To feel sorry for Trump?

I’ve name changed for this as I know I will get completely flamed. But AIBU to secretly feel a little bit sorry for Trump? He campaigned so hard for this election compared to Biden and seemed to put his absolute all into it.

The amount of hate he gets on social media is astounding - I honestly don’t know how one person can handle all that and keep on going. I would have had a nervous breakdown or worse by now if I was on the receiving end of that.

His kids clearly love him and they seem alright - perhaps he’s not so bad behind the scenes? I think losing this election will destroy him as a person and whilst I don’t agree with his political viewpoint, I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the guy.

AIBU?

Are you unwell?

Trump is a disgusting excuse for a man never mind a president. He should be made to answer for the things he has done and be punished

I am looking forward to watching him unravel and lose his tiny mind

Oh and his children ? Look up Stockholm syndrome

byebyeboyee · 04/11/2020 22:36

His children love him?!? The guy who basically said he would f his own daughter...

knittingaddict · 04/11/2020 22:36

Hilarious.

As for Trump, he is loathsome slug and deserves everything bad that happens to him.

Mrsjayy · 04/11/2020 22:36

I saw something that he took money from his trump charity to fund his presidential campaign and the 3 eldest had to go on a course on how not to steal from charity Hmm I think Melania will divorce him once their son hits adulthood.

fairydust11 · 04/11/2020 22:36

@tartanti -
He’s a sociopathic racist, sexist, homophobe! Wtf would you feel sorry for him!? 🤔
The man has had everything he wants in life including power on the world stage for the last 4 years - yet it’s still not enough for him, he wants another 4 years to fuck things up even more.
He is a narcissist who is always right & today he’s trying to bully people into believing there’s fraud with absolutely no proof? Just because he’s loosing.
You must agree with what he stands for to have any amount of empathy for him, every bit of negativity he gets - he gives out to others on a daily basis.

MoonJelly · 04/11/2020 22:36

But I just can’t help feeling a bit sorry for someone facing such huge humiliation and hate on a worldwide scale. I would completely crumple and it would kill me!

But he fosters and thrives on being hates. He takes it as some sort of validation of his superiority. I suspect that, if he does lose, he will never, ever acknowledge that fact, let alone acknowledge the reasons behind it or the fact that he has been the worst president in US history. If he ever did acknowledge any of it to himself he wouldn't be able to handle it.

boatyardblues · 04/11/2020 22:37

I believe the correct MN response in these situations is: are you on glue? The man has caused untold suffering and trampled democratic norms into the ground. I hope he spends serious time in jail (multiple cases pending).

He’s an evil, misogynistic racist who treats women like objects, tortures children in cages, gives nazis a voice and wants to bang his own daughter.

I hope he’s dragged from the White House and imprisoned.

I really can't see her lasting that long. I think there has been some sort of deal to keep her in place with that painful insincere smile for the last five years, and that she will be utterly delighted when she no longer has to keep up the pretence.

In fact, if or when she gets round to her autobiography, it should make a fascinating read.

Gillian1980 · 04/11/2020 22:39

Nope.
He’s beyond awful.

Don’t worry about him - he’ll be fine. He’s a deluded narcissist and he will be absolutely convinced that it’s other people’s issues and no reflection on him.

PhilSwagielka · 04/11/2020 22:39

No, I feel sorry for the kids he put in cages (and yes, I know Obama did the same thing so don't fucking start) and all the other people who've suffered because of him and his dipshit followers. Trump should never have been president. He's a whiny manchild.

SabrinaThwaite · 04/11/2020 22:39

“Alright”.

Hmmm.

Have you seen Trump’s kids displaying their African hunting trophies?

Sconio123 · 04/11/2020 22:40

Feel sorry for him?
Nah.

@Kazziek

Biscuit I mean, how the fuck could you feel sorry for a lying, sexist, racist pervert? The poor diddums is going to get his ass sued. Deservedly. He has made his country a laughing stock, he has defrauded his country, he is quite frankly a tango shit gibbon. YTA.

I profess I don’t know the US equivalent of our Whitehall but can anyone explain whether he has any say over laws passed or does he just sign off on someone else’s work? I.e is he just the worlds worst puppet? I am not in any way condoning anything that’s happened under his watch but trying to see things from the OPs prospective. What makes him the way he is perceived? it’s weirdly fascinating and utterly terrifying all at the same time.

TheJourneyWoman · 04/11/2020 22:40

Has anyone ever heard his son from his third wife speak? Ever?

Some observers think he's possibly autistic. Plus he's 13. Why would anyone be expecting to hear from him?

Selmaselma · 04/11/2020 22:41

Actually I feel a bit sorry for you

Nanny0gg · 04/11/2020 22:41

He's a pig.

And the thought that he has been the 'leader of the free world' with his pudgy fingers holding the nuclear codes...

We've been lucky to get out of this in one piece

TableFlowerss · 04/11/2020 22:42
Biscuit

I can’t bring myself to feel sorry for a billionaire......

hedgehogger1 · 04/11/2020 22:42

He should be in prison!

AlexaShutUp · 04/11/2020 22:43

I know what you mean, OP, in that I have pitied politicians who have been forced out of office.I felt for Cameron even when I couldn't forgive him for what he had done. I felt for May at the end, even though I couldn't stand her. There is something inherently pitiable about that descent from hubris to humiliation.

I don't feel any of that pity for Trump though. He is so delusional, I don't think he will really accept that he has been humiliated. He will carry on denying it, blaming it on a corrupt system or something. He will be angry about the perception that he has been wronged, but he will not accept that he has been defeated. He lives in fantasy land, I don't think it will touch him at all.

studychick81 · 04/11/2020 22:43

User- well if that was trump he would probably be trying to grope the older women.

jessi60 · 04/11/2020 22:43

😂 well this made my night
