It looks very unlikely that Biden can win

Agree with others, he's still got a good chance. It will come down to the mail in votes, which seem to be overwhelmingly in favor of Biden. That's why Trump wants the election called now before they can be counted. He knows he's lost it.

Cam77 · 04/11/2020 11:01

@KungFuWeetabix
PA is possible for Biden but unlikely. But Biden doesn’t need it.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 04/11/2020 11:03

A bit of light relief.

The uncounted Michigan votes are from Detroit - if trump polls well there id be amazed!

Biden can totally do this convincingly and agree Trump noise post Florida is because that is hopefully the high point for him...

KungFuWeetabix · 04/11/2020 11:04

Which none swing states are yet to be called that we expect to go Blue?

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 04/11/2020 11:04

It seems to be accepted that all mail-in votes will be for the Democrats. How can anyone be sure of that?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 04/11/2020 11:05

A bit more light relief from a facebok group...

Election Part 2 (Trump thread #108)

Honestly, Biden could still win 280+ votes plus the popular vote by a good 5% which would be basically in line with the polls. Essentially things have cause people to have breakdowns:

  1. FL - always hard to predict, but yes, Trump did well there.
  2. The fact that this year there are huge numbers of postal votes - generally speaking heavily Democrat leaning which are basically all being counted AFTER in person votes (Republican leaning).

So a red mirage - but unfortunately we now have to endure days of a President, already 2million+ down in the popular vote, fighting to get hundreds of thousands of 100% legitimate swing state postal votes thrown out so he can steal the election. This is not okay.

anon444877 · 04/11/2020 11:06

The campaign literature - posting your vote was a virtual shorthand for voting democrat. Logic was they thought people more likely to get their vote out via post than in person as less hassle.

Cam77 · 04/11/2020 11:07

@Jaichangecentfoisdenom
Nobody is saying they will all be Democrat. But it’s statistically highly likely that a comfortably sufficient number of them will be from Biden’s perspective.

NotDavidTennant · 04/11/2020 11:08

It looks very unlikely that Biden can win - he has 238 and is only leading in Wisconsin (10) and Nevada (6). So he can't get to 270, can he? It's not even really close in the others yet to declare.

Some of the states that have not been declared still have a lot of votes to count and can still shift towards Biden, especially if they haven't started counting the postal votes yet.

How US elections work, explanation from an English person for other English people.
And I thought cricket was complicated
Cam77 · 04/11/2020 11:09

US democracy is on a knife edge right now.

Zug2 · 04/11/2020 11:10

This is insanity, I cannot believe it !

KungFuWeetabix · 04/11/2020 11:10

[quote Cam77]@KungFuWeetabix

Wisconsin and Nevada would only add 16, where are the rest coming from without PA?

freddosfrogs · 04/11/2020 11:10

@SchadenfreudePersonified

This. I wonder how many abortions the president has financed personally?

I wondered exactly the same Inglourious.

Financed, or facilitated, or necessitated . . .

Aibu to think the same about Johnson ?🙄
BruceAndNosh · 04/11/2020 11:10

Darn. Milwaukee has finished counting with a big Biden margin. and it's made zero difference to the overall state result. Remaining counties are Trump leaning

maggiethecat · 04/11/2020 11:11

When Wisconsin?

IamTomHanks · 04/11/2020 11:11

It seems to be accepted that all mail-in votes will be for the Democrats. How can anyone be sure of that?

Not ALL obviously, but Trump has been undermining the mail in voting system for months. Most of his supporters will believe his shit and not use it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/11/2020 11:11

UK democracy is also on a knife edge now.

maggiethecat · 04/11/2020 11:14

BruceAndNosh - where are you getting your info on Wisconsin from?

anon444877 · 04/11/2020 11:15

Eurghh, bad news re Milwaukee - still plenty of wins possible though for Biden.

I went to sleep - I stayed up all night last time and it was 4-6 before it all happened, and here it'll be tonight!

IamTomHanks · 04/11/2020 11:16

Where is the Wisconsin info coming from?

SabrinaThwaite · 04/11/2020 11:16

CNN reporting Milwaukee has finished.

Green Bay / Brown County not in yet though.

lovelemoncurd · 04/11/2020 11:17

I'm looking forward to Trump unraveling further.
