Republicans, Chelsea Clinton would be torn apart for hers by Republicans and may not sit well with Democrats, either.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom that's so true and so heart-breaking

AcrossthePond55 · 06/11/2020 12:04

Well, that's me done sleeping then. Woke up just after 3am and thought 'just a quick look'. An hour later and I'm wide awake.

Time for coffee. Lots of strong coffee.

newlabelwriter · 06/11/2020 12:05

alex.github.io/nyt-2020-election-scraper/battleground-state-changes.html - this is a really handy tool to see what's happening with votes.

anon444877 · 06/11/2020 12:05

Plus having witnessed the POTUS pressure and scrutiny first hand, how many rational people would want that in their lives a second time?

DumplingsAndStew · 06/11/2020 12:07

Expecting an update from Pennsylvania any minute now

Pomegranatespompom · 06/11/2020 12:07

@Jaichangecentfoisdenom thank you for posting that. Very emotive and refreshing to see such reasoned writing.

anon444877 · 06/11/2020 12:09

I wonder if the count went slow also to allow the national guard, police etc to step up preparations in case of unrest?

Exciting seeing Philadelphia and Atlanta turn things around for Biden. The African American vote and surburban women have come out to vote in their droves.

What's exciting is that according to the Grayson Perry documentary, America will be majority Black and mixed race in the next 15 years. That should mean that Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit and others only vote more towards the Democrats, meaning these states turning blue today may remain blue for the foreseeable future. Atlanta is a majority Black city and it has absolutely made the difference for Biden winning Georgia. 🖤

BlueCatRedCat · 06/11/2020 12:15

John Pavlovitz sums it up here

Sorry, but no, there is a lot wrong with all of that. If the left persist in this sort of rhetoric, it shows they have learned nothing. I can't stand Trump, but the vast majority of his supporters are not frothing, racist fascists. MAGA rally attendees and QAnon conspiracists are not representative of conservative America. They are ordinary working people, let down again and again by governments from both parties. He has a huge swathe of black and Latino support, a huge swathe of ex Obama supporters. And to put white women at the top of the list of the "guilty" is just misogynist in the extreme, and typical of the culture of "Karen" hate that pervades the left. The Democrats are as much to blame for the Trump phenomenon as anyone. They have had 16 of the last 30 years to make life better for the "base" and they failed. Both sides are responsible for the state the USA is in now, and this sort of partisan blame game won't heal anything. Yes, get Trump out, but please, Democrats, take a look in the mirror as well.

Wheresthepostie · 06/11/2020 12:16

Ok, honestly, I've been glued to the screen for the past 24 hours - does anyone know how soon we can expect some solid updates?

allthesharks · 06/11/2020 12:17

Sorry if this has already been posted but I was reminded of it from the discussion about the first dance.

A bit of light relief. It still amuses me.

chomalungma · 06/11/2020 12:18

They are not
But they are happy to support a frothing, racist fascist.
In bigger numbers than before.

Yes, even after Scrotus reminded all the 'suburban housewives' how they should 'love him' because he 'saved the suburbs' for them. By reversing anti-discrimination housing policies.

Newjobnewslob · 06/11/2020 12:20

I'm listening to Fox News. Now I will admit I'm easily persuaded, but I'm already brainwashed to believe Philadelphia is breaking election laws left right and centre.

They're really passionate and really convincing. A lot of people are going to be incredibly angry, I don't see this ending well for anyone

They've got someone working for ups describing how he was asked to backdate a batch of ballots found. His voice has been so distorted for anonymity that he sounds completely inhuman.

They're pushing this fraud agenda from every side

Newjobnewslob · 06/11/2020 12:21

They're also repeatedly sharing clips (I assume this is in TV, I'm on radio) which they say are unverified, 'but you decide'

Fredelliottisayfredelliott · 06/11/2020 12:21

Fox is in Trumps pocket. I'm watching CNN.

Shock It really is like a soap opera plot!!
JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/11/2020 12:25

@anon444877

Yes reckon Ivanka has one eye on the future too. She's the sort of woman that the US electorate might think is their kind of woman...she probably needs to have one more kid though!
Kinder, kuche, kirche.

Sorry, sorry, I know... Grin but I think the internet should be allowed an amnesty on Godwin's law till this shitshow is over.
