@SabrinaThwaite

Trump is Tweet-calling Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina. And Michigan.
Of course he is.

Cos he has to stop his followers from getting to the point where they concede. Its anything to avoid conceding.

He wants to drag this out as long as possible beyond when the results are in.

Thank you.
That's interesting. I feel I should've known that but didn't.

From CNN's Jim Acosta

A source close to the White House said it's becoming apparent that GOP officials are beginning to lose patience with some of President Trump's behavior as he baselessly claims fraud is robbing him of the presidency.

Trump is "bleeding GOP support," said the source, who described the President's complaints as an "ambulance chasing routine."

The source went on to criticize the Trump campaign for leveling charges of voter fraud in Pennsylvania.

Nothing to add other than I'm feeling pretty optimistic right now... it feels like he's gone, at last, they've done it!

I can barely stand to go to sleep so I can wake up and see it writ large!

I may be jumping the gun but this really feels like it is actually happening! The relief..

bentneckwine1 · 04/11/2020 22:45

@Roussette you are welcome.

I feel sorry for the counters in America. It must be stressful with all the arguing to get inside and be so close during covid.

gchali · 04/11/2020 22:46

America getting rid of Trump makes me feel hopeful that we will one day get rid of the Tories.

Lweji · 04/11/2020 22:47

Maybe there is a god if Trump loses this election thanks to McCain's Arizona.

boatyardblues · 04/11/2020 22:52

He’s unravelling at breakneck speed. I’m still weighing up whether it’s true to form Trumpy or he’s seen which way the wind is blowing & is laying the groundwork for an insanity plea/mitigation for dementia when the SDNY prosecutors feel his collar.

Voice0fReason · 04/11/2020 22:53

@Lweji

Maybe there is a god if Trump loses this election thanks to McCain's Arizona.
There would be something very fitting about that! That would be a thumbs down from John McCain.
NotDavidTennant · 04/11/2020 22:56

I think we are about see a world class display of bad losing.

fortunacookie · 04/11/2020 22:57

One word 'Biden'

RedToothBrush · 04/11/2020 22:57

@NotDavidTennant

I think we are about see a world class display of bad losing.
Correction: Winning at losing.
Yohoheaveho · 04/11/2020 22:58

Yup
That old man dance that he did... he'll be be doing that lying down, beating his little fists on the floor kicking his little legs

CaveMum · 04/11/2020 22:58

Saw this on Twitter (no direct source) - a breakdown of votes in Pennsylvania.

Basically, Biden needs more than 63% of the postal votes to win the state and is currently running at 74% based on votes counted so far.

FrencheFancie · 04/11/2020 23:02

Michigan looks like it’s in!!

TokyoSushi · 04/11/2020 23:02

Except for a few hours when I 'napped' I've now been awake for over 36 hours! I really must go to bed. But what if they restart the counting in Nevada? What if any of the other states are called and it's not the predicted result? What if Trump goes totally crazy and I miss it? And now they're starting up another programme on Sky News that looks very much like last nights! Argh! I want to see it, but I must sleep!

I wish there was such a thing as a Mumsnet breaking news alert!

Right, I'm going, don't let anything too wild happen!

boatyardblues · 04/11/2020 23:03

Roussette · 04/11/2020 23:05

bentneckwine1 yes, and maybe I didn't really know about the poll checkers because it runs pretty smoothly here!

gchali I honestly think Johnson won't last if Trump loses, I've always felt this. I give it till Spring...

That's interesting CaveMum, good to hear

Things still narrowing in Georgia. Trump now at 50.0% dead on. Biden on 48.8%. Looks like Biden is likely to run close to him, if he doesn't over run him (and DH thinks he will).

remaininlight · 04/11/2020 23:10

@TokyoSushi The Guardian has a setting for alerts...

JamieLeeCurtains · 04/11/2020 23:11

@Roussette @bentneckwine1 Just while we're chatting amongst ourselves about election counts, I was a party observer ('scrutineer') quite a few times at city council elections in England, and dear lord, the stories I could tell ...

Drunken fights on the counting floor, tears, arguments, marital rows, sore losers and huffs.

The eccentric independents were always the most entertaining candidates, jumping for joy when they saw a single vote unfolded.

Then there were the penis drawings on the voting slips, and the other charming messages to candidates.

Roussette · 04/11/2020 23:11

Tokyo sleep wel!
Ditto, I survived on abut 3 hours last night and need moe!
This is history in the making and I keep thinking I don't want to miss anything!

Hey @RedToothBrush, how long are you staying up for? It's been a hell of a journey.

Roussette · 04/11/2020 23:13

Jamie not as tranquil as i imagined then, that is hilarious and I can so imagine the independents going wild at their meagre votes!
