@Apileofballyhoo Ted Cruz has perpetuated the lie that Republican observers are being excluded from counts or made to watch from unreasonable distances. (They aren't.) Lindsay Graham has said that the election in Philadelphia is as 'crooked as a snake' and he is donating 500k to the legal fund to challenge the procedures in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Nevada.

I can't believe how much Ted Cruz must hate himself - Trump called his wife ugly and said his dad was involved in the JFK assassination!

BruceAndNosh · 06/11/2020 10:20

Also worth noting the person in charge of elections in Georgia is a Trump appointed Republican
CNN listed a number of people with an election role in Georgia, and every single one was Republican

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/11/2020 10:20

I think she’s somebody who was so desperate to get away from the place she was born that she would do pretty much anything. Watching their first dance when he became President is awful - you can see from their body language that she cannot stand him.

Yep!

Trump and Melanie first dance

@BruceAndNosh

Recounts will take months. Republicans will insist that every single vote for Biden is scrutinised to the nth degree, including visiting any mail in voter in person at their address.
That sounds ripe for a spot of intimidation.
Iwillneverbesatisfied · 06/11/2020 10:22

So Georgia will declare next as its down to a few thousand votes now?

When will Nevada, Arizona and Pennsylvania declare?

Just so I know who is next!

JenniferSantoro · 06/11/2020 10:23

@tobee

Feels very very s-l-o-w 🐌
I’m losing the will to live. Please let it be over😫

I think tbf in those circumstances I’d struggle to look like I loved DH too.

RedToothBrush · 06/11/2020 10:23

@TheMShip

From Guardian live feed: It should be noted though that Georgia remains in ‘too close to call’ territory, and while the Associated Press and Fox News have called it for Biden, the Trump team still have hopes of turning that Arizona race around as more votes are counted.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to AP & Fox calling Arizona, not Georgia. No one has called Georgia.

Yeah I think you could be right. Sorry.

(In my defence I think its poorly worded).

EveryoneRevealsThemselves

I'm not functioning well, similar to you about 3-4 hours of bad sleep since election night. I've even got to the point of googling 'how little sleep can a human survive on' Grin

Oh God, I haven't seen the inauguration before - the whole election process is like an amalgamation of reality tv shows.

Pomegranatespompom · 06/11/2020 10:24

These threads are addictive - that you everyone for all the information.

womanaf · 06/11/2020 10:26

States don’t declare, states keep counting.
Media outlets declare for states, when the maths/existing count shows which way it’s going to go. This is a judgement call (and why some outlets have called Az for Biden and others have not.)

Pomegranatespompom · 06/11/2020 10:26

I hadn't seen that video before - it's excruciating,

BlueCatRedCat · 06/11/2020 10:27

Compare and contrast with the Obamas' first dance

TheNorthWestPawsage · 06/11/2020 10:27

Mitch waiting to see what’s what?

From Washington Post:
Trump’s broadsides have exposed tensions within his party, splitting GOP officials who spoke publicly on Thursday night into warring camps: those who defended the president and those who defended the U.S. election process. Many others, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), have stayed silent.

Apileofballyhoo · 06/11/2020 10:28

Thanks 3ormore. I feel sick at Graham attacking Philadelphia like that. That's dog whistle Trump talk. Ted Cruz is just being Ted Cruz, but Lindsay has fallen even lower.

TheMShip · 06/11/2020 10:29

(In my defence I think its poorly worded).

Agree! Can totally see how it can be read the other way, especially if you're massively sleep-deprived.

BruceAndNosh · 06/11/2020 10:29

It all becomes clear

Ah. Had missed the new thread.

TheClaws · 06/11/2020 10:31

Apparently Georgia is blue.

OvaHere · 06/11/2020 10:33

I'm not sure Trump will have the support of his own party to fight the results for long. I'm expecting a night of the long knives scenario to emerge over the next few days to a week. McConnell isn't everyones cup of tea but he is a savvy political operator who I expect to put party first when it comes down to it. Especially if the senate majority holds.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 06/11/2020 10:34

It’s not just this thread that’s obsessed!

Dd tells me every lesson she’s going into the teacher has the election open on their browsers.

And ds who’s a journalist sent me this.
