Intrigued to see who everyone thinks will win the current US presidential elections? I wouldn't personally vote for Trump, but I think he will manage to win another term. What do you think?

YABU = Trump will win
YANBU = Biden will win

I just wish they'd hurry up with the fecking counting. Looks like Georgia only have 50,000 more votes to count now, so they should be next to declare.

BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH ARIZONA!

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 14:48

Yes I agree the media reporting has been outrageous and I would say what amounts to outright lying about the results at times.

I don't think we can continue to have such biased reporting - no one can trust anything that is being said. The BBC used to be the one source people could count on for an impartial view, that has disappeared entirely!

Thelnebriati · 05/11/2020 14:48

Maybe they remember that time he broke the law and was fined for misuse of funds.

WitchesSpelleas · 05/11/2020 14:49

Its a total disgrace. So obvious the whole media is anti trump. And that includes the BBC who are supposed to be neutral. Shameful.

The BBC are one of the few not to have called Arizona. Nor Wisconsin.

Sorry couldn't resist! 😂

That does not give the media the right to lie and broadcast lies The
The job of journalism is to report that FACTS - they are not a political broadcasting company paid for by the British taxpayer and I say that as a Biden supporter.

I'm following the BBC coverage now, as the Guardian's counter is completely misleading/wrong.

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:00

dong you clearly didn't turn into Jeremy Vine this afternoon! Replay it and listen, it is shocking. Anyone listening and not checking will think Biden is home and dry, he is not. At all.

Whitecottoncandy · 05/11/2020 15:01

@Ihaveyourback CNN and other US stations are not declaring anything. I don’t know why you think it might incite rioting in the US if the U.K. coverage declares early???? I presume they’re not tuning into British tv stations.

I was wondering if you could paste in the information about postal votes not being checked correctly - I hadn’t read this anywhere else and I’d like to read more about it

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:02

I am now seeing Trump is just about to win Georgia. 99% and Trump in lead by a number of percentage points.

felineflutter · 05/11/2020 15:04

I couldn't agree more.

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:06

Okay looking at the tracker, I think Trump is now on course to win actually.

Pennsylvania looks like a Trump win and is now at 88%.
North Carolina 94% and Trump is significantly in the lead
Nevada - only 75% and Trump is closing in

Only Arizona is looking better for Biden

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:07

Georgia just about to announce Trump win.

Whitecottoncandy · 05/11/2020 15:07

Hi @Ihaveyourback I just posted above about if you could share where you got the information about postal votes? I just can’t find it anywhere and want to read more on it

felineflutter · 05/11/2020 15:09

Blimey having to resort to Mumsnet to get accurate results on US election!

Dongdingdong · 05/11/2020 15:10

Georgia just about to announce Trump win.

Where are you getting this from @Ihaveyourback? The most up to date information I can find on Georgia is 50,000 votes still to be counted with Trump 18,144 in the lead.

Whitecottoncandy · 05/11/2020 15:10

@felineflutter I recommend CNN - you can stream it online. Very cautious and very maths based - no hearsay

Whitecottoncandy · 05/11/2020 15:10

@Dongdingdong I have the same information as you. No word on Georgia being declared.

NonCisWoman · 05/11/2020 15:16

I bet Biden is secretly relieve at this. He doesn't want to win.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/11/2020 15:16

BBC remains impartial or perhaps biased towards/against both/all sides.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/11/2020 15:18

Maybe a Democrat house but Republican senate and president will continue to force some compromise and middle ground to their politics? Something we could benefit from here in the uk as well. And yes I'm aware that's not what will happen but I still think it's better than one party in charge of everything.

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:19

I can't attach or link as I saw the postal court action update on the news last night white

As far as I know the evidence of postal fraud is being collated now, and it will be sent directly to the courts. That is my understanding following the news bulletins this afternoon. I am not sure the Trump lawyers will be sharing anything with the media going forward, it needs to be heard in court first. I don't think we will get further updates for now.

You can wait for the official announcement from Georgia if you prefer, it is clear it will be a Trump win from what I can see white

Trump seems to be having a late run to me. Could be wrong.

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:20

Biden has devoted his life to this moment, I think he wants to win!

NotDavidTennant · 05/11/2020 15:21

Despite the misinfromation being spewed onto this thread, Biden still seems to be on track to win, but the result probably won't be certain until tomorrow at the earliest.

Ihaveyourback · 05/11/2020 15:21

The only share that has moved in Georgia is the one for Jo Jorgenson! Rather unhelpfully..
