JustSaying101 · 03/11/2020 19:55

Intrigued to see who everyone thinks will win the current US presidential elections? I wouldn't personally vote for Trump, but I think he will manage to win another term. What do you think?

YABU = Trump will win
YANBU = Biden will win

Everything is pointing towards Biden. So I think it'll be Trump unfortunately.

mygenericusername · 03/11/2020 20:45

Trump all day long.

Leaannb · 03/11/2020 20:46

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

This is going to sound dumb but can someone explain how the votes tonight don't just mean it will be Thing1 or Thing2?

I understand the Electoral College vote wilk hapoen next month but surely the Democrats in that will vote Dem and the Republicans will vote Rep?

Yet it's not as simple as that?

The Electoral College Vote will not be until next month. Most State have winner takes all approach but 2 do not. They can divide their votes. They Elecroral College are voters from the winner of the popular vote political party. There have been faithless electoral college voters who have refused to vote, not vote for the chosen candidate etc. No big deal they are usually fined and replaced. However, we are expecting law suits from both sides....Its a freaking mess

As much as I dislike Trump, I’d like him to win then be properly impeached and discredited to completely draw a line under his presidency.

MikeFromSpaced · 03/11/2020 20:47

I’ve long believed that a large turnout votes for change. That said, if I wake up tomorrow to a trump win I’d be absolutely gutted but not surprised.

Mumofsend · 03/11/2020 20:48

I have zero faith. I think trump

A large turnout tends to be bad news these days. It used to be good news in the U.K.

But then Brexit happened.... with a large turnout

Pinkiii · 03/11/2020 20:51

Hope for Biden but the way 2020 is going, it will be Trump.

He will do anything he can to stay in the whitehouse

PostItJoyWeek · 03/11/2020 21:00

Swing states expect more Republicans to vote on person today than Democrats in person. It is thought that the postal votes are overwhelmingly for Biden. Postal votes are counted afterwards (for reasons that are unclear to me Confused)

Trump has already been trying to spread lies about postal votes being wide open to fraud.

Some think he will declare himself the winner based on votes on the day and wind up his supporters to believe the postal votes are all fraudulent and the Dems are trying to steal the election. He will then refuse to cede power due to alleged fraud and it drags through the courts for months.

The most bleak say he will use those months to start a war so he can use that to keep himself in power.

Trump will win is my prediction :(
Both choices are terrible though.

shesellsseashells99 · 03/11/2020 21:08

What time roughly in UK will we know the outcome please?

the80sweregreat · 03/11/2020 21:10

I heard 2am UK time they will know roughly who has won.

This is very depressing but probably accurate.

I really don’t want another 4 years of trump but at least if he does win that’s it and he can’t run again.

"I really don’t want another 4 years of trump but at least if he does win that’s it and he can’t run again."

I wouldn't bet on that! Hmm

the80sweregreat · 03/11/2020 21:22

It is going to be fascinating I think.
I'm not a fan of Donald Trump at all but I just can't see him losing here. I think that 2020 has been so bad that it'll be the only way this will go! Johnson will be gutted if Biden does scrape it. They are not friends and any deals will not be easy.

I honestly think trump has it in the bag

Apileofballyhoo · 03/11/2020 21:29

We won't know at 2am. That's just when most of the polls will be closed.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 03/11/2020 21:32

So the postal votes aren't counted tonight either? The whole thing seems incredibly faffy.
